In the reconstruction, there were also the other defendants of the case, Ali Imron, Abdul Ghoni,

Mubarok, Sawad, and Idris. All of them already sentenced for life by the court for their role in the Bali

Bombing tragedy.

The reconstruction was started at 6 am local time at a house in Menjangan Street, Denpasar. The House was being used to store explosive and made the bomb. From There, the defendants were carried to the Consul of US on Hayam Wuruk Street, Denpasar.

In that location, Ali Imron was using motorcycle and placed the

bomb in front of the US Consul.

The third location of reconstruction was Ubung Terminal. In this place, Idris and Sawad picked up Umar Patek who just came from Java.

Then, both of them took Umar Patek to a house in Gatot Subroto II number 11, Denpasar. There, they were planning the bombing in Kuta.

PARIS — French President Nicolas Sarkozy has dropped in on a maternity clinic in western Paris where news reports say his wife, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, gave birth to a baby girl.

The couple has been coy throughout her pregnancy, and his office has yet to make an official announcement about Wednesday’s birth or give the baby’s name.

Sarkozy visited the clinic three times on Wednesday, but the baby was likely born while he was in Frankfurt for a meeting on the euro debt crisis. He is to

go ahead with Thursday’s planned visit to France’s northern Normandy region.

It was the first time a French president has had a child while in office.

Sarkozy has three boys from two previous marriages, while Bruni-Sarkozy has one boy from a prior relationship.

Unfortunately, he did not mention in which country they were.

According to Sudikerta, though they were not in Bali, his party had contacted them via telephone. Indeed, there were no negotiations or value of compensation that should be paid by government. He further said the three landowners had already approved several agreements made by the underpass land acquisition team. The remaining process was the landowners should only accomplish a number of documents required.

As consequence, most of the money will be completely sucked out,â€? the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, University of Warmadewa (Unwar), I Wayan Arjana, told Bali Post, Wednesday (Oct 19).

According to him, there had been no significant multiplier effects of the souvenir markets because the absorption of local production was not well balanced with much money yielded. Moreover, not all local artisans were able to penetrate the business opportunities due to uncompetitive price. “Government should make obvious rules, how much percent they should absorb the production of local artisans. Additionally, it should include the number and distance of the business,� he said.

The most appropriate policy solution against such imbalance issue in the competition of traditional art mar-

kets and souvenir markets, according to Wayan Arjana, was resolved by implementing a zoning policy. By and large, it would ultimately restrict the amount of the business premises in a particular area. “Zoning policy system is carried out to limit the market power owned by larger souvenir markets. Then, the rules regarding the zoning system should be tightened in accordance with the circumstance of the surrounding community,� he added.

An industrialist who was also a former Chairman of the People’s Empowerment Agency (LPM) of Legian, I Nyoman Sarjana, also assessed the rapid increase of souvenir PDUNHWV ZRXOG PDUJLQDOL]H WKH H[LVWing traditional art markets. Likewise, the image formed as the center of souvenirs would be eroded, too. “Tourists will no longer think further or should go to Sukawati, Kumbasari or Guwang Art Market if they want to purchase souvenirs. markets. If it happens, the art markets will be automatically displaced,� he said.

He added that regulation on the ]RQLQJ DQG UHVWULFWLRQ QR ORQJHU H[isted. Many art shops in traditional art markets tended to turn deserted.

Similarly, they had become a stepping stone for consumers who would like to shop to the modern market.

Meanwhile, an economist, Prof.

Dr. Gede Sri Darma, said that restriction on the number of souvenir markets in Bali only lasted temporarily.

Creative and innovative ideas would become the absolute requirement if traders in the art markets would like to compete against the souvenir markets. “Local small-medium enterprises (SMEs) must be more creative in order not to be defeated by the competitors in the age of gap like nowadays. Australians cheer Queen Elizabeth during boat trip Associated Press Writer

CANBERRA,Australia — Thousands of people cheered and waved from the banks of the Australian capital’s central lake as Queen Elizabeth II and her husband, Prince Philip, took a motor boat to a flower show Thursday in their first public appearance of a 10-day tour of Australia.

