LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR Dear Turner Center Members, It is hard to believe that the holidays are already upon us! The staff at the Turner Center and the rest of the FiftyForward family would like to wish you and your family a happy, healthy holiday season and a wonderful new year! Are you feeling in the giving spirit this holiday season? If so, there are several ways in which you can help the Turner Center as well as members of the local community: * We are participating in a holiday gift and toy drive to benefit veteran and military families at the Nashville Vet Center. You will find additional information in the newsletter about this opportunity to provide support to those who have served our country. * In December, the Turner Center will once again be putting up our "Giving Tree." Please consider taking one of the ornaments off the tree, buying that item and returning it to a member of the staff. These donated items significantly help defray the costs for things we use for the numerous social activities that we plan at the center. * Did you miss out on an opportunity to purchase a "Loving Hands" cookbook last year? Do you need another one for a gift? We will once again be selling these unique cookbooks which feature recipes from our very own members. They are only $18 and help support our Transportation Program! We are excited to announce that starting in January, 2014 you will notice some significant changes to the format of our monthly newsletter. You will see a more condensed version of this document, but it will still contain all of the vital information that you need to know about what is happening at the center. We hope that you will find this new format easier to read! Happy holidays, Megan P.S. Just as a reminder, in the event of inclement weather, FiftyForward follows Davidson County’s school closing schedule. Turner Center programming will be cancelled, but please call the YMCA concerning SilverSneakers classes.
