The report brings together existing work (mainly from Anglo-Saxon veterinary literature) and only fulfils half of its remit in that it gives no accurate indication of the current methods used in abattoirs in France. This very technical report is available online and therefore in the public domain. However, its degree of technicality renders it virtually incomprehensible to all but readers with specialist knowledge in this field.