The queen wore a lilac hat and coat and her husband a hat to protect against the late morning spring sunshine as they waved to well-wishers from the open boat beneath an almost cloudless sky. The couple, who arrived in Australia on Wednesday, appeared fresh despite the 11-hour time difference from their London home.

The fans who greeted the royal couple included Elizabeth Stewart, 83, who flew from her home in Lower Hutt, New Zealand, to see the monarch for the third time. Stewart first saw the queen when she visited New Zealand in 1954, less then two years after her coronation. The queen is the monarch of 16 countries, including Australia and neighboring New Zealand.

Stewart said she disagrees with the Australian government’s position that the British monarch should be replaced as Australia’s head of state by a president who is an Australian citizen.

“The queen gives us continuity,” Stewart said.

“Presidents come and go.”

Nils Lantzke thinks Australia should have a president, but decided to come to Canberra’s Lake Burley Griffin anyway with his alpaca, Honeycomb, which he takes to hospitals as pet

therapy for patients.

“I’m not really interested in her as queen of Australia,” Lantzke said. “If it was the king of Saudi Arabia who’d come to Canberra, I’d do the same — make him feel welcome.”

Canberra’s annual flower show had been extended to accommodate the monarch’s visit — her 16th to Australia since 1954.

The queen will visit Brisbane and Melbourne before opening next week’s meeting of the 54nation Commonwealth in the western coastal city of Perth. Leaders of the nations linked to Britain’s former empire, who meet every two years, will consider a range of recommended reforms, including lifting laws against homosexuality that exist in most Commonwealth countries.

The queen’s arrival in Canberra late Wednesday was front page news in Australia’s major newspapers on Thursday.

Prime Minister Julia Gillard, who argues the queen should be Australia’s last monarch, and Chief Minister Katy Gallagher, the head of the Australian Capital Territory government, who agrees that Australia should become a republic, were questioned by reporters Thursday on why they had not curtsied when they greeted the queen on her arrival.

Both Gillard and Gallagher replied that protocol allowed them to bow and shake the queen’s hand instead of curtsying.

“The advice to me was very clear that you can make a choice with what you feel most comfortable with; that’s what I felt most comfortable with,” Welsh-born Gillard told reporters.

China not seeking to top US: Lee Kuan Yew Agence France Presse

China is in no rush to overtake the United States as the world’s leading power but the two Pacific nations will need to find ways to work together, Singapore’s founding father Lee Kuan Yew said.

Lee, who built Singapore from a sleepy port into a global economic center, was visiting Washington where Tuesday he received an award named for Abraham Lincoln at Ford’s Theatre, where the Civil War president was assassinated in 1865.

In his acceptance speech, Lee said that historically wars have broken out when a rising nation -- such as China in the current era -- emerges to challenge the supremacy of the incumbent power.

“This is no longer possible when both China and the US have nuclear armaments,” Lee said, according to a transcript released Wednesday.

“It is my belief that the Chinese are in no hurry to displace the US as the number one power in the world and to carry the burden that is part and parcel of that position,” he said.

Lee said that China was “quite comfortable” in institutions such as the Group of 20 major economies, “where their views will be taken seriously and economic interests safeguarded, but the responsibility is shared amongst 20 member states.”

“In addition, as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, its broad strategic interests at the UN are safeguarded,” Lee said.

Lee said that the United States maintained a strong position despite its economic difficulties, pointing to American society’s ability to attract foreign talent and the strength of its universities.

But Lee said that Americans “have to eventually share their pre-eminent position with China.”

“The US should not see China’s inexorable ascent as a zero-sum game, but should find a way to work together, which will call for a combination of regular dialogues, hard negotiation and mutual reassurances,” Lee said.

