WHY FIVE ? PROTECTION / FITTING / DESIGN: Five’s DNA. We are glove specialists, and pride ourselves on making what some consider the best gloves ever created. Not that we’re smarter than other equipment brands, but simply because we only do gloves. All of our resources, human, technical, and financial, are devoted to a single product: gloves!

Every day, every hour, every minute, we are dedicated to the design, development, and production of top-quality gloves. Why? Because we’re convinced that the glove is an essential part of riders’ equipment, and it shouldn’t be considered a mere “fashion statement”. The hand is both complex and fragile, since it’s so exposed in a fall. It’s made up of a large number of small parts: joints, bones, muscles, tendons, nerve endings. Designing a product that fits these constraints isn’t so simple. The hand is, more than anything, essential to our daily lives. So, it’s essential to protect it properly, with a glove that’s right for your sport. A FIVE glove, obviously.

You can’t design a glove in the same way you design a jersey. It has to be protective, comfortable, durable, breathable, and fit the rider’s hand to transmit every movement without restriction. And this is truly a matter for specialists! Of course, on a bike, you pedal with your legs, but steering precision and finesse is expressed... through the handlebar! Gloves are therefore the vital link between you and your bike. Because, it’s a matter of faithfully reproducing through the handlebars what the rider has in mind. We have more than 10 years of experience at the highest levels in motorcycle racing (World Championship MotoGP, Superbike, Endurance, Motocross, Enduro, etc ..), which has helped us develop absolute mastery of technical constraints, both in terms of steering at high-speed on two wheels, and in reducing the risk of injury to the hand. We’ve leveraged this experience and, by adapting our concepts to this highly specific activity, we’ve transferred this knowledge to cycling. There is a fundamental difference between making a beautiful glove, and making a truly efficient glove. Our goal is to bring you a combination of these elements in just one product.

Chaque jour, chaque heure, chaque minute, nous nous consacrons à la conception, au développement et à la production de gants de qualité supérieure. Pourquoi ? Parce que nous sommes convaincus que le gant est un élément essentiel de l’équipement du pilote et qu’il ne doit pas être considéré comme une simple « pièce de vêtement ». La main est un membre à la fois complexe et fragile, car très exposé en cas de chute. Elle est composée d’un nombre important d’éléments, articulations, os, muscles, tendons, terminaisons nerveuses, de petite taille. Nous bénéficions de plus de 10 années d’expérience au plus haut niveau en compétition moto (Championnats du monde MotoGP, Superbike, Endurance, Motocross, Enduro, etc…), qui nous ont apporté une maitrise absolue des contraintes techniques, tant en terme de pilotage d’un deux roues à haute vitesse que de réduction des risques de blessure de la main. Nous mettons à profit cette expérience et, en adaptant nos concepts à cette pratique si spécifique, la transposons au vélo. Il existe une différence fondamentale entre faire un beau gant et faire un bon gant. Notre ambition est de vous apporter la synthèse des deux en un seul produit. Dessiner un gant est une chose, le produire à grande échelle et dupliquer ses qualités fonctionnelles sur chaque taille en est une autre.

Nous créons nos propres concepts, dessinons nos propres patrons, taille après taille, déterminons au millimètre près le positionnement de chaque élément de protection, de chaque couture, nous sélectionnons chaque matériau. Pour qu’au final, l’ajustement du gant et la sensation qu’il procure (nous appelons ça le « fitting ») offre toujours le meilleur compromis entre protection et confort d’utilisation. Ce, quelle que soit votre taille. Seul un spécialiste peut vous apporter une telle constance. Nous disposons de nos propres centres de conception et de développement, en France et en Italie, et fabriquons dans nos propres unités de production. Au final, cela fait toute la différence. The RC1 is FIVE’s high-end short road glove. It aims to ensure optimal comfort when weight is placed on the handlebars, no matter what your hand position may be. Its synthetic palm in abrasion-resistant AX Suede features numerous 2 mm gel padded sections inserted underneath 3 mm memory foam at stress points (thenar muscle, hypothenar, thumb), for extreme comfort, and 2 mm gel on the metacarpals for flexing. And the ultimate detail, for optimal sweat dispersion, the palm hosts, in the middle, a perforated Micromesh panel that allows for ideal ventilation. As for the other side, it combines a stretch, sublimated Polymesh fabric and a fine 2.2 mesh fabric, ensuring both excellent support and efficient ventilation. This ventilation is further enhanced by the breathable Powernet fabric between the fingers. The Microwipe terrycloth material on the thumb allows you to wipe the sweat from your brow while you ride. If one considers only the essential to be truly indispensable, then the RC2 represents an excellent choice in a short road glove. It features fundamental elements that make it an enjoyable, high-performance glove. It’s particularly suitable for those looking for a minimal interface between their hands and the handlebars. Its AX Suede synthetic leather palm has no padding nor reinforcement, and so, no added thickness. By the same token, the other side of the hand is made up of a single panel of sublimated stretch 2.2 mesh, so that no stitching interferes with the sensation of wearing nothing at all. The on/off tab is paired with two Lycra panels located on both sides, for easy fit and good support, and a totally unencumbered cuff. Extremely lightweight and ventilated, the RC2 seems to disappear like a second skin. This is just what many exacting athletes want; they need nothing more to be able to give their all.

