Back here in our Brussels office, we are very busy with preparing the 19th ITS World Congress, and with just one month to go before the big kick off we would like to welcome you back with this new September edition of the ERTICO eMagazine. This month we focus on the ERTICO Partnership project FREILOT, a European co-funded pilot, which had its glorious final event in June and is now slowly coming to an end. First line personalities such as Zeljko Jeftic (Senior Project Manager, ERTICO & FREILOT project coordinator), Willem Hartman (Managing Director of Peek Nederland), and Gert Blom (City of Helmond) share with us their thoughts about the projects and reflect on these past 3 years. We also continue with our series of articles on international cooperation summing-up the latest green developments in China. We give an overview of the current situation of the transport policy in a country that despite being one of the most

polluted and polluting country on the planet, is trying to find solutions to reduce carbon emissions and move towards sustainable mobility. In our monthly interview we welcome Cubic Transportation Systems, a new ERTICO Partner. Martin Howell, Director of Worldwide Communications, explains Cubic’s activities in the ITS field and shares his view on the city and mobility of the future.
