L. Turner Center is a partnership between the YMCA of Middle Tennessee and FiftyForward.

LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR Dear Turner Center Members, We hope that you will join us this month and beat the heat of the summer! We have planned all of our activities so that we can keep cool during this hottest month of the year. In addition to several fantastic day trips this month (all of which are inside and well air-conditioned), we will be featuring presentations on Identity Theft, the Affordable Care Act, Long-Term Care Insurance, FiftyForward's Victory Over Crime Program, Gluten and a Yoga demonstration. Continuing with the theme of doing many indoor activities in August so we can keep cool, we are premiering our Fun Friday! event on Friday, August 16th at 11:45am. Each month, we will play a different game and this month's selection is Bunco. Before we play the game, we will have boxed lunches which are being generously donated by Chaffin's Barn. So start your weekend early at the Turner Center and bring your friends for a fun afternoon of food, games, laughs and prizes! In case you are looking for some additional interesting trips to keep you busy, Joan Sincerbox (On the Road with Joan Travel Coordinator) has some great trips planned for the coming months. In August, Joan will travel to Edgar Evin's State Park on Center Hill Lake for a riding guided tour of the state park. For September, Joan will be taking a group to the Historic Cookeville Train Depot Museum and in October she will travel to Granville for Scarecrows of the Past. For additional information about these tours, please pick-up a flyer in the Turner Center Lobby. I wanted to let you know that we are going to implement a policy in which we need a minimum number of 7 members to sign-up and pay for a trip in order for it to go forward as planned. In the event that we have not had at least 7 people sign-up 48 hours prior to the trip, we will notify you that the trip is being cancelled. You will then be issued a credit for the amount that you paid for the trip which can be used towards a future class or trip at the Turner Center. So grab your friends and sign-up early for one or several of these fun trips - you won't regret it! We do not anticipate this happening very often as many of our trips sell out in a matter of weeks. Have a great rest of your summer, Megan

Half the town has been excited, the dress is fitted, the flowers have been ordered, and the gifts are piling up in the living room. So why does Harline still have cold feet? Will they or won’t they? That is the big question in Southern Fried Nuptials, the hysterical sequel to Osborne and Eppler’s hit comedy, Southern Fried Funeral.
