With a 28% undervalued perspective, home buyers from the northern region of the US, Canada and Europe are shopping the Sarasota area for the ultimate home buying opportunity Naples Housing Spotlight Home and condo sales have kept a brisk pace on the Paradise Coast during the traditionally slow months of August and September. September pending home sales reflected a 107 percent increase with 848 contracts in September 2009, compared to 410 contracts in September 2008. The traditionally slow month of August reported pending sales of 518 compared to 274 for August of 2008, for a 52.8 percent increase. HAPPENINGS On the fourth weekend in January the Annual Arts and Crafts Festival is held at the Venice Municipal Airport. The Venice Symphony begins its season in January and has concerts on the first Friday of the month through April. The Venice Little Theatre runs from October through May, while the Golden Apple Dinner Theatre features year-round performances. Each January brings Sarasota Arts Day, a celebration of the local artists, on the streets of downtown Sarasota, along with the St. Armands Circle's Winter Art Festival, Punta Gorda's Sullivan Street Craft Festival and the Annual Downtown Venice

Craft Festival. The official opening of the Opera Season includes a Sarasota extravaganza and the Winter Concert Series of the Jazz Club of Sarasota. January also plays host to Circus Sarasota Opening Night and the Southwest Florida Heritage Festival at the Crowley Museum.