Bali program wins Skal International Sustainable Development Award IBP

The Future ForChildren’’s development program for the arid Muntigunung area of Bali received the 2011 Skal International Sustainable Development Award in Tourism for Cities and Villages at the opening ceremony of the 72nd Skal International Congress held in Turku Finland.

Future for Children is a small Switzerland based not-for-profit aid organization active in the very dry and remote Northeast of Bali.

Skål International founded in 1934, is the largest organization of travel and tourism professionals in the world. It is the only association which embraces all sectors of the travel and tourism industry, in 90 countries on 5 continents, in over 500 locations, with 20,000 members.

To encourage the conservation of the environment and help to promote the development of respon-

sible and sustainable tourism, Skål International initiated the awards program in 2002. This year, Skal received a total of 33 projects, from 18 different countries.

The projects received were evaluated by 4 independent judges and the scores given by each separately, were added up to find the winners in each category. The primary criteria for the evaluation were contribution to the conservation of nature and cultural heritage, community involvement, educational features, business viability, and innovation.

T h e F u t u r e f o r Children’’sMuntigunung program, strongly supported by the Bali Hotels Association (BHA) was recommended for the Skal award by the 171-member Skal Club of Bali, the largest club in Southeast Asia and the fifth largest club in the world.

The Muntigunung program develops and executes strategies for poverty eradication by providing

water supply, income generation, and education through projects, which are supported by Bali hotels and their guests.

There’’s a breathtaking trekking adventure guided by the women who were formerly beggars; the production of cashew nuts and healthy rosella tea and sweets as wholesale, retail, and minibar products for sale to the members of the Bali Hotel Association and others properties; plus the production of lontar baskets and gourds as packaging.

The result is a sustainable poverty eradication program through partnership, which can be used as a role model in other places producing products that are price competitive and have a high quality to satisfy guests of the hotels as they participate in a joint action, which is visible and supports the development of the poorest region in Bali.

Balinese Temple Ceremony EVERY Temple and Shrine has a special date for it annual Ceremony, or “ Odalan “, every 210 days according to Balinese calendar, including the smaller ancestral shrine which each family possesses. Because of this practically every few days a ceremony of festival of some kind takes place in some Village in Bali. There are also times when the entire island celebrated the same Holiday, such as at Galungan, Kuningan, Nyepi day, Saraswati day, Tumpek Landep day, Pagerwesi day, Tumpek Wayang day etc.

The dedication or inauguration day of a Temple is considered its birth day and celebration always takes place on the same day if the wuku or 210 day calendar is used. When new moon is used then the celebration always happens on new moon or full moon. The day of course can differ the religious celebration of a temple lasts at least one full day with some temple celebrating for three days while the celebration of Besakih temple, the Mother Temple, is never less than 7 days and most of the time it lasts for 11 days, depending on the importance of the occasion.

The celebration is very colorful. The shrine are dressed with pieces of cloths and sometimes with brocade, sailings, decorations of carved wood and sometimes painted with gold and Chinese coins, very beautifully arranged, are hung in the four corners of the shrine. In front of shrine are placed red, white or black umbrellas depending which Gods are worshipped in the shrines.

In front of important shrine one sees, besides these umbrellas soars, tridents and other weapons, the “umbulumbul”, long flags, all these are prerogatives or attributes of Holiness. In front of the Temple gate put up “Penjor”, long bamboo poles, decorated beautifully ornaments of young coconut leaves, rice and other products of the land.

Most beautiful to see are the girls in their colorful attire, carrying offerings, arrangements of all kinds fruits and colored cakes, to the Temple. Every visitor admires the grace with which the carry their load on their heads.

Wrong body sent from Malaysia to Indonesia Associated Press

MEDAN — The parents of an Indonesian migrant worker who died in Malaysia say officials have flown the wrong body back home.

Friends of Simon Petrus Sitepu called his mother and father to say the 22-year-old died after being hit by heavy machinery while working at a palm oil plantation in Malaysia’s northern Kedah state.

