August 17 CARDBOARD BOAT RACE Family & MWR is calling for the talents of adults and youth alike to participate in the FMWR Cardboard Boat Race at 10:00 am at TA250 Lake, Event is FREE and open to the public, gather your team and get ready to build a boat. August 18 CONCEALED CARRY WEAPONS CLASS The Outdoor Adventure Center is hosting Concealed Carry Weapons Class; the first step in acquiring a Missouri CCW endorsement including weapons qualification on the range. Class is 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Cost is $15 to register, $65 day of class. Each student must bring a photo ID, eye and hearing protection, semi-automatic handgun and a revolver (plus minimum of 50 round each), and lunch or money for food. All handguns must be in good working condition. Class is open to the public 21 yrs. and older. Interested patrons must be registered the day prior to each class at the Outdoor Adventure Center located in Bldg. 2290 FLW K Road. For more information call 596-4223. Additional Date: September 15 Individuals bringing a privately owned weapon onto the installation for authorized activities such as hunting, dog training activities or marksmanship events, are required to register weapons. Privately owned weapons can be registered between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the Main Gate Visitor’s Center, Building 100.
