be yourself!

Financial Responsibilty It is important for students and parents to be as imformal as possible regarding to costs associated with obtaining a college education. Understanding the financial obligations associated with sorority membership is just important. During Formal Recruitment you should ask sosority members about financial obligations and payment options.

Choose a sorority in which you can see yourself hanging out with members in your free time, not just at sorority events Ignore gossip sites that rank fraternities and sororities. They are inaccurate and what sorority is best for you depends on YOU. Ignore rumors. Don’t rule out organizations before you meet them. Make a decision on what you think feels right. Learn all you can about each organization every night of recruitment. Prepare yourself for each night. Simply reflect on your likes, activities, hobbies, etc. so you’re prepared to talk about them. Trust your Recruitment Counselor and your own instincts. Befriend your Recruitment Counselor and other women in your Recruitment Counselor group. Be as friendly as you can be (without being fake).

Questions You Should Ask!

Anything! If ever you don’t understand something, are feeling stressed, are confused, aren’t sure about an outfit, etc. your recruitment counselor is there to help! Asking questions can be helpful to gain more knowledge about an organization and to show interest. Some questions to ask include: WHAT DO YOU VALUE ABOUT YOUR SORORITY? WHAT OPPORTUNITIES ARE THERE FOR NEW MEMBERS TO SERVE IN LEADERSHIP POSITIONS? WHAT DOES YOUR NEW MEMBER PROGRAM LOOK LIKE? WHAT KIND OF SISTERHOOD EVENTS DO YOU HAVE? ARE DUES ALL-INCLUSIVE? WHAT IS EXPECTED OF ME ACADEMICALLY? WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR IN A MEMBER? WHY DID YOU JOIN YOUR SORORITY? HOW HAS YOUR MEMBERSHIP IMPACTED YOUR COLLEGE EXPERIENCE?
