Even if you have no intentions of getting into a street fight, at times it can be unavoidable. Hence, here are some street fighting tips that are simple. They will help you defend yourself in the fight and also allow you to put your opponent out of action, so that you can make your escape. 1. If you happen to be in a situation that could boil into a street fight, it is important to check your surroundings out. Look for things you can use as a weapon to defend yourself and also be knowledgeable about the escape route in case you get outnumbered during the fight. 2. If you are threatened by a person, first try to defuse the situation. Talk to the person and try and calm him down. If you have offended him without knowing, this is the right moment to apologize. Do not sit on a high horse. However, be sure not to let your body display any signs of fear, as it will cause the person to bully you even further. 3. If the fight is unavoidable, do not wait for your opponent to land the first punch. Instead you should act quickly. Be the first one to hit your opponent and try to inflict maximum damage.

4. Take a fighting stance at once, so that you are standing stably and will be able to assume a defensive or an offensive position quickly. Assuming a fight stance also shows your opponent that you are not frightened or afraid and this can at times end the fight there and then. 5. When hitting your opponent, look to hit areas that will hurt the most, such as temples, groins, chin, nose, throat, back of the neck and head. Use all fighting methods, namely punching, kicking, hitting and grappling. 6. If you are taking a defensive position in the fight, keep your distance from him. This means that your opponent has to come to you to hit you. And, if you opponent cannot hit you, he definitely will be unable to hit you. 7. If you want to be offensive, make sure you are extremely close to your opponent, so that you can hit him or block his attack as and when needed. 8. Be sure to stay relaxed, as a stressed body means that it will not react quickly. 9. Follow your opponent's every move, so that whenever an opportunity arises, you can strike him. 10. If you are outnumbered, it is best to head for the closes exit instead of letting a whole gang of people beat you and send you to the hospital. This is a virtue a good street fighter should possess and is nothing to be ashamed of.
