Family Justice Center Alliance

New Members of the Alliance Team Jena Valles joined the Family Justice Center Alliance team in June 2011, and serves as Administrative Assistant. Before joining the Alliance team, Jena lived in Boston, Massachusetts. She graduated from Keene State College located in New Hampshire with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. She also attended York St. John University in England for a semester abroad during which she studied the Business Environments in the Single European Market. Natalia Aguirre joined the Family Justice Center Alliance team in September 2011 and serves as the Assistant Project Director of the California Family Justice Initiative. Before joining the Alliance team, Natalia worked at the National Alliance for Hispanic Health helping carry out the Mobilizing Communities to Reduce Diabetes initiative a national program helping raise awareness about diabetes in the Hispanic community. She also worked with the Cultural Proficiency project, attempting to raise awareness of the importance of cultural proficient materials when providing services to minority communities. Natalia has interned at the Department of State in Washington, DC where she researched and edited the human rights reports, focusing on the women’s rights, as well as the LGBT community in the Middle East. Natalia received her BA from the George Washington University in International Affairs, Conflict and Security. During her time at GWU she learned Arabic and studied in Cairo, Egypt. Karianne Gwinn recently joined the Family Justice Center Alliance team in September 2011 and serves as the Children’s Program Coordinator at the Family Justice Center. Prior to her work at the Alliance, Karianne studied communication and music at Seattle Pacific University where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree. She is passionate about creative arts including jewelry design, songwriting, and many others. Karianne believes that creative expression is an important aspect to the healing process and works to incorporate this at the San Diego Family Justice Center.
