ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION AS A PROCESS OF CHANGE
Today, the concept the Environmental Education, points to achievement of people more aware, more responsible, with more and better preparation theory and practice to address the environmental issues, and the preservation the environment necessary for preservation of the human species in the planet and other living beings with coexisting. Since man made use of reason, is in a constant learning and recognition of the surrounding environment and where he moves. The relationship that implies, creates in him a sense of belonging and a willingness to transform their environment. But the transformation and the knowledge of their environment, assertiveness is only achieved through the teaching and learning through pedagogical and andragogical models on the fundamental factors that enable the existence of human beings and their relationship to the rest of the population that comprise the planet's global ecosystem. This is where education plays an important role in socio-cultural life of the regions and people. Education transforms knowledge into action, which then materialize in the environment of humans, usually by providing positive changes to improve the quality of life of people, but in many cases these actions are casting a negative result in damage the environment and the organisms that live. The continued deterioration of urban environments and the environmental situation that exists on the planet is the result of our actions, and therefore it is our responsibility and implement corrective and preventive actions to stop this global crisis, and one of the alternatives this solution is the implementation of strategies in environmental matters. In this sense environmental education becomes a science of teaching locked in classrooms, a scientific knowledge to protect and safeguard the environment. This alternative is not new, However it is difficult to determine exactly when the term environmental education (EA) was used for the first time. It was probably at the National Conference on Environmental Education held in 1968 in New Jersey. Thereafter, the term was gaining importance and teaching and learning of environmental education has increased and improved over the years, and currently appears as one of the solutions to problems not only environmental but also cultural of societies. To understand how large we are talking about, we define environmental education, not a science but as a process to develop and upgrade actions and ideologies in order to achieve optimal quality of life in harmony with the environment. We define it quite simply as: "the teaching-learning process aimed at children, youth and adults, with the intention of transforming the knowledge about the environment and transmute them into positive actions that lead to protect, preserve, and conserve the factors biotic and abiotic factors, the planet." Then we can say that the purpose of EA is to convey to individuals the knowledge necessary to understand environmental problems, creating opportunities to
develop the skills necessary to investigate, and evaluate and systematize the available information on the problems. The environmental education, is a good alternative of prevention and awareness of the problem which we faced the global heating nowadays. But she alone, in the process of transferring the teaching does not have the necessary scope. Currently, there are many useful tools for getting information to every corner of the planet, two of which are of vital importance as communication resources on the one hand are the web tools and the other is the English instrumental, international language with which circulates daily by millions of bits of information. Therefore this essay written in English and translated into Spanish, through practical exercises aimed at consolidating the terminology and fundamental concepts that underlie environmental education. Finally we can say that the environmental education is a discipline that has gone cattle land and relevance in the last years, this branch of knowing has two components guarantee that it as the prop to create brings back to consciousness, first is the educative component and the second is the environmental component, elements that can be encausados by means of a character interdisciplinary with environmental sciences such as the ecology and its branches (agricultural ecology, human ecology, political ecology, urban ecology, etc.)

LA EDUCACIÓN AMBIENTAL COMO PROCESO DE CAMBIO En la actualidad, el concepto Educación Ambiental, apunta al logro de personas más conscientes, más responsables, con mejor y mayor preparación teóricopráctica para hacer frente a la problemática ambiental, y, a la preservación del medio ambiente, necesario para la conservación de la especie humana en el planeta y de los demás seres vivos con los que coexiste. Desde que el ser humano tomó uso de razón, está en un constante aprendizaje y reconocimiento del entorno que lo rodea y hacia donde él se desplaza. La relación que esto implica, genera en él un sentido de pertenencia y voluntad para transformar su entorno. Pero la transformación y el conocimiento de su medio ambiente, solo se logra asertivamente a través de la enseñanza y aprendizaje mediantes modelos pedagógicos y Andragogícos sobre los aspectos fundamentales de los factores que posibilitan la existencia del ser humano y su relación con el resto de las poblaciones que conforman el ecosistema global del planeta. Es aquí en donde la educación toma un papel importante en la vida sociocultural de las regiones y su gente. La educación, transforma los conocimientos en acción, que luego se materializan en el entorno de los seres humanos, generalmente, aportando cambios positivos para mejorar la calidad de vida de las personas; pero en muchos casos estas acciones son de carácter negativo arrojando como consecuencia daños al medio ambiente y los organismos que allí conviven. El deterioro continuo de los ambientes urbanos y la situación ambiental que subsiste en el planeta es el resultado de nuestros actos, y por lo tanto es responsabilidad y obligación de nosotros implementar medidas correctivas y preventivas para detener esta crisis global, y una de las alternativas a esta solución es la implementación de estrategias educacionales en materia ambiental. En este sentido la educación ambiental se convierte, de una ciencia de la enseñanza encerrada en las aulas de clases al conocimiento científico para la protección y resguardo del medio ambiente. Esta alternativa no es nueva, sin embargo es difícil determinar con exactitud cuando el término educación ambiental (EA) se usó por primera vez. Probablemente fue en la Conferencia Nacional sobre Educación Ambiental realizada en 1968 en New Jersey. A partir de allí, el término fue adquiriendo importancia y la enseñanza y aprendizaje de la educación ambiental se ha incrementado y mejorado a lo largo de los años, y actualmente se presenta como una de las soluciones a los problemas no solo ambientales, sino también culturales de las sociedades. Para entender a grueso modo de lo que estamos hablando, definiremos a la educación ambiental, no como una ciencia sino como un proceso para impulsar y mejorar acciones e ideologías, con el fin de lograr una óptima calidad de vida en armonía con el medio ambiente. Podemos definirla de una manera muy simple como: «el proceso de enseñanza aprendizaje dirigido a niños, jóvenes y adultos, con la intención de trasformar el conocimiento sobre el medio ambiente y transmutarlos en acciones positivas
que conlleven a proteger, preservar, y conservar los factores bióticos y abióticos del planeta». Entonces podemos afirmar que el propósito de EA es transmitir a los individuos, el conocimiento necesario para comprender los problemas ambientales; crear las oportunidades para desarrollar las habilidades necesarias para Investigar; y evaluar y sistematizar la información disponible sobre los problemas. La educación ambiental, es una buena alternativa de prevención y concientización del problema al cual nos enfrentamos hoy en día con el calentamiento global. Pero ella sola, en el proceso de transferir la enseñanza no posee los alcances necesarios. Actualmente existen muchas herramientas útiles para obtener información de cada rincón del planeta; dos de ellas son de vital importancia como recursos de comunicación, por una parte están las herramientas web y por la otra está el inglés instrumental, idioma internacional con el cual circula a diario millones de bits de información. Por lo tanto el presente ensayo escrito en inglés y traducido al español, busca consolidar mediante ejercicios prácticos la terminología y los conceptos fundamentales que sustentan la educación ambiental. Finalmente podemos decir que la educación ambiental es una disciplina que ha ido ganado terreno y relevancia en los últimos años, esta rama de saber tiene dos componentes que la avalan como el puntal para crear conciencia, el primero es el componente educativo y el segundo es el componente ambiental, elementos que pueden ser encausados mediante un carácter interdisciplinarios con las ciencias ambientales tales como la ecología y sus ramas (ecología agrícola, ecología humana, ecología política, ecología urbana, etc.)
