Our Church is pleased to support CBF Global Missions in moments like these where bearing witness to Jesus Christ takes place through translation for the translator. "One Sunday in Moldova I saw a beautiful example of cultivating Beloved Community. Usually, when I am there, someone translates the worship services from Romanian for me--the pastor's wife Olesea or a young person like Dana. This helps me participate in the faith community. But what happens when a Romany pastor preaches in his own language? Chris Thomas 1:30pm Baby Shower-Casey & Ashley Barker 4:00pm Choir Practice BROTHERHOOD BREAKFAST: There will be a Brotherhood breakfast this Saturday, January 13th at 7am in the CMC. All males of the church are invited to attend the breakfast.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT SUPPER: If you do not have a standing reservation for Wednesday night supper and would like to join us this week, please call the church office (256-435-5020) by Tuesday to add your name to the supper list. Cost is $5 per person (age 6 & up) and $2 per plate (ages 2-5) and no more than $20 per family. Menu this week: Lasagna, Corn, Salad, Garlic Bread and Dessert. COOKS: Sarah Ann McGinnis Team
CBF GLOBAL MISSIONS: Total of donations received for Global Missions: $5,080 FOOD PANTRY DONATIONS: Donations for the monthly food pantry is an ongoing mission. Thanks for all the donations received to insure we continue this vital ministry to the community. Amount needed per month is $1499. Total Received for January: $1,254 BABY SHOWER: The ladies of the church will host a baby shower for Casey & Ashley Barker next Sunday, January 14th from 1:30 – 3:00pm in the CMC. Everyone has a special invitation to attend. Casey & Ashley are registered at Amazon, Buy Buy Baby, and Target. Psst…..It’s a Girl – Camilla Grace Barker! QUARTERLY BUSINESS MEETING: Our Quarterly Business Meeting reviewing the 4th quarter finances of the church will be held on Wednesday, January 17th immediately following supper.
