Bij de voorpagina Eurotoerist Poolparty Het wordt steeds gezelliger tijdens de poolparty’s in villa Eurotoerist. Elke zondag komen de werkers en ondernemers van verschillende horeca zaken en mensen van de reisleiding naar de villa om daar een middag te genieten van de zon, een drankje, de barbecue en natuurlijk het zwembad. Het bier van de tap wordt beschikbaar gesteld door Grand Café Costa en wordt er door het bedrijf Flügel Enterprises wekelijks een doos Flügel beschikbaar gesteld. De Poolparty is elke zondag tussen 14.00 uur en 18.00 uur in de tuin van villa Eurotoerist en is speciaal voor werkers, ondernemers en reisleiding in Salou. Het is wel een American party dus neem zelf ook wat lekkers mee.

Gratis internetten in café Mooi Sikke Ook als je op vakantie bent is het natuurlijk altijd leuk om even met het thuisfront te chatten of je mail te kunnen checken. Sinds dit jaar kun je in het gezellige café Mooi Sikke helemaal gratis internetten. Onder het genot van een frisje, een drankje of een kopje koffie kun je er op je gemak even je e-mail checken of gewoon wat rondsurfen op het World Wide Web. Ook
Spare Ribs in Costa Bar & Grill Afgelopen week werden we als redactie van de Eurotoerist weer eens uitgenodigd om lekker te komen eten bij één van onze klanten. Het personeel van Costa Bar & Grill wilde ons namelijk tracteren op een lekkere portie Spare-Ribs. Nu staat Costa Bar & Grill al sinds de opening dit jaar bekend om haar heerlijke gerechten dus dat lieten we ons natuurlijk geen twee keer zeggen. Terwijl we plaats genomen hadden in één van de gezellige bankjes werd de eerste portie Spare-Ribs op onze tafel geserveerd. Deze waren inderdaad zoals ons was beloofd erg mals, goed gemarineerd en lekker gegrilled. Wat ons betreft dus Spare-Ribs met een grote C van Costa. We lieten het ons dan ook heerlijk smaken. In

kenners van ‘s werelds populairste chatprogramma MSN kunnen zich in Mooi Sikke helemaal uitleven want de computers zijn ook uitgerust met MSN Messenger. Mooi Sikke is elke dag vanaf ‘s middags geopend en ze gaan tot in de nacht door. Op zaterdag en dinsdag zijn ze er extra vroeg geopend en kun je er vanaf 8 uur al ontbijten.

CoolDown@Crocs mag langer open blijven Sinds kort heeft de Nederlandse discotheek CoolDown@Crocs een speciale vergunning waardoor ze langer open mag blijven dan alle andere Nederlandse horeca zaken in Salou. Dit omdat ze in tegenstelling tot veel andere zaken een echte discotheek vergunning heeft. Waar andere zaken vanwege de vergunning eerder hun deuren moeten sluiten, mag CoolDown@Crocs nu door tot half 6 in de ochtend. Het is de eerste Nederlandse feestdiscotheek van Salou, die in juni haar deuren opende met de TMF Fiesta partij met televisie opnames en veel bekende artiesten.

lijkt op Flugel en The Fat Frog is een populaire mixdrank uit Engeland. Je kunt beide bestellen als shotje, per meter of liter en zelf in een emmer. Voor de liefhebbers van leuke spelletjes hebben ze er ook het oudHollandse kroegspelletje Spijkerslaan, waarbij je in groepsverband probeert om zo snel mogelijk je eigen Spijker in een houtblok te slaan. De Double Dutch vind je aan C. Virgin del Pilar, nummer 57 op de kaart.

Maar ook een uitgebreid Engels ontbijt is natuurlijk mogelijk. Verder staat Bruintje Beer onder andere al jaren bekend om haar malse saté, de Hollandse biefstuk en de spareribs. Nieuwe aanraders zijn de visserssalade, verrijkt met gerookte zalm, tonijn en calamares. Ook nieuw zijn de rib-eye steak en de Bruintje Beer super shaslick, die bestaat uit een grote vleesspies met diverse soorten vlees en kip. Alle gerechten worden vers bereid en geserveerd met groente, frietjes of rijst. Je kunt er dagelijks terecht van 10 uur ‘s morgens tot 12 uur ‘s nachts. Dit met uitzondering van de vaste aankomstdagen voor toeristen, de dinsdagen en zaterdagen want dan zijn ze al om 8 uur ‘s morgens geopend. Verder kun je er op je gemak een Nederlandse krant lezen en ook de Nederlandse TV staat de hele dag aan.

