SCHOLARSHIP ESTABLISHED AT FORT HAYS STATE UNIVERSITY TO HONOR LONG-TIME EMPLOYEE WHO BATTLED CANCER The Cheryl Helget Memorial Scholarship was set up at Fort Hays State University to honor the life of a long-time dedicated FHSU staff member who passed away from breast cancer last spring at the age of 54. Several of Helget’s former coworkers, including Mark and Patti Griffin, Mark Cook and Bev Unruh, decided to establish the fund to pass along Cheryl’s passion for education.
