For example: Wearables will see plenty of growth with smart watches taking an increasingly large share, whilst fitness bands will continue to appeal to a niche market. According to GFK, 8 million consumers are going to be looking for a wearable within the next 8 months which is equivalent to ÂŁ2 billion in value. The areas of Smart Home that are seeing the greatest adoption and growth have been home security, lighting, energy-saving devices and home entertainment. Medium-term prospects for home automation remain positive with 98% growth currently forecast to 2019, with market value of around ÂŁ210m (AMA Research). Smart gadgets such as drones and robots will become increasingly prevalent in the commercial and consumer space as applications continue to grow. An article from the BBC focusing on CES 2015, states the drone market should be worth around ÂŁ86m in 2015 which is 50% larger than in 2014.