Si l’on considère que seul l’essentiel est véritablement indispensable, alors le RC2 constitue un excellent choix en matière de gant court routier. Développé selon le concept FIVE ExtraFit privilégiant le fitting, il dispose des éléments fondamentaux qui font un gant agréable et performant. Le RC2 sera particulièrement apprécié de ceux qui souhaitent le minimum de filtres entre la main et le guidon. Sa paume en cuir synthétique AX Suede ne dispose d’aucun rembourrage ni renfort, donc d’aucune surépaisseur. De même, le revers de main est composé d’un seul empiècement de tissu extensible Mesh 2.2 sublimé, de sorte qu’aucune couture ne vient altérer cette sensation de ne rien porter. La patte d’enfilage associée à deux panneaux de lycra situés de part et d’autre, facilite la mise en place et le bon maintien du gant, et n’engendre aucune contrainte au niveau du poignet. Extrêmement léger et ventilé, le RC2 sait se faire oublier tant il s’apparente à une véritable seconde peau. Being able to ride even when the weather is bad is a crucial part of living your passion for the open road. Now you can get out there and brave the elements, because FIVE has used all its experience in terms of extreme conditions (cold, rain, high speed) on motorcycles to design the ultimate winter road cycling glove. The RC-W1 features a waterproof and breathable membrane which stops water from getting inside while allowing complete sweat dispersion. That’s the story in terms of waterproofing. As for thermal insulation, it’s covered by a Thinsulate™ 80g lining that provides enough insulation to limit the effect of low temperatures, while remaining thin enough to allow you freedom of movement. Comfort is optimized with the use, in zones that are in direct contact with the skin, of an internal Bemberg™ lining. Weatherproofing begins right from its topside construction, made from Windblock 10™ windproof fabric. We haven’t forgotten nighttime visibility, either, with a black, reflective panel (discreet in the daytime, visible at night). Protecting yourself from bad weather is important, but protection from blisters, or even from a bad fall, is just as essential. And so, the palm of these gloves features multiple 2 mm gel panels hidden under 3 mm memory foam, placed in strategic zones where your hands touch the handlebars…or the ground. The fourchettes (or finger contours) are made from Windblock 5™ fabric, a wind-blocker that is thinner than the Windblock 10™ on the topside, for optimal fit. Closure and support are provided by an adjustment tab in PU Flock and Velcro. A pull tab integrated into the structure of the cuff makes for easier on-off. And last, but not least, if you use a waterproof device, a GPS or smartphone, you can use your touchscreen with the Conductive fabric on the tip of the index finger. A truly practical touch to help you finalize your route, even when it’s raining. The RC-W1: Winter is no longer an obstacle to living your cycling dreams.

