JOHN PARKER—John has been a member of First Presbyterian Church since 2011. He is a Commercial Real Estate Broker with Broadstreet Partners. John has served in ministries which include the Youth Committee and Nominating Committee. Additionally, he has served as a Youth Volunteer, small group leader, and basketball coach. He is a member of the Crossroads Sunday School Class. John is married to Sydney, and they have three children, Myddie, James, and Liza. DOUG STOKES—Doug has been a member of First Presbyterian Church since 1994. He is a Physician with Southern Eye Associates. He has served in ministries which include Deacon, Adult Christian Education Committee, Gallivan-Mills Scholarship Committee, Usher’s Guild, Children’s Ministry volunteer, and Sunday School Teacher. Doug is a member of the Flock Sunday School Class. He is married to Mary and they have two children, Douglas and GraceAnne. AMY WILLCOX—Amy has been a member of First Presbyterian Church since 2006. She is a stay-at-home mom. Amy has served in ministries which include Children’s Ministry, Grains of Grace, and Ignite Search Committee. Additionally, she has served with the Women’s Ministry Leadership Team, Female Student Ministries Coordinator Search Committee, and Senior High Mission Trip to the Dominican Republic. She is a member of the Flock Sunday School Class. Amy is married to Thomas, and they have three children, Caroline, Roe, and Elizabeth.

Nominees for Board of Directors Class of 2019 The duties of the Board of Directors are in connection with the care, custody, control, and management of the real and personal property of First Presbyterian Church as may be assigned to them by the Session.

HARRY BOLICK—Harry has been a member of First Presbyterian Church since 1978. He has served in ministries which include Elder, Sanctuary Reconstruction, Owners Representative for Sanctuary and Red Brick building renovations, Strategic Planning Committee, Staff Committee (Chair), Presbytery Chair for New Church Development, Denominational Concerns Committee, Covenant Sunday School Class President and teacher, Facilities Committee, and Property Acquisition. He is married to Sheila, and they have four adult children, Jennifer, Claire, Harry, and Mark, and two grandchildren. LANG CHEVES—Lang has been a member of First Presbyterian Church since 1952. He is in Real Estate with BHHS C. Dan Joyner. He has served in ministries which include Elder, Capital Campaign Committee CoChair, Kindergarten Committee (now First Presbyterian Academy), Worship and Music Committee, Communications Committee, Supervision Committee, Usher’s Guild, and Basketball Coach. JIM WOODSIDE—Jim has been a member of First Presbyterian Church since 1945. He is retired. Jim has served in ministries which include Deacon, Elder, and Treasurer, and he is a member of the R. N. Ward Sunday School Class. His community involvement includes Chairman of the Greenville County Planning Commission, President of the SC Chapter CPCU, Friends of Springwood Cemetery Board, and President of the Greenville Association of Insurance Agents. Jim is married to Frances, and they have two adult children, James and David, and two grandchildren.

Nominees for Foundation Board of Directors Class of 2019 The duties of the Foundation Board of Directors are to encourage, manage, and disburse special gifts and bequests made by individuals for the purpose of creating, expanding, and sustaining Christian ministries at First Presbyterian Church.

BERNIE ELLIS—Bernie has been a member of First Presbyterian Church since 2003. He is an Attorney with McNair Law Firm, P.A. Bernie serves as Vice Chair of the First Presbyterian Church Foundation Board. He is married to Susan, and they have two children, Elizabeth and Ladson.

WHIT JORDAN—Whit has been a member of First Presbyterian Church since 1972. He was President of Dixie Packaging and is owner of Jordan Properties and A Perfect Storage Company. Whit has served in ministries which include Deacon, Elder, Treasurer, and Staff Committee. Additionally, he has served as a member of the Greenville County Board of School Ministries. Whit is married to Suzanne, and they have one adult daughter, Louisa, and one grandson. SCOTT MELZER—Scott has been a member of First Presbyterian Church since 1997. He is Vice President of IT and Purchasing with Integrated Power Services. Scott has served in ministries which include Elder, Deacon, Treasurer, and the FPC Foundation Board. He is a member of the Crossroads Sunday School Class. Scott is married to Audrey, and they have three daughters, Lindsey, Taylor, and Ellie.

Nominees for the Class of 2019 Your Nominating Committee recommends the following slate to be elected as church officers to the Class of 2019. Although this slate has come from a number of recommendations from the congregation, nominations may be made from the floor at the time of the Congregational Meeting, Sunday, April 24. Be advised of the following regulation: “Before making a floor nomination, please check with the persons you wish to nominate to make sure they are willing to serve and work.” Officers should exhibit the following gifts and qualifications: 1. Dedicated discipleship will be exhibited by their regular attendance in worship and the education ministry. 2. Love of Jesus Christ will be displayed by love commensurate to their discipleship. 3. Their manner of life reflects the Christian gospel in church and in the world. 4. Their faithful giving of treasure, talent, and time to the ministry of Christ at FPC will be evident in the records of the church.