In de vernieuwde zaak club 007 hebben ze elke avond tussen 22.00 en 23.00 uur één of meerdere artiesten die zorgen voor een leuk stukje live top entertainment. Zo waren we afgelopen week te gast bij een fakir show. De show begon eerst nog vrij rustig met een demonstratie spijkerbed liggen. Daarna werd het allemaal wat spannender want toen kwam er een enkele meters lange albino python slang tevoorschijn waar de echte waaghalzen tussen het publiek zelfs mee op de foto konden. De finale van de show was een vuurspuwact waar we het echt warm van kregen. Wat ons betreft een erg indrukwekkende show, die je zeker gezien moet hebben.

Limburgse gezelligheid in café Double Dutch Double Dutch is een internationaal kroegje met een Limburgs tintje. Het knusse bruin café van de uit Limburg afkomstige Leon en Veronica, is het hele jaar open en een prima plek om de avond te beginnen want ze hebben er verschillende leuke aanbiedingen en een gezellig ruim terras. Een biertje kun je bijvoorbeeld voordelig op de bon krijgen. Normaal betaal je er 1,25 voor een biertje maar koop je voor 10 euro een bierkaart, dan betaal je slechts 1 euro per

Op 1 oktober aanstaande vindt in discotheek Asta in Den Haag alweer de elfde Salou Reunie plaats. Deze ultieme party, waar je na je geslaagde vakantie in Salou iedereen weer kunt ontmoeten, trok de afgelopen jaren inmiddels al 40.000 bezoekers. Tijdens dit superfeest zijn veel werkers, proppers en natuurlijk bekende artiesten aanwezig die je deze zomer in Salou tegen zult komen. Onder de bekende Nederlanders zijn onder andere Mental Theo, DJ Jose, DJ Maurice, Mark Van Dale, DJ Kicken, Rob Ronalds en DJ Cor aanwezig die er samen met een aantal bekende DJ’s uit Salou zeker een megafeest van zullen maken. Daarnaast vind op een groot projectiescherm ook de premiere plaats van de nieuwe DVD I Love Salou waarvoor deze hele zomer hier in Salou opnames worden gemaakt. Deze party mag je dus absoluut niet missen. Wie slim is koopt z’n entree kaart alvast in Salou want hier zijn ze een stuk goedkoper dan in Nederland en bovendien weet je dan zeker dat je naar het feest kunt want vol is vol. Hier in Salou betaal je voor een gewone entree kaart maar 15 euro en in Nederland 25 euro. Ook zijn er een aantal vip-kaarten waarmee je toegang hebt tot het vipdeck, waar de artiesten, de champagne en de hapjes zijn. Deze kosten hier in Salou 30 Euro en in Nederland 40 euro. Je kunt de kaarten kopen in verschillende zaken waaronder Cooldown@Crocs, De Heineken Hoek, Double Dutch, Bruintje Beer, Grand Cafe Costa, Costa Bar & Grill en Mooi Sikke. De Asta bevindt zich midden in het centrum van Den Haag en ligt op nog geen 10 minuten loopafstand van het Centraal Station. Voor wie met de auto wil komen is er genoeg parkeer gelegenheid want rondom de Asta bevinden zich verschillende parkeergarages. Augustus In de maand augustus zijn er nog diverse activiteiten in Salou. In het gezellige Ierse Danny Boy treden doordeweeks regelmatig live bands op zoals de pop rock formatie Sugar House Lane. Elke zondag is er in Danny Boy de Las Vegas Show, bestaande uit een Rat Pack en een Elvis optreden. Op één avond kun je dan genieten van de hits van Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Junior en The King Of Rock & Roll, Elvis Presley. Beide imitatoren zijn van grote klasse. In de vernieuwde Club 007 zijn er elke avond tussen 10 en 11 diverse entertainmentshows. Deze variëren van een Motown-Soul zanger tot een echte Fakir Show met slangen en een vuurspuw act.

