LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR Dear Turner Center Members, We hope that you had a wonderful summer! The staff is in the process of planning many fun events for the fall. We have something for most people's interests and hope that you will join us for one of our trips, classes or presentations. This month, we will be administering a Member Survey that has been created by FiftyForward to administer at all the centers. We will use the information from these surveys to continue to improve the programs and services we are offering our members. Please complete one of these surveys and turn it in to an Ambassador or FiftyForward staff member prior to September 30th. I am very excited to announce that we have hired a new Program Coordinator at the Turner Center, Candace Waligora. Candace comes to us with more than 4 1/2 years of experience working as a social worker in two different nursing homes. She is also an artist and will be teaching some art classes starting in the fall. In addition to teaching art, Candace will be driving for the Transportation Program as well as helping out with other projects. Please join us in welcoming Candace to the Turner Center! We are once again pleased to offer Spanish classes taught by a Turner Center member, Alpina Lopez. Beginning on Thursday, September 5th, Alpina will be teaching two classes at the center. At 10am, Alpina will teach a beginners class for those who have not taken Spanish previously. Or you can choose to join the 11am group which will be a conversational class where you will have the opportunity to practice your Spanish language skills with other learners. These classes are filling up quickly, so reserve your space today! Enjoy the start of Fall, Megan