Nominees for Office of Elder Class of 2019 Elders, along with pastors, have responsibility and authority for governing the congregation and guiding its mission for Christ in the world. Scriptural principles that characterize successful candidates for the office of Ruling Elder are listed in 1 Timothy 3:1-7.

ANNE BAILEY—Anne has been a member of First Presbyterian Church since 1988. She has served in ministries which include Christian Education Committee, Junior High Youth Advisor, Children’s Sunday School Teacher, Hollis Backpack Ministry, Flock Class President, and volunteer in the Vineyard bookstore. She is currently serving as an elder. Anne is a member of the Flock Sunday School Class. She is married to Rob and they have two adult children, Max and Elliot. BOB CARTER—Bob has been a member of First Presbyterian Church since 1996. He is Business Executive with H2L Consulting Engineers. Bob has served in ministries which include Elder, Denominational Opportunities Committee, Missional Ministry and Evangelism Committee, Worship and Music Committee, Prayer Ministry, Director of Music Search Committee, TAG Governance Team, ECO’s MAT Committee, and Sunday School Teacher. He is a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class. Bob is married to Becky and they have two adult children, Julie and Michael, four grandchildren, and one great-grandson. NANCY CAUDEL—Nancy has been a member of First Presbyterian Church since 1992. She is a retired CPA with Air Centers of South Carolina. She has served in ministries which include Elder, Nominating Committee, Denominational Concerns Committee, Staff Committee, Finance Committee, Board of Presbyterians For Renewal, Membership Development Committee, Associate Pastor Nominating Committee, Women’s Bible Study Teacher, Communion Committee, Marketplace Grandmother, and Spiritual Life Chairman for Presbyterian Women. Mark has served in ministries which include Elder, Deacon (former Moderator), Missions and Outreach Committee, Stewardship Committee, Staff Committee, Gallivan-Mills Scholarship Committee Chair, Academy Committee Chair, College Class Teacher, and Greeter Captain. He is a member of the Crossroads Sunday School class. Mark is married to Amy and they have three sons.

BLAKE MYERS—Blake has been a member of First Presbyterian Church since 2007. He is a Physician with Jervey Eye Group. He is a member of the Flock Sunday School Class and has served as a Sunday School teacher. Blake is married to Cynthia, and they have two children, Sam and Alex.

ERIN BRACKBILL—Erin has been a member of First Presbyterian Church since 2007. She is a part-time Pediatrician with the Greenville Health System. Erin has served as a Children’s Ministry volunteer, as well as a member of the Stewardship Think Tank Committee and Family Ministries Ad Hoc Committee. Additionally, she has been on the planning team with Family First and involved with missions, going on the Dominican Republic trip this summer. She is a member of the Crossroads Sunday School Class. Erin is married to Steve, and they have two children, Thomas and Lauren.

DIXON CUNNINGHAM—Dixon has been a member of First Presbyterian Church since 1976. He is a retired Professor of Finance (Furman University). He has served in ministries which include Elder, Deacon, Pastor Nominating Committees, Sunday School Teacher, and Men’s Thursday Morning Prayer Group Teacher. He presently serves on the First Presbyterian Academy Committee and on the Foundation Board of Directors. He is a member of the Covenant Sunday School class. Dixon is married to Dody and they have two adult children and six grandchildren.

DON NICKELL—Don has been a member of First Presbyterian Church since 1998. He is Principal of Advantis, a Construction and Development Consulting Company. Don has served in ministries which include FPC Foundation, Elder, Senior Pastor Nominating Committee, Academy Committee, Strategic Planning Committee, and Sunday School Teacher for the Prime Time Class. He is married to Jean, and they have two adult children, Trey and Stephanie.

JAMES BRICE—James has been a member of First Presbyterian Church since 2005. He is a Business and Tax Attorney with Brice Law Firm. James has served as Deacon. He is a member of the Flock Sunday School Class. James is married to Miriam, and they have two children, Carlisle and Jake.

STEVE FINCH—Steve has been a member of First Presbyterian Church since 2010. He is a retired Maritime Lawyer. Steve has served in ministries which include Elder and Deacon, Head Usher, Board of Directors for Westminster Academy, Nursing Home Ministry, and Sunday School Teacher for Coral Ridge Presbyterian in Fort Lauderdale, FL. At FPC he has served as Alpha Course Facilitator and Sunday School Teacher for the Prime Time Class, of which he is a member. Steve is married to Nancy, and they have two adult sons, William and James.

John has served in ministries which include Elder, Chairman of the Mission and Outreach Committee, Deacon, Property Committee, Clerk of the Session, Usher’s Guild, and Outreach Foundation Russian Sister Church Program. He is a teacher for the Koinonia Sunday School Class. John is married to Sharon, and they have two adult children, Jennifer and Joel, and two grandchildren.