De Nederlandse bars en feestcafees blijven de hele maand augustus open en ook de Nederlandse discotheek CoolDown@Crocs is in de maand augustus nog volop in beweging.
September De maand september staat in het teken van twee belangrijke feestdagen voor Salou. Op 7 september vieren we de feestdag van Koning Jaume 1. Op 6 september van het jaar 1229 vertrok deze ‘veroveraar’ vanuit de haven van Salou om Mallorca terug te winnen op de Moren. Salou is Koning Jaume 1 daar altijd erkentelijk voor geweest en vandaar dat de de belangrijkste boulevard van Salou zijn naam draagt. Sinds 1965 staat midden op de boulevard een monument voor deze held. Nog een belangrijke dag is 11 september, waarop La Diada, de feestdag van Catalunya wordt gevierd. Op 11 september 1714 werden namelijk de laatste Catalaanse opstandelingen door het leger van Philips de Vijfde
Deze maand begint gelijk met een feest want in discotheek Asta in Den Haag vindt op 1 oktober dit jaar de Salou Reunie 2005 plaats met veel bekende artiesten zoals Mental Theo, Rob Ronalds, DJ Maurice, DJ Cor en DJ Kicken. Op 5 oktober gaat in Barcelona de 5 daagse Ciné Erotica van start. Een beurs waarbij alle grote Spaanse producenten van sexfilms alles uit de kast trekken om show te maken. Deze beurs staat bekend als één van de wildste ter wereld. Op 12 oktober is Spanje in de ban van een grootse viering van ‘El dia de la Hispanidad’. Dit is namelijk de dag waarop Cristobal Colon, bij ons beter bekend als Columbus, in 1492 voet aan wal zette in Amerika. Ook andere Spaanstalige landen, met name in Amerika, vieren 12 oktober uitgebreid. Zelf heeft Columbus nooit geweten dat hij Amerika heeft ontdekt. Hij stierf in 1506 in de veronderstelling dat hij in Indië was geweest. Vanaf 15 oktober begint in Nederland de herfstvakantie en vindt ook het jaarlijkse zaalvoetbal toernooi in Salou plaats. Op zaterdag 30 oktober is de afsluiting van het seizoen 2005 in Salou en houden de meeste zaken tot maart 2006 een winterstop. Een paar blijven in de winter gewoon open, zoals Double Dutch, Danny Boy, Thissle & Rose en de Bus Stop.

Spare Ribs avonden in de Heineken Hoek Liefhebbers van spare-ribs kunnen hun hart ophalen in Dinny’s eetcafé De Heineken Hoek want daar hebben ze elke woensdag en zondag spare-ribs avond. Voor 13,50 euro per persoon kun je dan net zoveel spare-ribs eten als je wilt. Het geheim van het recept is dat de spare-ribs op een echte houtskool barbecue afgebakken worden, waardoor ze een unieke smaak krijgen. Natuurlijk staat de Heineken Hoek, die volgend jaar haar 20 jarig jubileum viert, ook bekend om haar overheerlijke saté van de haas, de Hollandse biefstuk en diverse belegde broodjes. Nieuw dit jaar op de menukaart zijn onder andere de American Filé préparé en Belgisch stoofvlees op grootmoeders wijze bereidt. Je kunt er de hele dag terecht voor zowel een lekker ontbijt als een uitgebreide lunch of diner want de Heineken Hoek is dagelijks geopend van 9 uur ‘s morgens tot 3 uur ‘s nachts.

