What’s Up with Key Renovations Last summer, Consumer Reports reported that more than half of homeowners were considering renovations in the coming year. A brave majority were going to tough it out on their own. However, a more sensible minority knew what you have already figured out ‌ leave it to the professionals. At Key Renovations, we value our outstanding clients who chose us to assist in realizing the dreams of their homes. Thank you for your business, and we look forward to working with you in the future. We Value Our Outstanding Clients

Key Renovations earned the 2008 NARI regional CotY award for the kitchen of this whole house remodel in Dallas, Texas.

IN THIS ISSUE> FEATURE STORY 2009 CotY Award-Winning Retreat Center The National Association of the Remodeling Industry awarded Key Renovations the National Award for Contractor of the Year in Commercial Specialty for our renovation of this retreat house in the Dallas area.

Before

Aw a r d - Wi n n i n g Re f l e c t i o n Greater Dallas Regional Winner and National Winners: Commercial Specialty The featured retreat house in Dallas, Texas, offers groups a place for conferences and other meetings and provides individuals a place for solitude and spiritual reflection. Originally, the utilitarian functional conference and classroom featured high-traffic carpeting, florescent lighting and generic blinds. Thanks to a generous donor, members were able to engage Key Renovations to create a dedicated library for secluded conversation, quiet reading and isolated reflection, with the over-all goal to supply a timeless setting that would look as good one hundred years from now as it would on the first day of completion.

Attention to detail was everything on the project. Knotty alder was used to create an aged look on the door. Handmade wainscot panels line the walls, capped by various moldings. The upper beams are tied to the wainscot by fluted columns, which are integrated into both the wainscot and the beams.

After

The wide door and low threshold make this room accessible to all who enjoy its ambiance. Lowered dimmable switches allow different moods to be set, and the furnishings for the library include almost all antiques.
