MOROCCO

Marrakech is a delightful mix of everything that makes Morocco a great holiday destination. Sheltered by the breathtaking peaks of the Atlas Mountains and within reach of both the vast Sahara Desert as well as the scenic coastal cities of Agadir and Essaouira, Marrakech offers an overabundance of activities and sights. Visit one of Africa’s busiest squares, Jemaa el-Fna, early in the morning, while the sun is slowly rising over the red-painted houses. This market square has existed for almost 1,000

years and among the bustling stalls, you can find literally everything. See the beautiful architecture and colours of the Dar Si Said and the Palais de la Bahia in the Old Town, marvel at the towering minaret of the Koutoubia Mosque, and then explore the heart and the life of Marrakech through its warren of souks. From the Souk Semmarine lots of smaller markets and streets spring and here you can smell the spices and the leatherwear, see the colours and feel the fabric.

After braving the bustle of the souks, head to the Jardin Majorelle. A park sprawling with colours, the shade of the exotic plants and trees will provide a much needed escape from the onslaught of the sun. Marrakech opens up its welcoming arms wherever you find yourself in the city and don’t forget to toast the sunset with a small glass of local mint tea.

Iberostar Club Palmeraie A 5-star all-inclusive hotel, framed by the awe-inspiring Atlas Mountains, the Iberostar Club Palmeraie is a perfect oasis in the middle of Morrocco’s stunning scenery. Located just east of Marrakech, you can divide your time between exploring this sonorous and seductively enchanting metropolis, and enjoying the abundance of facilities, landscaped gardens and activities that are available across the vast grounds of the resort. Palm trees line the terraces, tennis courts and swimming pools and provide a great source of shade when the midday sun gets a bit too much. The architecture and style of the resort reference legends and classical Northern African themes throughout and inside you’ll find fully air-conditioned rooms, five restaurants and spa facilities as well as a beauty salon. A resort for guests of all ages, this is the perfect place from which you can explore and enjoy the many riches of Morocco.
