feeding guide for cattle & sheep The Farmgate All Stock range of feeds is flexible, palatable and highly nutritious. They are designed to be fed to cattle and sheep of all ages, ensuring excellent health and performance. All the products in the range are nutritionally balanced to provide the required levels of energy and protein, together with essential minerals and vitamins for optimum health. Farmgate All Stock 18% Coarse Mix Ewes: Commence feeding 0.2kg per head per day to ewes 6 weeks prior to lambing. Slowly increase until 1kg per head per day is fed, some 2 weeks before lambing. Continue feeding after lambing until grass is plentiful. Actual feeding levels will depend on ewe condition, weather and the number of lambs expected/born. Lambs: Supplement grazing/forage with 0.25kg-1kg per head per day. Calves: Feed up to 2-3kg in two feeds according to available roughage and growth rate required. Can be mixed with Farmgate All Stock Pencils from 8 weeks. Rearing cattle: Feed up to 3-4kg in the first winter and up to 4kg in the second winter. Finishing cattle: Feed up to 5kg according to available roughage and growth rate required. Farmgate All Stock 16% Pencils Can be fed to all classes of cattle and sheep at similar levels to those recommended for the Farmgate All Stock 18% Coarse Mix Additional Information Store Farmgate All Stock feeds in a cool dry place. Fresh, clean water should be available at all times together with quality forage, hay or straw.

CATTLE With all types of cattle, disease can wipe out profits practically overnight. It is essential to draw up a Herd Health Plan with your vet to help keep calves, breeding stock and finishing cattle healthy. Farmgate All Stock only when out on grass - Feed ewes in poor condition 0.25kg per day from 2 weeks pre tupping to 3 weeks post tupping - A maximum of 0.5 condition score loss is acceptable for ewes in good condition in mid pregnancy - Pre lambing expect to feed 1 tonne per 33 ewes - From birth to finish, expect to feed 75kg per lamb (if fed throughout) - Allow 7-9 litres of fresh water daily per ewe (1.5-2 gallons) - Feed 0.5kg Farmgate All Stock per expected/ scanned lamb in the 3 weeks pre lambing, post lambing, then double it - Record all performance details and procedures carried out CATTLE 3 Always group animals in relation to same size, age and breed 3 Never run out of feed 3 Ensure adequate supply of long fibre to reduce bloat and acidosis 3 The higher the daily liveweight gain for the first months of life, the better the carcase conformation class 3 Always make sure there is adequate trough space