The parents went to the airport Tuesday to collect what they thought was his body, but broke down in tears when they saw it. His father, Bener Sitepu, said it appeared to be that of a 40-year-old man of Indian descent.

Officials at Malaysia’s consulate in the Indonesian city of Medan acknowledged there was a mix-up.

The parents said officials told them they are now searching for their son’s body.

JAKARTA - Indonesia is fourth in world`s trade volume growth (after Egypt, India and Vietnam) with an average of growth expected to be 7.3 percent per year until 2025, a survey said.

According to a report from the HSBC Trade Confidence Index (TCI) and HSBC Trade Forecast announced here on Thursday, Indonesia`s trade volume in the next 15 years is expected to increase as much as 144 percent. The increase is said to be

2. Combine all vegetables, chili, grated coconut and fried shallots in salad bowl and mix well.

Lindsay Lohan could face 5th stint behind bars Associated Press Writer

LOS ANGELES — A judge revoked Lindsay Lohan’s probation and she was led away in handcuffs, after the actress was ousted from a community service assignment at a women’s shelter. She was released a short time later from Airport Courthouse after $100,000 bail was posted, according to her spokesman Steve Honig.

Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner hammered Lohan during a tense proceeding Wednesday and urged her to complete a minimum of 16 hours of her community service at the county morgue before her next scheduled hearing Nov. 2. At that time, Sautner will decide whether Lohan should serve her fifth stint behind bars. Lohan was released early due to jail overcrowding four previous times.

“There has been violation after violation,” Sautner said.

“We’re dealing with someone on probation,” said Lohan’s

attorney, Shawn Holley. “Most people on probation don’t always do things perfectly.”

A city prosecutor recommended jail time, but Sautner put that decision off until next month’s hearing when Lohan’s probation officer and other officials will testify about her efforts to complete her sentence. “If jail meant something in the state of California now, maybe I’d put her in jail,” Sautner said.

The development marked the latest legal problem for the 25year-old Lohan, who was given probation for a 2007 drunken driving case and a misdemeanor theft case this year. “Lindsay is hoping this matter will be resolved on Nov. 2 and the court will reinstate probation and allow her to continue fulfilling her community service,” Honig said.

Lohan had been ordered in April to serve 360 hours at the Downtown Women’s Center, an agency that helps homeless women.

You probably weren’t clamoring for a sequel to the 2003 British spy parody “Johnny English,” which was far more successful overseas than it was in the United States.

Still, here’s “Johnny English Reborn,” again starring Rowan Atkinson.

As the secret agent of the title, Johnny thinks he’s as suave and resourceful as James Bond. Mostly, though, he bumbles his way from one situation to the next with the help of all the obligatory weapons and gadgets, none of which is terribly clever or creative.

Johnny is back at the agency, MI7 (hardy har har), after a few years away with a bit of a stigma attached to him.

Seems he massively messed up an assignment in Mozambique, and his new boss, Pegasus (Gillian Anderson, trotting out her flat British accent again), lets him know she won’t tolerate those kinds of mistakes.

For his next job, Johnny must

find out who is behind a plot to assassinate the Chinese premier. And even though he’s been training in the remote mountains of Tibet all this time (in an admittedly amusing montage), Johnny still isn’t quite up for the challenge.

Director Oliver Parker’s film relies on much of the same tired, repetitive spy spoofs as the “Austin Powers” movies, and much of the same false confidence in the face of absurd danger. That any of this works, ever, is a testament to Atkinson’s skills as a comedian. You can sense him slumming and straining but he’s so gifted physically, he makes pretty idiotic material more enjoyable than it should be. Slapstick requires a delicacy and finesse that Atkinson most

certainly possesses, but the writing just isn’t there.

