Who Says You Can’t Win Them All? This week Identity Travel revealed the results of a study that reflected all customer satisfaction surveys completed by tourists who participated in Identity’s Educational Tours during the first half of 2011. Perhaps the most dramatic revelation is that 100% of our customers said their overall satisfaction was high and that they would recommend the tour to their friends. The customers also were unanimous in their opinion that the tour was spiritually moving. The survey revealed that of the customers who participated in Identity’s current events on-tour workshops, 80% agreed that the workshops contributed to their understanding of Israel today. “Our goal is to provide 100% satisfaction and

SITE of the WEEK The“Belle Ofri” Tourist Center, in the farming community of Kidmat Zvi, is built as a reconstructed Roman-age village, including all major components: an oil press, granary, wine press, clay oven, wells and a restaurant constructed in the same manner that the farmers in Talmudic times used to build their homes. The village is surrounded by greenery – fruit groves, vineyards, a vegetable garden and more. In the summer, visitors harvest Shiraz grapes from the vineyard and stomp them in the reconstructed wine press. In the fall, visitors pick olives from the grove and make olive oil using the most ancient method, in the late spring visitors learn how the ancients cut the wheat and turned it into flour and prepare cheese from the milk of the goats.

Lailat al Miraj: The Night Journey

A PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS

For Muslim citizens of Israel will mark a Lailat al Miraj next week, one of the most significant events in the Islamic calendar that stands in the heart of Jerusalem’s controversy. It is the commemoration of the Night Journey that, according to Islamic tradition, the prophet Muhammad took during a single night around the year 621 B.C.E. It has been described as both a physical and spiritual journey. In the voyage, Muhammad travels on the mythological steed, Buraq, to "the farthest mosque" (associated with Al-Aqsa mosque atop Jerusalem’s Temple Mount) . There, he leads other prophets in prayer. He then ascends to heaven where he speaks to G-d, who gives him instructions on the number of times to offer prayers each day.

Mount Arbel (Hebrew: ‫ )הר ארבל‬is a mountain situated in the Lower Galilee near Tiberias in Israel, with high cliffs and spectacular views of the region that span from the Sea of Galillee to Mount Hermon. The site also includes trails to a cave-fortress and ruins of an ancient synagogue.
