Victoria Watkins & Michael Watkins The reigning 2011 Florida Strawberry Festival Queen, Victoria Watkins, will compete alongside her father, Michael. Michael is a Florida native and a 24-year resident of Plant City. He has worked in the health insurance business for 20 years with corporate clients and individuals to manage their health care costs. Currently he is a partner of V & R Insurance with Kenna Holmes. Michael is active in the Noon Rotary Club where he served on the board of directors from 2007 to 2010, and is also on the leadership team of BNI, a business network organization. Victoria is studying business at Hillsborough Community College. She hopes to attend culinary school and one day own a restaurant or catering business. She is engaged to Anthony Sgro, an Army soldier. The couple plans to marry in March of 2012. In addition to her work as a waitress at Beef O’ Brady’s in Plant City, she works at her Dad’s office several days a week.

Tracy Connell & Olan Deguzman

Tracy Connell and Olan Deguzman will represent South Florida Baptist Hospital this year. Connell, a 1987 graduate of Plant City High School, was born in Weisbaden, West Germany, the daughter of a career military family. She received her nursing degree from HCC and graduated with honors from the University of St. Francis with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Care Leadership. Today she is a graduate student at the University of Tampa in the Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner Program. She is employed as a registered nurse in Emergency Department at South Florida Baptist Hospital. Tracy and her husband of 19 years, Danny Connell, are the proud parents of two boys, Samuel, 13, and Morgan, 11.

Olan is a native of the Philippines where he developed his natural rhythm for dance, despite lack of any formal training. He is married to his wonderful wife of 17 years, Susan, who has graciously allowed him to take time away from her during dance practices for the last few months. They have two children, Jordan and Lindsey. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy and a Master’s Degree in Public Health. He works as Manager of Rehab, Wound Care, & Infusion Departments at South Florida Baptist Hospital and has been with the BayCare Health Systems for 13 years. He thanks God for all the blessings and opportunities in his life, his family, and the gift of performing arts, which he is honored to share. foCUS Magazine Plant City october 2011
