WHAT IS
AYNHOE PARK? Aynhoe Park is available, for the first time in its history, for private hire. With its combination of classical and modern decoration, its scale, the beauty of the surrounding countryside and its exceptional transport links; it is the perfect house for your wedding. Being a family home, Aynhoe Park is only available for a select number of exclusive events each year. Licensed to hold civil ceremonies and civil partnerships as well as wedding receptions, Aynhoe Park provides a professional, bespoke wedding and event planning service. They will be on hand throughout the organisation of your wedding to offer advice, guidance and support as well as on the day. Aynhoe Park is a Grade I listed seventeenth century country house on the Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire border. The house has been rebuilt and remodelled throughout history, first by Thomas Archer in 1700 and then, a century later, by Sir John Soane.
YOUR HOST AND HIS COLLECTION
Its current owner, James Perkins, has re-invented the house, bringing it into the twenty-first century whilst remaining sympathetic to its history - and particularly sympathetic to Soane’s vision of what a country house should be. His restoration has been recognised by the Georgian Society, who awarded him a commendation in their 2009 Architectural Awards. Sir John Soane’s redesign of the house between 1799 and 1804 based the house on its succession of six public rooms, from The Orangery to The Library. Soane reconfigured these with large centrally placed doors and he installed windows to allow more light into The Library. The effect achieved by this was a noble sequence of spaces, culminating in The Library and seemingly infinite views of the parkland and estate beyond. James’s vision, that of a Modern Day Grand Tour, can be seen throughout the house with taxidermy, one of the world’s greatest collections of plaster casts and assorted artefacts which fully indulge a sense of theatre and adventure. As one progresses through the rooms, there are many surprises, and the visitor is left, as was Soane’s original intention, with a sense of awe.
YOUR WEDDING The house as a whole makes a spectacular setting for weddings of up to 150 people or numbers above in a marquee. Alternatively, the rooms can be used individually for smaller parties. The capacities of each room are as follows: THE ENTRANCE HALL Capacity Reception 75

WEDDING DAY TIMINGS
The timings below are based on a 3pm ceremony and are merely to demonstrate how your day might flow. 2.30pm Guests arrive prior to the ceremony. 3.00pm Ceremony. 3.30pm
Ceremony ends and reception drinks and canapĂŠs commence and photographs take place.
5.00pm
The wedding breakfast is announced and the receiving line takes place.
5.30pm The Bride and Groom are announced into the room, wedding breakfast is served. 7.30pm
Cutting of the cake and speeches.
8.00pm
Evening guests start to arrive.

First dance.

Evening buffet is served.

Music finishes and the bar closes.
BEDROOMS Aynhoe Park has twelve stylishly decorated bedrooms. Accommodation is only made available on an exclusive basis and not sold individually, so the house becomes your own for the duration of your stay. Breakfast and butler service are included.

Wedding planner, Invitations & Service Sheets Arrange to visit printers and choose your style of invitations. If you wish to have the invitations designed, start planning now. Plan place cards, seating cards, menus, service sheets and favours. Place your order for invitations and stationery.
Invitations Send out invitations at least seven weeks before the day. Make a list of acceptances, refusals, special requests. Confirm any hotel arrangements for guests who require accommodation other than that of Aynhoe Park.
Attendants gifts Choose thank you gifts for your attendants and best man.
Honeymoon Check if you require any visas or inoculations.
MONTHS AHEAD
Name Changes If you are changing your name, allow time for a new passport to arrive. Notify your bank or building society.
MONTHS AHEAD
Wedding announcement Send wedding announcement to your chosen newspaper.
Honeymoon clothes Buy any clothes for your honeymoon.
Presents Start sending thank you notes as gifts arrive.
Grooms & going away outfits Purchase or reserve the groom’s outfit. Arrange the hire of the best man’s and other male members of the bridal parties outfits.
Marriage licence Obtain licence.
Ceremony If you are marrying in a church or synagogue, arrange to see the minister about the service, music and readings. If you are getting married in a civil ceremony at Aynhoe Park, discuss music and readings with the registrar. Wedding cake Choose the style of cake and place your order Wedding Rings Order or purchase wedding rings. Transport Arrange any necessary transportation.
Hair and makeup Make an appointment with your chosen hairdresser and beautician to discuss your requirements. Gifts for the bride and groom Choose presents for the bride and groom, and for parents of both parties.

BEFORE
Travel, honeymoon & hotel arrangements Confirm all these details. Arrange who is going to deliver your cases to the reception. Arrange any foreign currency. Book taxis to pick you up from the hotel to the airport or station for your honeymoon.
Wedding Dress Pick up your dress or have it delivered. Try on your entire outfit including head dress, underwear and shoes.
Beauty treatments Have a facial and massage to relax, have a trial with your head dress and makeup. Caterer Confirm final numbers. Dress and Shoes Arrange for final fitting. Most brides will lose weight before the wedding day, so if you are not happy and feel that you may lose a few more pounds; tell your designer or fitter. Start to break in the shoes at home.
Honeymoon Start packing for your honeymoon.
THE DAY BEFORE
Seating Plan Probably the most difficult task to arrange, so start to think about it. Write seating and place cards.
Rehearsal Have a rehearsal if possible.
Speeches and Toasts Start to write speeches.
Beauty Have a manicure and pedicure. Presents Give presents to your parents and bridal party and a note of thanks for their support.