Eigenaars Aswin en Sylvia stellen hun restaurant namelijk ook ter beschikking voor prive feesten. Een personeels uitje, een verjaardag of zelfs een vrijgezellen party inclusief striptease zijn één van de vele mogelijkheden waaruit je kunt kiezen. Je kunt de avond naar eigen wens invullen en in overleg bepalen welke gerechten en drankjes er tijdens de party aanwezig moeten zijn. De live artiesten in Danny Boy Liefhebbers van entertainment en goede muziek kunnen elke week hun hart ophalen in family bar Danny Boy hier in Salou. Onder de vele shows die ze presenteren is onder andere de Las Vegas show op zondag waanzinnig populair. Op één avond kun je namelijk genieten van de hits van Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Junior en The King Of Rock & Roll, Elvis Presley. Waarde collega’s, harde werkers en zwoegers, we zaten er weer midden in met z’n allen. De topdrukte waar we in het voorseizoen met smart op hebben zitten te wachten liet zich ook dit jaar weer zien en de meeste werkers en ondernemers hier in Salou staan dan weer 7 dagen in de week in de vijfde versnelling want dan moet het allemaal even gebeuren. Het sociale contact dat in het voorseizoen zo keurig opgebouwd werd omdat we toen nog tijd voor een gesprekje en een biertje hadden is teruggeschroefd tot een snelle ‘Hallo hoe gaat het?’, die altijd gevolgd wordt door een simpele: “Ja goed, met jou ook?”. Daarna volgt ieder weer zijn of haar weg want er moet gewerkt worden en tijd is hier in het hoogseizoen nou eenmaal geld. Nee, het is niet overdreven, we hebben het druk en dat maakt ons ook faalbaar. Iedereen die hier momenteel al een tijdje in Salou aan het werk is weet dat je in het hoogseizoen in een soort roes door je werk heen knalt. Hard werken, weinig slaap, snelle happen en ‘s nachts toch nog de nodige borrels als het ideale slaapmiddel tegen de zinderende hitte in je slaapkamer maken je snel minder allert en kunnen je zelfs ontzettend dom of arrogant over laten komen. Nu weten we zelf dat dit er in een plek als Salou gewoon bij hoort en gelukkig weten we daar ook mee om te gaan. Als cameraman neem je het die leuke dame in de bediening bijvoorbeeld niet kwalijk als ze door de stress 3 borden eten in je schoot laat vallen, in plaats van het gewoon voor je neus op tafel te zetten. Zelfs niet als je daarbij ook nog bedolven wordt onder een lading stroganoff saus. Het is druk, zoiets kan nu eenmaal gebeuren en daar heb je onderling begrip voor. Toch is ons gedrag voor de meeste vakantiegangers niet altijd even vanzelfsprekend. Voor een toerist is het bijvoorbeeld niet echt leuk als je de ene avond een leuk gesprek met ze hebt en de volgende dag niet eens meer weet waarover. Nog lulliger is het als je niet eens meer weet wie ze zijn. Beste vakantiegangers, we doen dit niet met opzet maar dit overkomt ons gewoon. Ook vrij pijnlijk zijn afspraken die domweg vergeten worden omdat we hier al maanden de tel kwijt zijn. Elke dag is in Salou als in Nederland een zaterdag dus tja... een afspraak op dinsdag is natuurlijk moeilijk onthouden. Helaas hebben wij er op de redactie ook vaak last van maar we hebben zo onze hulpmiddelen. We maken namelijk elke avond wel voldoende foto’s voor de Eurotoerist zodat we de volgende dag ons weer kunnen verbazen over wat we de nacht daarvoor weer hebben uitgespookt en wie we weer allemaal hebben ontmoet. Tja het is allemaal een beetje behelpen maar toch heeft het ook wel iets om zo door het leven te gaan want op deze manier wordt het nooit saai. Daarnaast hebben we één troost en dat is dat we straks weer als normale mensen kunnen functioneren. Als de grote horde toeristen over enkele weken weer allemaal terug zijn in hun eigen vertrouwde omgeving kunnen wij hier met z’n allen even stoom afblazen en zelf weer even genieten van Salou. Dan is er weer tijd voor een praatje en een gezamelijk biertje. Dus nog even volhouden collega’s, voor je het weet is het weer naseizoen.

Salou News Flash All the ins and outs of Salou
juicy Rib-eye steak, but we reckon that the Brown Bear's 'Super Shashlick' is the most amazing new addition. It is a big skewer with different types of meat; steak, bacon, chicken breast and pork fillet all coated in a delicious sauce. Some of their old classics will never fail to impress, so ordering some steak, Spare-Ribs or pork fillet Satay is always a good move. For your little ones they put together some different child's menus, so that even they don't feel left out. The restaurant can be found in the Calle Bruselas close to the illuminated fountain.

The Port Tower was erected in 1664 to protect the town from pirate attacks, it has been rebuilt several times over the centuries and is the symbol of the Cambrils sea front. The tower has recently been purchased by the town council and converted into a museum. In close vicinity of the tower you will find many seafood restaurants that use the freshly-caught fish that is brought in to the port every day by the Cambrils fishermen.
Idols, the new designer karaoke bar, is located in the Calle Falset. As the name suggests Idols is the place to be for anyone who likes to show off their singing talents. There is a big stage inside and pointed onto it are many lights and cameras. So if you're standing there singing your song everyone present will be able to see you. Not only the people close to you,

person you can eat as much of them as you like. The Spare-Ribs are being prepared on a real charcoal BBQ to give them that unique flavour. The Heineken Corner can be found in the Calle Barbastro.
Tabac Shop in old Salou If you bring goods on which tax has been paid in Spain, you do not have to pay any tax or duty on them in the UK. However any alcohol or tobacco you bring in must be for your own use and transported by you. This is the maximum you are allowed to have on you: 3200 cigarettes, 200 cigars, 400 cigarillos, 3kg tobacco, 110 litres of beer, 90 litres of wine, 10 litres of spirits, 20 litres of fortified wine (such as port or sherry). In the Tabac shop (Estanco) in the Calle Nord they sell all the popular cigarettes for a much better price than at home. Barbara and her colleagues will be glad to help you.
