Understand how access roads and pipelines affect the landscape.

Using the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation’s draft supplemental Generic Environmental Impact Statement GEIS, the Tompkins County Council of Government’s Mapping Working Group has developed a set of photos and maps to help residents visualize how drilling might change the landscape in this county. Based on rates of drilling development in Pennsylvania and using experts in Geographic Information Systems, the group hopes to provide a quick tour of areas where drilling is already active and what it might mean to our area.