Le confort est optimisé grâce à l’adoption, pour les zones en contact avec la peau, d’une doublure interne Bemberg™. La résistance aux intempéries commence dès la structure supérieure réalisée en tissu coupe-vent Windblock™. La visibilité de nuit n’est pas en reste, avec l’intégration d’un empiècement réfléchissant 3M™ noir (discret de jour, visible de nuit). Se protéger contre le mauvais temps, c’est bien, encore faut-il se protéger des ampoules, voire des mauvaises chutes. Aussi la paume de la main reçoit de multiples rembourrages de gel 2 mm dissimulés sous une mousse à mémoire de forme 3 mm, le tout disposé aux zones stratégiques de contact avec le guidon… ou avec le sol. Les fourchettes (ou contour des doigts) sont constituées de tissu Windblock™ plus fin celui de la zone supérieure, afin de conserver un fitting optimal. La fermeture et le maintien sont assurés par une patte de réglage PU soft touch et velcro. Une languette intégrée à la structure du poignet permet de faciliter l’enfilage. Enfin, à condition d’utiliser un GPS ou smartphone water-resistant, vous pourrez manipuler votre écran tactile grâce au tissu Conductive disposé au bout de l’index. Pratique pour peaufiner votre itinéraire, même sous la pluie. RC-W1 : Vous ne considérerez plus l’hiver comme un obstacle à la pratique de votre sport.

Probably the most ventilated style in the Five Bike Advanced Gloves range. It provides control sensitivity and optimal airflow that make it so efficient and comfortable, both for cross-country and on dirt or BMX tracks. With its outer AirMesh surface featuring large 3D cells, and its Lycra wristband, the XC-R closes with a Velcro strap on the top. Its thumb, covered with MicroWipe, a micro-terrycloth fabric, allows you to wipe the sweat from your forehead before it runs into your eyes. The AX Suede synthetic leather palm features a ventilated panel in Micro-Mesh fabric that helps with airflow, so you can avoid getting blisters. The Mesh finger contours also assist ventilation to the point where you can feel the flow of air while you ride. A 2 mm gel pad is cleverly placed in the palm at the grip point, and the point of impact in case of a fall. A wide FIVE logo printed in silicone print helps with improved grip on the handlebar, and adds to the unique XC-R look.

La paume en cuir synthétique AX Suede accueille une fenêtre d’aération en tissu micro-Mesh qui participe à la circulation de l’air et réduit ainsi les risques d’ampoules. Le contour des doigts en Mesh favorise également la ventilation au point de ressentir le flux de l’air en roulant. Un coussinet de gel 2 mm est judicieusement disposé dans la paume au point d’appui sur les poignées et d’impact en cas de chute. Though, as specialists, we promote and recommend specific styles for different uses, we’ve decided to offer a versatile, universal glove that can go with any outfit. We are proud to present the XC Phantom. In terms of color, you can’t go wrong here, since we’ve kept it simple and tasteful: all black. Efficient for so many situations and on any terrain, it will be your faithful companion on all your rides. Its top structure in 4-Way Spandex, a material known for its elasticity, provides ultimate comfort. Its palm in AX Suede synthetic leather, featuring perforated Nash reinforcements for the grip and embossed Nash for protection in case of a fall, offers excellent handle grip, and reduces the risk of blister formation. The Lycra finger contours increase the entire glove’s flexibility. The thumb features independent construction from the rest of the palm, guaranteeing a superior fit. This glove is covered in thick MicroWipe so that you can wipe the sweat from your forehead when exertion becomes intense. A silicone logo on the inside of the index finger improves grip on the controls, and the addition of conductive wires on the index finger and thumb allow you to operate the touchscreen of your smartphone or GPS. The PHANTOM XC can be adjusted using a tab in soft TPR and Velcro. The 2 mm Airprene wristband reinforced by an easy-on tab with Lycra all around ensures excellent support. The black FIVE logos in 2 mm Sonic on the top zone and ZOL print on the wrist part help create the phantom-like look of the XC PHANTOM. Just as this glove tends to blend in visually, it also «disappears» when it’s worn, since it’s so comfortable, lightweight, and efficient.

