FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Investing in Champions Annual Giving Fund
1. If I previously had a parking space in the Bragg Memorial Stadium parking lot, can I retain my same parking space? By participating in the Champions Annual Giving Fund, you will be allowed to retain your same parking space within the same purchase range of the parking space. 2. Are University donors eligible to receive the benefits associated with the Investing in Champions Annual Giving Fund? No. In order to receive the benefits associated with the Investing in Champions Annual Giving Fund, donors must make a minimum donation of $250 to this specific campaign to receive the outlined benefits. 3. If I choose to support my favorite Rattler team through the restricted sports-specific gift, will I receive the Champions Annual Giving Fund benefits (those outlined in the brochure and on the website)? No. The Athletics Department recognizes that some individuals have a special affinity for specific sport teams and we DO encourage you to support your favorite Rattler team; however, we cannot offer unrestricted annual fund benefits to individuals who designate their gift to a specific team. Donors who give to a specific sport team will still receive invitations to donor events and will be recognized in our donor roll call, as well as the Foundation’s annual report. 4. What impact does my donation to the Investing in Champions Annual Giving Fund make? The Investing in Champions Annual Giving Fund is the backbone of FAMU Athletics’ commitment to support the educational and athletic excellence of the 300+ studentathletes who compete for the Rattlers. The annual philanthropic support generated by the Investing in Champions Annual Giving Fund will cover critical areas of need including programmatic support, scholarships and special projects. With constantly rising educational and competitive expenses and the move to less Athletics’ revenue coming from University support, your philanthropic support is more important now than ever before. 5. Why is Investing in Champions Annual Giving Fund needed? a. This new program allows us to streamline and define the process of distributing benefits. b. The new program allows us to provide an increased level of customer service and acknowledgement of support to our most loyal fans. c. The need for private, philanthropic giving is greater than ever as we invest in our long-term potential and strive for excellence in all we do. Your gift makes a difference! d. Participating in the Investing in Champions Annual Giving Fund demonstrates your commitment to providing the necessary funding for scholarship and programmatic support for over 300 student-athletes while also helping to supplement other critical priorities. e. Your annual fund contribution will serve to establish a valuable foundation of support on which all Rattler Athletics programs can thrive. 6. Are the donations received used only by the football program? No. Gifts to the Investing in Champions Annual Giving Fund are unrestricted gifts used for programmatic support, scholarships and special projects associated with all 16 of our varsity sports. 7. Are my gifts to the Investing in Champions Annual Giving Fund tax deductible? All gifts made to the Investing in Champions Annual Giving Fund that result in any Game Day Benefits will receive a receipt for your tax deductible portion. At all times the Athletics Department recommends contacting your tax advisor to determine the proper charitable deduction. 8. Am I required to accept the Football Season Tickets provided to me in the various packages? You may waive receipt of the Football Season Tickets provided in the various packages in exchange for a $50 per ticket flex credit. You must waive receipt of the football season tickets included in the benefits to receive the flex credit. Please contact the Rattler Ticket Office for more information 9.