BOB HOFFMAN—Bob has been a member of First Presbyterian Church since 1982. He is a Banker with GrandSouth Bank. He has served in ministries which include Deacon, Usher’s Guild, and Junior and Senior High Youth Advisor. Bob is a member of the Flock Sunday School Class. He is married to Priscilla and they have two adult sons, Brent and Blake.

ERIN LAUDERDALE—Erin has been a member of First Presbyterian Church since 1997. She is an Attorney. Erin has served in ministries which include Stephen Minister, Junior High Youth Leader, Service Coordinator for the Upper Room Sunday School Class, and Hollis Reading Buddies. She is married to Chris and has three college-age stepchildren, Seth, Aubrie, and Tate.

Richy has served in ministries which include Elder, Supervision Committee (Chair), Governance Committee (Ad Hoc), Worship & Music Committee, Nominating Committee (Chair), Deacon (Vice Moderator), Usher Guild (Chair), Hospital Visitation, Governance Committee (By-Laws), Congregational Care Committee, Sunday School Teacher, and Basketball Coach. He is in the Prime Time Sunday School class. Richy is married to Leslie, and they have two children, Rich and Georgia.

He is a member of the Flock Sunday School Class. Bob is married to Doane, and they have four children, Diane, Robert, Jr., John, and David. JOHN BOMAR—John has been a member of First Presbyterian Church since 2014. He is a Commercial Underwriting Manager with Park Sterling Bank and is married to Kaitlin. John serves as Social Co-Chair of the Journey Sunday School Class.

COTY BRIGGS—Coty has been a member of First Presbyterian Church since 2014. He is a Financial Advisor with Edward Jones. Coty has served as an elder at a former church. Coty is married to Aften and they have three children, Mitchell, Jake, and Mary Charlotte.

TERRY BRUNER—Terry has been a member of First Presbyterian Church since 2011. He is a Plastic Surgeon and practices in Anderson and Greenville. Terry has served in ministries which include Deacon, short-term Missions Subcommittee, multiple mission trips to the Dominican Republic, Wednesday Advantage Teacher/Facilitator, Foundations Sunday School Teacher and member, and Officer Nominating Committee. He is married to Christine, and they have three daughters, Kate, Anna, and Caroline. CAL HURST—Cal has been a member of First Presbyterian Church since 2013. He is the Regional Vice President of TD Bank. Cal has served on the Ignite Worship Search Committee and is a member of the Journey Sunday School Class. Cal is married to Casey, and they have two children, Chandler and Mary Ellen.

DEBBIE MARTIN—Debbie has been a member of First Presbyterian Church since 2013. She is a homemaker. She has served as a Children’s Ministry volunteer and is a member of the Grace Sunday School Class. Debbie is married to Robert, and they have four children, Rebekah, David, Abigail, and Miriam.

BOB AUGUST—Bob has been a member of First Presbyterian Church since 1996. He is a Tax Attorney with Merline & Meacham, PA. Bob has served in ministries which include the Ignite Worship Team and the Marriage and Family Committee, as well as serving as Chair of the Men’s Ministry Committee. He is a member of the Flock Sunday School Class. Bob is married to Doane, and they have four children, Diane, Robert, Jr., John, and David. JOHN BOMAR—John has been a member of First Presbyterian Church since 2014. He is a Commercial Underwriting Manager with Park Sterling Bank and is married to Kaitlin. John serves as Social Co-Chair of the Journey Sunday School Class.

COTY BRIGGS—Coty has been a member of First Presbyterian Church since 2014. He is a Financial Advisor with Edward Jones. Coty has served as an elder at a former church. Coty is married to Aften and they have three children, Mitchell, Jake, and Mary Charlotte.

TERRY BRUNER—Terry has been a member of First Presbyterian Church since 2011. He is a Plastic Surgeon and practices in Anderson and Greenville. Terry has served in ministries which include Deacon, short-term Missions Subcommittee, multiple mission trips to the Dominican Republic, Wednesday Advantage Teacher/Facilitator, Foundations Sunday School Teacher and member, and Officer Nominating Committee. He is married to Christine, and they have three daughters, Kate, Anna, and Caroline. CAL HURST—Cal has been a member of First Presbyterian Church since 2013. He is the Regional Vice President of TD Bank. Cal has served on the Ignite Worship Search Committee and is a member of the Journey Sunday School Class. Cal is married to Casey, and they have two children, Chandler and Mary Ellen.

DEBBIE MARTIN—Debbie has been a member of First Presbyterian Church since 2013. She is a homemaker. She has served as a Children’s Ministry volunteer and is a member of the Grace Sunday School Class. Debbie is married to Robert, and they have four children, Rebekah, David, Abigail, and Miriam.