It features a strap-free, easy-on system, with a simple pull tab to conveniently adjust its positioning. Wrist support is provided by a 2 mm breathable Airprene band. ALLRIDES’s top-level comfort and lightweight feel come from the use of mesh fabric, an ultra-thin, durable material that molds to your hand, on the top side. Facing the elements, difficult terrain, and nature, Enduro is a complete, demanding sport that can potentially push the rider beyond their limits... And so, proper ventilation is absolutely essential. Tough terrain, however, requires at least some protection. ENDURO AIR offers the ideal compromise, protecting you from minor obstacles (stones, branches...) while providing efficient airflow. We’ve combined several micro-mesh elements of different densities on the top surface of the glove for efficient ventilation, and we’ve added just the right amount of protection, with 4 mm-thick Sonic TPR elements on the hand and 2 mm-thick on the fingers. The AX Suede synthetic leather palm offers ideal grip, and reduces the risk of blisters. This glove features Nash reinforcements that are also found on the thumb zone. The thumb is covered in MicroWipe fabric, which is very effective for wiping the sweat off your forehead. Closes with a Soft TPR + velcro adjustment strap for a perfect fit. Lycra piped trim and silicone print on the index finger improve grip on the controls. And since in Enduro, you may need to use a GPS or smartphone, the thumb and index fingers contain, on the end, conductive wires for handling touchscreens. The ENDURO AIR helps you handle all the risks involved in this sport.

Confrontation aux éléments, au relief et à la nature, l’enduro est un sport complet et exigeant, qui peut potentiellement pousser le pilote au delà de ses limites… Il convient donc de bien se ventiler. L’agressivité du terrain suppose toutefois un minimum de protection. L’ENDURO AIR offre le compromis idéal pour se prémunir des petits accrocs (pierres, branches…) tout en autorisant une circulation efficace de l’air. Nous avons en effet combiné plusieurs éléments de micro-mesh de différentes densités sur la surface supérieure du gant pour une ventilation efficace, et y avons ajouté ce qu’il faut de protection à l’aide d’éléments TPR Sonic de 4 mm d’épaisseur sur la main et de 2 mm sur le doigt. La paume en cuir synthétique AX Suede offre une prise en main idéale des commandes et réduit les risques d’ampoules. Elle est dotée de renfort Nash, que l’on retrouve également sur la zone du pouce. Celui-ci se voit habillé de tissu MicroWipe, efficace pour éponger la sueur du front. Fermeture par patte de serrage Soft TPR + velcro pour un ajustement idéal. Pipping de finition Lycra. Though the ENDURO.X is indeed an ENDURO glove, it’s designed for the most dedicated riders who take an eXtreme approach (hence the X...) that includes all-mountain or even downhill riding. This glove combines many top-quality materials designed for comfort over long distances and for protection. Its top structure is made of a protective Soft TPR shell sewn onto perforated full grain kidskin leather for improved breathability. The top of the hand has several Sonic TPR protective blocks that are 4 mm-thick and thermo-welded onto mesh fabric for effective ventilation. The ring and little fingers are covered with perforated leather inserts that feature ventilated Polyurethane mini-shells, and a foam padding reinforcement on the knuckles. The index and middle fingers, which are less exposed, feature mesh to promote airflow. The bands (or finger contours) are made in Lycra for the outer fingers and mesh for the inner fingers, to provide the perfect mix of ease of movement and ventilation. We’ve paid close attention to the palm: AX Suede synthetic leather with a perforated Nash reinforcement in the center of the hand and on the thumb. This section features independent construction from the rest of the palm for optimal fit, and contains MicroWipe fabric that allows you to wipe your forehead while absorbing sweat. Stretch Kevlar reinforcement that includes 2 mm of gel protects the palm and side of the hand, the zones that are most exposed in case of a fall. ENDURO.X is ultra-adjustable, with its soft TPR and Velcro adjustment tab, combined with a bit of Spandex. The 2 mm Airprene wristband and Lycra piped trim make for a perfect fit. The thumb and index fingers are equipped with conductive wire that allows for handling of GPS or smartphone-style touchscreens. Protective, comfortable, and precise, the ENDURO.X is truly reliable on all types of rides.

