WARMING-UP Today You are the teacher! You know that, some days, you have to be the teacher in the physical education class and you have to explain the exercises in a small group. Read the usual expressions that you can say;       

CLIMBING Climbing is a sport that you can practice in nature. It is very important the security to prevent injuries. You can learn and practice in your high school in the climbing wall, and in nature with your family and friends

JUMPING Jumping is a fun activity to work your endurance and strength. When you are jumping, you must jump only about 2 cm off the floor and do not flex too much the knees. VOLLEYBALL SOME BASIC RULES  The winner of the match is the team which wins the first 3 games.  A team wins a game when it wins 25 points.  Maximum of three hits per play  A player can’t touch the net while the ball is in play.  A ball touching a line is good.  Player can not hit the ball twice.

DANCING Dancing is a fun activity that everybody can practice. Rythim is very important. If you listen to the beats of the music you can dance different types of music (funky, hip hop, pop music, rock,…). Let`s learn some dancing words;  BEATS; We have to listen and count the beats (1,2,3….8, 1, 2,3…8,1,2,3…8)  BMP; Beats per minute. It is the number of beats per minute that songs or tracks have. There are songs with 128 bpm, 140 bpm …or faster with 170-180 bpm  STEP; it is a particular movement of the feet and arms in dancing. There are a lot of steps, and you can make new steps, usual steps and mix them to make a choreography.  COREOGRAPHY; it is a combination of steps and movements that you have to learn and then dance.

FOOTBALL Football is the most famous sport in the world. You can see a football match on TV everyday. There are many types of football; Football, Seven-

a-side, and five-a- side football. In the USA, they call this sport Soccer. In Football there are eleven players in a team and they play on a football pitch. In Seven-a-side there are 7 players, and in five-a- side

football there are 5 players in each team. This year, you have to learn to pass the ball, with the inside part of the foot, to make simple and sure passes. You also have to learn how to control the ball when a player passes the ball to you. Finally, you should know how you can make small kicks with the ball. It is very important that you know how to play football;  You have to score a goal, passing the ball with the players from your team.  If you cannot pass the ball, you can lead the ball towards the goal post.  If you are near the goal post you can shoot the ball to score a goal.

SOME RULES;  You cannot touch the ball with your hands or arms  A football match has 2 halves of 45 minutes. A five-a-side match has 2 halves of 20 minutes.  In football, a team can only make 3 player changes. In five-a-side football, a team can make all the changes it wants to Physical Education I.E.S. HIKING Hiking is a physical activity which consists in walking in a path. There are two types of paths; 

SHORT ROUTE; the signs are yellow and white. It has less than 50 kms

LONG ROUTE; the signs are red and white. It has more than 50 kms

ORIENTEERING Orienteering is a sport in which you have to find a number of places, in a limited zone. You have to use a map, and a compass. You should run in this activity, so, endurance is very important. Finally, you have to know how to use the compass and the maps. When you find a peg, you have to check in a card.
