LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR Dear Turner Center Members, We will once again be hosting Life Line Screenings for our members on Monday, July 1st. Life Line Screening is a leading, mobile health screening service, which offers potentially life-saving ultrasound screenings. We are happy to announce that Life Line Screening is working with us to provide our members $10 in additional discounts off of a screening package in addition to a $10 donation to the Bellevue Family YMCA and FiftyForward J. L. Turner Center. You will be receiving more information in the mail and we will also have information in the Turner Center Lobby as to how to sign-up for this upcoming event. I thought it would be helpful for me to explain the costs that are involved in planning a day trip for our members. It may seem like it is only the gas that would be factored in to the price of the trip, but there are actually several other things to take into consideration. Just so you have an idea, when we plan a trip we also include the cost of a ticket/meal for the driver, gas, insurance, and maintenance for the vehicle as well as staff support. I hope that you find this information helpful! Also, if you love to drive and would be interested in being one of our volunteer van drivers, please let us know. We are currently recruiting for a few more people into this very important volunteer position! Finally, we are excited to announce that in May we will once again be putting out our “giving tree in the Turner Center lobby. The tree will contain supplies that the Turner Center could use donated to help keep our costs down. Please consider taking one of the flowers off the tree and donating that item back to the center. Thank you in advance for considering donating to this project. All the best, Megan P.S. Just a reminder that the Turner Center will be hosting an Open House and Art Show on Friday, 5/3/13 from 9-11am. A representative from many of our groups will be discussing their activities and giving out more information about what they do. Additionally, we will have students from our watercolor and calligraphy classes displaying their beautiful artwork. We hope to see you there!