Si l’ENDURO.X est bien un gant ENDURO, il se destine aux pratiquants les plus engagés qui adoptent une approche eXtrême (d’où le X…) pouvant les conduire à évoluer en All Mountain, voire en descente. Il combine de nombreux matériaux haut de gamme dédiés au confort sur longue distance et à la protection. Sa structure supérieure est composée d’une coque souple de protection Soft TPR cousue sur du cuir de chèvre pleine fleur perforé pour une meilleure évacuation de la transpiration. Le haut de la main bénéficie de multiples blocs de protection Sonic TPR de 4 mm d’épaisseur thermo-soudés à du tissu Mesh, pour une ventilation efficace. L’annulaire et le petit doigt sont couverts d’empiècements cuir perforé doté de mini-coques Polyuréthane ventilées et d’un renfort Foam Padding sur les phalanges. L’index et le majeur, moins exposés, adoptent du Mesh pour favoriser le flux d’air. Les fourchettes (ou contour des doigts) sont en Lycra sur les doigts extérieurs et en Mesh sur les doigts intérieurs afin d’offrir le mix parfait aisance / aération. La paume fait l’objet de toutes les attentions : Cuir synthétique AX Suede doté de renfort en Nash perforé au creux de la main et au pouce. Celui-ci bénéficie d’une construction indépendante du reste de la paume pour un fitting optimal, et revêt un tissu MicroWipe permettant de s’essuyer le front en absorbant la transpiration. Un renfort de Stretch Kevlar intégrant 2 mm de gel protège la paume et la tranche de la main, zones les plus exposées en cas de chute. L’ENDURO.X s’ajuste au millimètre grâce à sa patte de réglage en TPR souple et velcro, associée à une portion de Spandex. Le bandeau de poignet en Airprene 2 mm et le pipping de finition en Lycra contribuent à un parfait maintien. Unless they’re overconfident, if many downhill riders have skimped on protection, including in extreme conditions, it’s probably because they weren’t satisfied with the equipment available thus far. With our extensive experience at the very highest levels in motocross and speed Grand Prix, FIVE has developed an ultra-protective glove that offers the ultimate in wearing comfort. This glove will satisfy downhill riders who need extreme steering precision, without sacrificing safety. At first glance, what makes the DH unique are the ventilated Polyurethane shells that are directly inspired by our motorcycle racing gloves. Placed under the FIVE logo in 3 mm Sonic TPR, these two shells protect the joints, and mini PU shells are placed on the first phalanges, with high-density foam padding protecting the last ones. The top structure is made of wide 3D cell mesh, for optimal airflow. The outer fingers, which are more exposed, are covered in perforated full-grain kidskin leather. The end of the middle and index fingers in Spandex allows greater mobility of the most-used fingers. The finger contours combine Lycra for the outer fingers and ventilated Mesh for the inner fingers. When riding downhill, the outer part of the hand is particularly exposed. Trees and rocks are elements that the hand may come in contact with. That’s why we’ve made the side of the hand in full-grain kidskin with a wide Stretch Kevlar panel that includes a Soft PU protective shell, all sewn together with Kevlar stitching for high tensile strength. The end of the radius features 2 mm gel padding placed within a 2 mm Airprene band, providing excellent wrist support. The Soft TPR and Velcro adjustment tab allows for ultra-precise adjustment, and a pull tab makes it easy to put on. The palm of the DH in AX Suede synthetic leather with a silicone print provides ideal grip and flexibility on par with the very finest gloves. The thumb covered with Micro Wipe fabric allows you to easily wipe off your forehead after a steep descent. And finally, you can easily activate your GoPro camera using your smartphone, using the conductive wires in the thumb and index fingers. The DH protects you with total freedom, from the first to the last second of your descent.

