time travel into the ancient villages to find famous people and visit parks and museums A fascinating journey to discover beautiful landscapes, full of history, traditions and magical places where myth and reality melt together. The first stop during the route take place right in the Magna Graecia’s heart, a place that could be considered as a naturalistic coffer, full of archeological evidence: Metaponto with its Tavole Palatine and Policoro with Siris Archaeological Park of Herakleia. The journey continues into the surreal frame of Craco and Tursi, the former a “ghost town”, a medieval village and set of many historical movies, the latter an old Saracen village, inextricably linked to the poetry of the great Albino Pierro. The presence of the literary park dedicated to him, the majesty of Santa Maria d’Anglona sanctuary and the famous “Rabatana”, the

Arabic quarter, makes Tursi one of the most beautiful and mysterious place of Basilicata. The tour then moves toward Aliano, the famous fascinating village of badlands and painter-writer Carlo Levi. Continuing along the 598 highway (Fondovalle dell’Agri) you come to the center of Montemurro, a village connected to the figure of the poet engineer Leonardo Sinisgalli and become cultural center with the establishment of the Foundation in his honor. At the end of this unique and fascinating experience, the journey ends in Grumento Nova, the ancient Roman city, in which is set the Archaeological Park and the National Museum of the Val d’Agri.
