Enviably set in 2000 acres of landscaped ‘Capability’ Brown parkland and formal gardens, Blenheim Palace is the perfect venue to create a magnificent event. Blenheim Palace was a gift to John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough, from Queen Anne and a grateful nation. Following Marlborough’s great victory at the Battle of Blenheim in 1704, he was awarded the Royal Manor of Woodstock, accompanied by a sum of £240,000. Blenheim Palace is still the family home of the Dukes of Marlborough, lived in and much loved by the family. It was in 1874 that Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill was born in a small ground floor bedroom, adding another illustrious page to Blenheim Palace’s rich history. A house of true style and grandeur, Blenheim Palace is able to offer you hospitality of the highest standards, turning any event into a truly memorable occasion.

As your guests enter Blenheim Palace through the Woodstock gate the beauty of the Palace, the lake and bridge will never fail to impress. This view, according to Lord Randolph Churchill, is ‘the finest view in England’ and will live on long in the memory of any guest to the Palace. Blenheim Palace is surrounded by over 2,000 acres of stunning parkland and award-winning Formal Gardens. The splendour and tranquility of ‘Capability’ Brown’s landscaped Park and great Lake fringed by majestic oaks and maples is unrivalled in Britain. Over 100 acres of Formal Gardens include the recently restored Secret Garden, majestic Water Terraces, The Rose Garden and the Duke of Marlborough’s ornate private Italian Garden. Walks to the Grand Cascade or across Vanbrugh’s Grand Bridge to the Column of Victory take in views of the magnificent lake fringed by majestic oaks and maples, there is beauty to be found in all seasons.

FINE DINING IN THE PALACE

THE LONG LIBRARY The Long Library boasts the only private room in any British Stately home that can accommodate up to 300 guests for dinner with pre-dinner drinks served in The Great Hall & Saloon. Home to 10,000 books and the magnificent Willis organ, this room overlooks the beautiful Water Terrace with its sparkling fountains. THE GREAT HALL AND SALOON The Great Hall and Saloon work perfectly together to provide a spectacular dinner venue for up to 150 guests. Guests enter the Palace along the uplit colonnades into The Long Library and through the state rooms into The Saloon for a Champagne reception, before being invited to dinner by our Master of Ceremonies. The Saloon, with its walls and ceilings lavishly painted by Louis Laguerre, is the State Dining Room where the family still celebrates Christmas every year. It is possible to accommodate up to 80 guests for dinner and 150 for a drinks reception. The Great Hall also offers the perfect setting for a drinks reception and private tour of the Palace prior to guests having their dinner in The Orangery.

PRIVATE DINING AND EVENTS

THE ORANGERY & BOUCHAIN ROOM The Orangery is an exclusive venue with its private terrace overlooking the beautiful Italian Garden of The Duke and Duchess of Marlborough, where guests can enjoy a champagne reception with a difference. The exclusivity of The Orangery is further enhanced by its private entrance and by the fact that it is an area not accessible to visitors. The Orangery is a beautiful, elegant room with high ceilings, huge arched windows and a glass panelled roof, which makes it delightfully light and airy, giving a wonderful sense of space. With an under-floor heating and air conditioning system, the temperature in The Orangery can be completely controlled for the comfort of guests. The Bouchain Room houses our bar and adjoins The Orangery. Here guests can enjoy mid-morning coffee or a drink prior to lunch or dinner. The Orangery can hold up to 200 guests for a sit down meal or 400 guests for a drinks reception. THE MARLBOROUGH ROOM Originally the Palace kitchen this room has a beautiful double vaulted ceiling rising to the full height of the Palace. With two stunning chandeliers and a huge fireplace, this room can accommodate up to 60 guests for a private lunch or dinner.

THE RAMILLIES

CONFERENCE, MEETINGS AND EXHIBITIONS

THE ORANGERY & CAMPAIGN ROOMS Originally the Estate Office, The Campaign Rooms have been recently refurbished and developed, offering our guests private meeting and syndicate rooms. The Campaign Rooms are all named after famous Blenheim Battles. The Oudenarde, Ramillies and Malplaquet Rooms can accommodate between 12 and 18 guests’ boardroom style. The Orangery was refurbished into a private function room in 1996 and can hold up to 250 delegates theatre style. The Orangery & Campaign Rooms are an interconnected suite of rooms, which can be used individually for conferences, dinners and syndicate rooms or together for exhibitions and product launches. All of the rooms have natural daylight, with views of the magnificent Italian Garden. Any event at Blenheim, be it a corporate conference or dinner can be further enhanced and made even more memorable with a Palace tour.

THE MARLBOROUGH ROOM Originally the Palace kitchen this room has a beautiful double vaulted ceiling rising to the full height of the Palace. With two stunning chandeliers and a huge fireplace, this room can accommodate 120 delegates theatre style, 30 delegates u-shape and 48 delegates cabaret style. THE SPENCER CHURCHILL ROOM The Spencer-Churchill Room is a completely self-contained traditional and elegant meeting room with a private entrance and foyer, which can accommodate up to 70 delegates theatre-style and 28 boardroom style. With large windows and window seats, the Spencer-Churchill Room, located on the second floor, enjoys spectacular views over Blenheim Park, Capability Brown’s lake and Vanbrugh’s Grand Bridge. THE COURTYARD ROOM The Courtyard Room was originally an equestrian centre, located in The Stable Courtyard. With a beamed ceiling this room has been recently opened up for art galleries and exhibition space.

DRINKS RECEPTIONS There are a variety of beautiful rooms and areas suitable for you to enjoy a glass of wine or champagne: You can utilise the private Italian Gardens Terrace, the Colonnades or enjoy your drinks reception within the Palace State Rooms. The Water Terraces with its own Champagne bar is the ideal place to have your drinks reception enjoying the beautiful formal gardens. MARQUEE EVENTS For those occasions when numbers exceed 300 for seated dining it is possible to construct marquees on the South Front of the Palace. With pre and post dinner drinks in the Palace itself, the splendour of an evening at Blenheim is not lost. The South Front, as with the rest of the Palace and its Parkland, lends itself to provide a unique backdrop for that special occasion.

Approaching Oxford on the M40, exit at junction 9 and follow signs to Blenheim Palace. From other directions take the A44 exit from the Oxford by-pass. There is unlimited free car parking for cars and coaches. The nearest main line train station is Oxford. The number S3 bus runs from the station to Woodstock at approximately 30 minute intervals. Blenheim Palace is located approximately 20 minutes away from the city centre.
