A different kind of school gets different results

OUR MISSION Our mission is to prepare students in grades 5 through 8 to compete, achieve and succeed in high school, college and beyond. V

Veritas Prep was founded in the belief that all children can achieve academic success, regardless of race, income level, family circumstance or current school performance. We opened to our first class of scholars in 2012 to put our belief to the test. Our scholars’ success is proof positive!

WHERE WE’RE GOING COLLEGE AND BEYOND

EXPANDING OUR IMPACT

We want to invest in the experience and achievement of our scholars and believe that teachers are the key. Thus, we are doubling down on teacher development to ensure every classroom is led by a high effective teacher who is driving results for our scholars. Additionally, we have revamped our compensation system to be more competitive so we can retain our tenacious and driven teachers.

Veritas Prep’s inaugural class are now juniors in high school taking A.P. classes and on the path to college. Unfortunately many are attending large high schools with little support. We need to ensure they stay on the path to college and overcome the social and economic barriers that could stand in their way. National data shows that college persistence is low among first generation college students. To realize our mission we must support our scholars through graduation.

We are growing to serve an additional 108 students across grades 5-8, total of 432 in Springfield. In 2018, we launched a second school in Holyoke, in partnership with HPS, which serves the two lowest performing elementary schools in their district and will serve 540 students. We will continue to explore ways to provide a world class education to underserved students in Western Mass.