À part par excès de confiance, si de nombreux pilotes de descente se privent de protection, y compris en conditions extrêmes, c’est probablement qu’ils n’avaient pas obtenu satisfaction avec le matériel proposé jusqu’ici. Fort de son expérience au plus haut niveau en Grand Prix motocross et vitesse, FIVE a développé un gant ultra-protecteur sachant se faire oublier. Il comblera les descendeurs exigeant une précision de pilotage extrême, sans sacrifier à la sécurité. Ce qui caractérise au premier coup d’œil le DH ce sont ses coques en Polyuréthane ventilées directement héritées de nos gants de compétition moto. Situées sous le logo FIVE en Sonic TPR 3 mm, ces deux coques protègent les articulations et de mini-coques PU sont disposées sur les premières phalanges, un padding de mousse haute densité assurant la protection des dernières. La structure supérieure est réalisée en Mesh à alvéoles 3D larges pour un flux d’air optimal. Les doigts extérieurs, plus exposés, sont recouverts de cuir de chèvre pleine fleur perforé. L’extrémité du majeur et de l’index en Spandex favorise la mobilité des doigts les plus sollicités. Le contour des doigts combine Lycra pour les doigts extérieurs et Mesh ventilé pour les doigts intérieurs. En descente, l’extérieur de la main est particulièrement exposé. Arbres, rochers sont autant d’éléments contre lesquels la main peut frotter. Voilà pourquoi nous avons doté la tranche de la main de cuir de chèvre pleine fleur et d’un large panneau de Stretch Kevlar intégrant une coque de protection en Soft PU, le tout assemblé à l’aide de couture Kevlar pour une résistance élevée au déchirement. L’extrémité du radius bénéficie d’un padding de gel 2 mm disposé au sein d’un bandeau en Airprene lui-même de 2 mm qui assure un excellent maintien du poignet. La patte de réglage en Soft TRP et velcro autorise un réglage au millimètre et la languette Puller facilite l’enfilage. La paume du DH en cuir synthétique AX Suede dotée d’une impression silicone offre un grip des poignées idéal et une souplesse digne des gants les plus fins. Le pouce recouvert de tissu Micro Wipe, permet de s’éponger aisément le front après une descente engagée. Enfin vous pourrez facilement actionner votre camera GoPro à l’aide de votre smartphone grâce au fil Conductive dont sont équipés pouce et index. Le DH vous protège sans vous restreindre, de la première à la dernière seconde de descente.

Developed in collaboration with Canadian BMX Champion Tory Nyhaug (2014 World Vice-Champion, 5th at 2016 Olympics, and 3rd at 2017 World Cup), RACE features everything a modern rider might need. Lightweight and ultra-protective on the palm side, to withstand sliding on banked asphalt turns, RACE offers unparalleled comfort and precision. Its top structure in sublimated Polymesh and mesh provides a perfect fit on the hand, while allowing airflow, this reducing the risk of blistering. The AX Suede synthetic leather palm contains Kevlar reinforcement, a material that features high abrasion resistance, located right in the zone of contact with the ground if you fall. This small piece of Kevlar makes all the difference! Silicone print adds the right amount of grip on the palm and the index finger, to help you truly master the controls. The thumb features independent construction from the rest of the glove, for improved fit. The thumb also contains additional reinforcement at the grip contact point. Stunning 2 mm Sonic super-soft TPR on the top, and 1 mm on the index finger, combine visual appeal and protection. Finger mobility and ventilation are optimized with the use of mesh for their contours. Support is provided by a soft TPR and Velcro adjustment tab positioned on top. Like Tory, RACE will undoubtedly be with you when you reach the top of the podium.

Développé en collaboration avec le champion de BMX Canadien Tory Nyhaug (Vice-champion du monde 2014, 5e des Jeux Olypiques de Rio et 3e de la Coupe du Monde 2017), le RACE répond à toutes les exigences du pilotage moderne. Léger et ultra-protecteur au niveau de la paume pour résister aux glissades sur les virages relevés bitumés, le RACE offre un confort et une précision sans équivalent. Sa structure supérieure en Polymesh sublimé et Mesh épouse parfaitement la forme de votre main tout en autorisant un flux d’air réduisant le risque de formation d’ampoules. La paume en cuir synthétique AX Suede accueille un renfort en Kevlar, matériau hautement résistant à l’abrasion, situé pile à la zone de contact avec le sol en cas de chute. Ce petit élément de Kevlar fait toute la différence ! Une impression en silicone ajoute ce qu’il faut de grip à la paume et sur l’index, afin de bien maitriser les commandes. Le pouce bénéficie d’une construction indépendante du reste du gant avec pour résultat un meilleur fitting. Il reçoit un renfort additionnel sur la zone de contact avec la poignée. De superbes logos en Sonic TPR ultra-souple de 2 mm sur le dessus et de 1mm sur l’index conjuguent esthétique et protection. La mobilité des doigts et l’aération sont optimisées par l’usage de Mesh pour leurs contours. Le maintien est assuré par une patte de serrage en TPR souple et velcro positionnée sur le dessus. Comme Tory, le RACE vous accompagnera certainement sur la plus haute marche du podium.
