Robber leaves banks with cash in hand Young woman slammed By LeaAnne Klentzman

Bank robbery in Fort Bend County is like taking candy from a baby. On Friday afternoon, March 21, Sheriff’s deputies responded to a bank robbery at the First Community Bank in 23700 block of Cinco Ranch

Boulevard in north Fort Bend County just south of Katy. Reportedly, it all started about 2:19 p.m. when a black male wearing a ski mask and all black clothing entered the bank with a gun, demanding cash from the tellers then fleeing the area in an older model maroon van. Then the following Monday,

Grapefruit Juice Can Interact with Drugs

One of the components of grapefruit juice is a chemical called furanocoumarin and has been found to interact with many medications, according to researchers. Furanocoumarins block an important enzyme in the intestines. When this enzyme is blocked, the interaction can pre vent a few medications from working properly. If your diet routinely contains grapefruit juice, ask your pharmacist to check your medications for drug interactions. If there are possible inter actions, changing the medication time may resolve the issue. Calcium channel blockers, used to manage high blood pressure, such as felodipine (Plendil), nicardipine (Cardene), and verapamil (Calan), may dramati cally lower blood pressure if taken with grapefruit juice. If grapefruit juice is taken with cholesterol lowering medications such as simvastatin (Zocor), lovastatin (Mevacor), and atorvastatin (Lipitor), it could lead to muscle breakdown and possible kidney injury. Other medications that have worsened side effects when taken with grapefruit juice include buspirone (BuSpar), sertraline (Zoloft), cyclosporine (Neoral), and amiodarone (Cordarone). Medications such as fexofenadine (Allegra), clopidogrel (Plavix) and losartan (Cozaar) may not work properly when taken with grapefruit juice.

ADVERTISE:

March 24, just minutes after 3 p.m., the Comerica Bank, located in the 8700 block of Highway 6 S. in the northeast quadrant of Fort Bend County, was the next robbery target. In this case the suspect was described as a tall black male wearing a blue hat and sunglasses. He was reported to be about 6’1”, weighing about 210 pounds, wearing a black shirt, blue jeans and tan-colored shoes. Sheriff’s spokesman Bob Haenel said the suspect never displayed a weapon, he just walked into the bank and demanded cash. Haenel said, “He received cash and left the building on foot.” Haenel went on to explain that, “This case is similar to a bank robbery attempt earlier in the day at an IBC Bank location at I-10 and Bunker Hill. In that case the suspect, who had a similar description to this case, entered the bank and demanded money. He left the bank after being told to get out.” No physical injuries were reported in either robbery. Anyone with information on either of these cases is asked to contact Fort Bend Crime Stoppers at 281-342TIPS. Information which leads to the arrest or conviction of either suspect could earn a reward of up to $5,000. All calls to Crime Stoppers are anonymous.
