THE ACTS 1:8 CAPITAL APPEAL
A capital appeal is a call to raise a specified sum of money within a short period of time, specifically a year in our case. For example, the John 3:16 Appeal we had in 2014, which allowed us to leave our former denomination with title to our property, raised $405,000 in less than sixty days. This year we’re aiming to raise $1.8 million in one year to eliminate our remaining church debt, expand parking, and position ourselves for the next decade of ministering

I had mentioned that more information will be sent to you, and so here’s a special edition of our church newsletter. It has the basic information you need about the ACTS 1:8 APPEAL. Eliminating the debt means freeing up thousands of dollars every year for ministry that would otherwise be paid to service the debt. We want to follow what Jesus told His disciples in Acts 1:8: “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” After all the training we’ve had on campus, we now need to go out beyond our campus and reach more people for Jesus Christ.

PRAY AND CONSIDER We will give you an opportunity to prayerfully consider making a sacrificial financial commitment above and beyond your normal giving and then make a pledge using the pledge card that you will receive in the mail very soon. The ACTS 1:8 APPEAL is scheduled for only one year, from August 2016 to August 2017. It will be up to you to decide how you want to give your donation within that year. If your financial situation changes, you are free to make adjustments as necessary without guilt or obligation.
DECIDING ON THE PLEDGE We’re hoping you can attend a special 10TH ANNIVERSARY PARTY scheduled for Sunday, August 28, 2016, starting at 5 pm in the Grand Ballroom of First Prez. It will be a special evening with a message of encouragement and inspiration from Pastor Dan. On the same evening, you will also have the opportunity to turn in your pledge card. So please save August 28 in your calendar. You will receive an invitation in the mail soon. We hope you and your family can make it! It will not only be an evening of commitment but also of celebration.
