LOCATION Moor Farm Cottage sits in the heart in this attractive and well-served Warwickshire village. There are two public houses both with restaurants (and plenty more in nearby villages), a doctors surgery with a dispensary and a primary school with pre-school and after school clubs, along with a nursery for younger children; the latest Ofsted report rated the school as outstanding. The village boasts a large general store which includes a Post Office and off-licence and acts as a focal point for village information. The village hairdresser is based next door. The imposing parish church has regular services and a number of associated activities such as a bell ringers and Sunday school. At the bottom of the hill the village hall is in regular use for meetings, entertainment, exhibitions and community functions. There are two recreation areas which include a play space for young children, cricket and football pitches and a skate-board park. There is a regular bus service to Coventry, Rugby, Leamington and the surrounding villages and there is even a vibrant village garage for servicing and MOTs. Stretton-on-Dunsmore really is excellently situated in terms of its communications with nearby dual carriageway links to the M1, M6 and M42. Rugby and Coventry, both about twenty minutes away, have Virgin high speed rail services to London, Birmingham and beyond. The community is not affected by the governments proposed new high speed rail line. It’s a busy village with a natural community spirit which misses no opportunity to get together for fetes, garden shows and festivals.