Rosamund Pike brings her usual combination of beauty and smarts to the role of the agency’s psychologist, and manages to provide a bit more substance than was available to her on the page. But even given her formidable presence, it’s hard to believe that her character would ever give Johnny the time of day, much less fall for him. Dominic West, meanwhile, co-stars as a fellow agent who is so obviously sleazy and menacing from the start, there’s nowhere else for his character to go.

Johnny English isn’t reborn so much as reheated, and his aim hasn’t improved after all these years. “Johnny English Reborn,” a Universal Pictures release, is rated PG for mild action violence, rude humor, some language and brief sensuality. Running time: 101 minutes. One and a half stars out of four.

RED BANK, N.J. — In three decades as one of the world’s biggest rock stars, Jon Bon Jovi has eaten in some of the world’s best restaurants, savoring the best food the planet has to offer. Yet there’s no place he’d rather have dinner than The Soul Kitchen, a “pay-what-you-can” restaurant he and his wife Dorothea established in a former auto body shop near the Red Bank train station in central New Jersey.

The restaurant provides gourmetquality meals to the hungry while enabling them to volunteer on community projects in return without the stigma of visiting a soup kitchen.

The restaurant is the latest undertaking by the New Jersey rocker’s Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation, which has built 260 homes for lowincome residents in recent years.

“With the economic downturn, one of the things I noticed was that disposable income was one of the first things that went,” Bon Jovi told The Associated Press in an interview Wednesday before the restaurant’s grand opening ceremony. “Dining out, the family going out to a restaurant, mom not having to cook, dad not having to clean up — a lot of memories were made around restaurant tables.

people in this country goes to bed hungry, I thought this was the next phase of the Foundation’s work,” he said.

It started several years ago when Dorothea Bongiovi (she uses the legal spelling of her husband’s name) and Jon started helping out at a food pantry at nearby St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church.

They later moved their focus to the Lunch Break program, which feeds 80 to 120 people a day, dubbing it “The Soul Kitchen.”

They brought that name with them to a former auto body shop down the street from the Count Basie Theater, where Jon and his self-titled band have played many fundraising shows for local charities.

Hawaii astronomer captures image of forming planet Associated Press Writer

HONOLULU — Astronomers have captured the first direct image of a planet being born. Adam Kraus, of the University of Hawaii’s Institute for Astronomy, said the planet is being formed out of dust and gas circling a 2-milion-year-old star about 450 light years from Earth.

The planet itself, based on scientific models of how planets form, is estimated to have started taking shape about 50,000 to 100,000 years ago. Called LkCa 15 b, it’s the youngest planet ever observed. The previous record holder was about five times older.

Kraus and his colleague, Michael Ireland from Macquarie University and the Australian Astronomical Observatory, used Keck telescopes on Mauna Kea to find the planet.

“We’re catching this object at the perfect time. We see this young star, it has a disc around it that planets are probably forming out of and we see something right in the middle of a gap in the disc,” Kraus said in a telephone interview.

Kraus presented the discovery Wednesday at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland.

Kraus and Ireland’s research paper on the discovery is due to appear in The Astrophysical Journal. Observ-

ing planets while they’re forming can help scientists answer questions like whether planets form early in the life of a star or later, and whether they form relatively close to stars or farther away.

Planets can change orbits after forming, so it’s difficult to answer such questions by studying older planets. “These very basic questions of when and where are best answered when you can actually see the planet forming, as the process is happening right now,” Kraus said.

Other planets may also be forming around the same star. Kraus said he’ll continue to observe the star and hopefully will see other planets if there are in fact more.

SAN FRANCISCO — The personal computer industry, already reeling from depressed demand, has been dealt another setback: Massive flooding in Thailand has curtailed production of a critical component — computer storage drives. Factories producing a third of the country’s hard drives have temporarily closed as flooding has gradually spread since August. Prices have spiked, and Apple warned that its Mac products will likely be affected.

Computer manufacturers, the companies that supply hard drives and the makers of components for those drives are all bracing for troubles. What’s not yet clear is what extent PC production lines will be affected and whether PC makers will absorb costs or pass them along to consumers.

