the bath house is set into the ground, removing the majority of outdoor noise from the deepest part of the architecture. Ribbon windows distribute d throughout the space allow glimpses into adjacent rooms-- Each one sharing light with the surrounding rooms.

imbedded steel beams define the boundaries of a garden of gravel and sparse vegetation. as gravel falls onto the steel, it contributes to the existing symphony of the landscape. Sliding the doors inward and occupying what is usually a triangle’s least occupiable space, one enters into a dynamic form of changing light and shadow.

scholar’s retreat for students and professors to live and work within and amongst a variation of architecturally different buildings: wood, steel and concrete residencies and a pre-cast studio building. The garden is restricted to the beds atop concrete retaining walls. The smallest residencies contained beneath a steel canopy.
