MISSION TRIP INTEREST LUNCH/MEETING: There will be a luncheon on Sunday, May 3rd following morning worship in the CMC. Anyone interested in being a part of a summer mission trip is invited to attend the luncheon.
YOU’RE INVITED: The Eighth Annual Civil War Reenactment at Fiddler’s Green (3105 Roy Webb Rd.) will be Saturday, May 2nd and Sunday, May 3rd; rain or shine. There will be house tours, period food made on site, a battle at 2:00 on both days with cannons, a barn burning, a concert at 2:45 following the battle, and a Victorian Ball at 7:30 p.m. Saturday evening. THIS YEAR WE WILL HAVE MOUNTED CAVALRY AGAIN! Sunday morning there will be a church service in the camps and a battle at 2:00. There will be photographs taken on both days by ambro-type photographic artist Wendell-Decker from Bowling Green, KY – very interesting to watch! www.wix.com/VintageImageStudios/Wendell-Decker. We will also have a period weaver, leather works, old fashioned-homemade birch beer, root beer, and vanilla cream soda, and several artists with period crafts on display. There will also be period clothing for sale and a blacksmith with handmade forged items for sale. Soldiers would like for students and adults to take a tour of their camps to get a glimpse at life during the 1860’s; a great history lesson for all! *We are asking for a three dollar donation to help with expenses. Go to our web site for more information. Click on the link that says “Battle”. www.fiddlersgreenalabama.com RELAY FOR LIFE: You may order a luminaria ($10 each) or a torch ($75 each) in memory or honor of a loved one. Forms for these orders are located in the church foyers. To purchase these please make checks payable to: American Cancer Society. Event starts at 6pm on May 8th at Oxford High School Stadium and Luminaria Ceremony begins at 9pm. This year, FBC Williams Relay For Life Team shirts will be in memory of Roy Barker (TEAM ROY). This will be an awesome tribute to an incredible man. Thank you so much for your love and support.
