14th Regional Selection Conference of EYP CZ Olomouc 2023
THE HEAD ORGANISERS
Welcome! We are Kamila and Theo, and it is our uttermost pleasure to introduce to you our upcoming 14th Regional Selection Confe- rence of EYP CZ, which will be held in the picturesque historical city of Olomouc between 30 November (the CMOJ day) and 3 December 2023. We are very much looking forward to the session and would be excited if you decided to join us.
We first met each other at an EYP conference in 2021 and then became great friends as Organisers of last year's RSC in Hradec Králové, where we enjoyed our joint work and started thinking about achieving something greater. We both love challenging our- selves and becoming HOs seemed like the next natural step.
“Designing Europe’s Future”
The Conference’s motto deals with topics of sustainable technology development with a special focus on the environment (and ways of managing natural resources). The principal aim of our Conference is to highlight and draw attention to these topics while promoting active discussion around them. With the common theme with our sister RSC being: “Raising the future of Europe”, we believe that the best place to start shaping the European future is from the youth.
The session logo and colours highlight this motto, with the little “revolving fish” resembling the endangered species of salmon and symbolising sustainability while simultaneously creating the letter O (for Olomouc).
OUR EXPECTATION FOR THE EDITOR
Since everything published from the session will stem from the Media Team, the Editor should be creative while also being a competent leader who gets thing done. They should ensure that all work is done accordingly and in the best possible quality while maintaining a healthy work attitude and the wellbeing of everyone. All media members should be led to reliable and equipped with the required skills. We would like your team to be not only reliable, but also tremendously creative and able to harness their and the sessions’s potential by inspiring and learning from themselves.
EYP CZ session always have a tree-headed Editorial Leadership with either 1 Editor and 2 Editorial Assistants or 2 Editors and 1 Editorial Assistant – the form of the Leadership will be dependent on the applicants and their agreement. This Leadership oversees all the Media Team Members, of which there will be 8 at our session (as there will be 8 committees). The Media Team, while often overlooked, can give a lot to all participants by creating tangible, everlasting memories and we as Organisers will strive to support it to the fullest extent.

Inside the session Leadership, we will always discuss everything together and consider everyone’s opinion, but the editorial reigns will always be in your hands. Wellbeing and communication are an important topic to us therefore we will encourage fluent, informal, supportive communication and hope that you will do the same both inside the Leadership and your team.
