Approximately 2,000 laborers in Taiyuan, China displayed their frustration with their workplace through a massive and violent riot on Sept. 23. The riot occurred at a Foxconn facility. The company is infamous for a series of worker suicides that happened in 2010. That scandal alone generated its own campaign to improve working conditions in Chinese industrial settings, but clearly there are still grievances to be had with largescale employers in China. The goal of this law is to help provide children with healthier and more nutritious food options, educate children about making healthy food choices, and teach children healthy habits that can last a lifetime, according to the United States Department of Agriculture.
