CHRIS HARTSBURG Assistant Coach Chris Hartsburg, 31, is now in his third year as a Silvertips Assistant Coach here in 2011-12, which is his fourth overall season behind the bench after a six year professional playing career. Hartsburg entered the coaching ranks in the Central Hockey League in 2008-09, helping lead the Colorado Eagles to the CHL’s best record on their way to the President’s Cup Finals. In July 2010, Hartsburg served as a coach at USA Hockey’s Select 15 Festival in Rochester, New York, a camp designed to showcase the best talent in the United States in a high profile developmental situation. Before his transition into coaching, the Edina, Minnesota native spent his last four pro seasons playing center for the Eagles, where he helped Colorado win a pair of CHL Championships in 2005 and 2007. During that time he was honored with the league’s 2005 playoff MVP award and a selection to the 2007 CHL All-Star Game. During a four-year collegiate career at Colorado College, Hartsburg played in three NCAA Tournaments and was selected by the New Jersey Devils in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. He spent his first two pro seasons in the American Hockey League with the Albany River Rats, where he appeared in 91 games. Chris resides in Everett.

MITCH LOVE Assistant Coach/Strength & Conditioning Coach Mitch Love, 27, became the first former Silvertips player to come full circle with the organization this past summer, returning to Everett to begin his coaching career after retiring as a player. In his first coaching venture, Love will not only assist Mark Ferner and Chris Hartsburg on the ice, but will also supervise the strength & conditioning programs of all Silvertips players. A native of Quesnel, British Columbia, Love patrolled the blueline for Everett’s inaugural 200304 Western Conference Championship team before Captaining the 2004-05 squad in his final junior season. Despite playing only two years with the Tips, he ranks fifth in franchise history in career penalty minutes. Prior to his time in Washington, Love spent three WHL seasons with Moose Jaw and Swift Current, where he still holds the Broncos’ single-season penalty minute record (327 PIMs) after breaking Dave “Tiger” Williams’ 29-year-old franchise mark. After graduating from the Silvertips, Love signed a free agent contract with the Colorado Avalanche and went on to spend most of his six-year pro career in the American Hockey League. He appeared in 278 AHL games over five seasons, leading the league and setting a Houston Aeros’ franchise record with 34 fighting majors in 2008-09. Love concluded his playing career with the Central Hockey League’s Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs last season, finishing with over 900 career penalty minutes and 30 points in a total of 325 pro contests. Mitch and his wife, Jenni, reside in Mill Creek with their dog, Lexi.
