Float in Perry 200 Parade on May 25

from NW PA Pride Alliance On Saturday, May 25, NW PA Pride Alliance and other groups will be participating in the Perry 200 Parade, which is expected to draw up to 100,000 people. Harrisburg rally for marriage equality June 22

from Marriage Equality for PA Marriage Equality for Pennsylvania in conjunction with numerous groups from across Pennsylvania will converge on the Capitol Building in Harrisburg. We will be gathering at 10 AM on Saturday, June 22 to show our support for a variety of on-going legislative actions taking place in the General Assembly. Among the bills proceeding through the Assembly are Pennsylvania House and Senate Bill 300 which will end discrimination against the LGBT community for employment, housing and public accommodations. Also before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Senate Bill 719 will grant marriage equality to the LGBT community and for all Pennsylvanians. Info: Joshua Szczesny at (814) 9233149 www.me4pa.

Candidate Forum a Success

from NW PA Pride Alliance On Thursday, April 18, NW PA Pride Aliance held a candidate forum at the AValon Hotel & Conference Center, 16 W 10th St, Erie PA for candidates for Erie County Executive, Erie County Council (Districts 2, 4 and 6), Erie City Mayor and Erie City Council. Candidates from both major party were invited. WICU TV 12 covered the event as part of their broadcast that night. About 70 people attended overall. Candidates from covered races attending included both Democratic candidates for Erie County

Always a treat! The 21st Annual Erie Pride Picnic will be held June 15 at the Rotary Pavilion at Presque Isle 1-6:00 PM. Please bring a covered dish to share. Executive, Kathy Dahlkemper (D) and Barry Grossman (D-Incumbent); All candidates from both parties for County Council District 2, Lisa Austin (D), Joe Giles (D-Incumbent), Renee Vendetti (D), Andre Horton (D), Dave Pamula (D), and Ned Smith (R); County Council District 4 included Jay Breneman (D); and Erie City Council candidates attended included Casimir ‘Caz’ Kwitowski (D), Dave Brennan (D) and Kathy Fatica, who represented Selena King (D). Also attending were candidate and representatives for races that were not covered, including Erie County Judge Candidates Joe Walsh and Bill Kelly Jr, and Erie School Director candidates Angela EuellMcNair and John Dundon.