Thailand makes about a quarter of the world’s hard drives and is the second-largest producer behind China, according to IHS iSuppli. Market research firm IDC estimates that the flooding

has already affected a third of the country’s output, equating to more than 120 million hard drives a year. Avian Securities says the slowdown is already leading to price spikes that have added several dollars to the cost of some drives.

The flooding has killed 317 people, mostly from drowning.

Nearly 9 million people have been displaced or otherwise affected.

Estimates of the economic cost were $3 billion and rising.

The setback is particularly acute for the computer industry because it follows other troubles.

Demand has slowed, particularly in the U.S. and Europe, because of debt and unemployment fears and the growing popularity of tablet computers, which causes many consumers to delay replacing PCs. In addition, the March 11 earthquake and tsunami in Japan hurt supplies of memory chips.

The biggest hard drive makers — Seagate Technology PLC and Western Digital Corp. — have warned of delays.

Marc Marquez to stay in Moto2 next season SPANISH rider Marc Marquez will stay in Moto2 next season, ruling out an early move to MotoGP despite his impressive campaign.

The 18-year-old has won seven races in his debut season in Moto2 and is just three points behind Stefan Bradl in the standings after his charge from 38th to third in last weekend’s Australian Grand Prix.

Marquez’s superb season has led to speculation about a possible move to MotoGP next year, but the Spaniard on Thursday confirmed he will compete

in Moto2 again in 2012.

“I’m still very young and the option to stay in Moto2 is the best for me,” he told Spanish television RTVE. “It’s true there have been talks with MotoGP teams and offers from a few satellite teams, but moving up is not the most intelligent thing right now.

“The best thing is to continue for another year as it was planned and gain as much experience as possible.”

The Spaniard, last year’s 125cc champion, admitted he was not expecting to be so competitive so quickly.

“The target we set at the start of the season was to grow and improve in Moto2,” he said. “What happens is that we have achieved a pretty high level ahead of what we expected, but the decision we can take is to stay where we are for another year, regardless of the results.”

McLaren upbeat about Indian Grand Prix chances McLaren says there is every reason to feel excited about the forthcoming Indian Grand Prix - because, as well as the prospect of having the new event on the calendar, it believes it has a good chance of victory there too. Formula 1 is preparing itself for its newest grand prix, with the Buddh International Circuit near Delhi set to host India’s first race on October 30.

McLaren team principal Martin Whitmarsh says his team is heading there relishing what is on offer, and upbeat that it can fight once again with Red Bull Racing for the victory. “I am expecting something exciting, I think we all are,” said Whitmarsh about the Indian GP. “It is a venue we have not been to, it is a

country we have not visited on the grand prix calendar, so it is going to be interesting.

“I think we felt quite strong in Japan, we felt quite strong in Korea, but Red Bull did a good job. Hopefully it can swing our way in India, and that is what we are trying to do.” The layout of the Buddh circuit will put a premium on both downforce and

straight-line speed, something Whitmarsh reckons should put McLaren in good stead.

However, hhe thi thinks thatt H k th unknown factors – such as the type of track surface – make it difficult to make too firm predictions beforehand.

“I don’t know until we get there, until we see the surface and until we see what it is like,” he explained. “There is no reason why we cannot be strong there, but I am sure Red Bull will be, I am sure Ferrari will be trying to beat us as well. I think that is the exciting challenge that we have looking forward to India.”

grips with the new track as quickly as possible, McLaren is also likely to spend some time in Friday F id practice ti ttrying i tto seek ka definitive answer on why Lewis Hamilton’s car suffered a front wing downforce loss in Korea.

Hamilton’s front wing lost 10 points of downforce during the Korean Grand Prix, which the team suspects was caused by tyre marbles getting stuck between the slop gaps in the wing – and affecting the air flow.

Keen to ensure that there will be no repeat in the future, McLaren may run some tests in practice to check that other factors did not contribute to the problem.
