More than 440 full-time faculty members teach in 60-plus undergraduate majors, along with master’s programs in accounting, business administration, management, education, higher education, interactive media and physician assistant studies; and doctoral programs in physical therapy and law. Elon’s four-year graduation rate of 79 percent ranks in the top 8 percent of U.S. private universities. The student-to-faculty ratio is 12-1 and the average class size is 20. The Elon Teaching Fellows Program prepares leaders and scholars who contribute significantly to the quality of birth-12 education and who are influential decision makers on the local, state, national and international levels. This four-year experience inspires students to think critically and embrace diversity, lead within and beyond the classroom, and participate meaningfully in a global society. Program features include:

Twenty-five Teaching Fellows receive scholarships valued at $5,500 per year up to four years. The combined value of the scholarship and programming opportunities totals $29,500. Secondary and K-12 Programs Earn N.C. licensure for grades 9-12 in biology, chemistry, English, history, mathematics, physics and social studies. Elon also offers programs leading to K-12 licensure in music education and Spanish.

Enjoy the benefits of hands-on learning as you choose from a concentration in physical education and health or adventure based learning. The curriculum includes a strong foundation in science to empower graduates to be leaders in these fields.
All of Elon’s education majors lead to teacher licensure with additional testing requirements. In addition, a non-licensure program is offered in adventure, health and physical education.

GRADUATE DEGREES AND LICENSURE PROGRAMS MASTER OF EDUCATION Earn a master’s that will impact your teaching philosophy and practice as an educator. This blended program allows educators to focus on learning outcomes and teaching practices to impact their students.
M.A. IN HIGHER EDUCATION The program is designed to prepare highly effective professionals for roles as administrators, educators and mentors in a variety of college and university settings. Students will experience a curriculum linked by a series of educationally enriching activities and relationships. Students are enrolled full time in a two-year, 36-hour program that incorporates study abroad, internships, research experiences and a paid apprenticeship.
AIG LICENSURE For teachers seeking Academically/Intellectually Gifted (AIG) add-on licensure to their North Carolina teaching license, Elon offers a 12-credit-hour certificate program with the option to transition into the M.Ed. program.

Academic Programs: Elon’s rigorous curriculum is grounded in the arts and sciences and complemented by nationally accredited professional and graduate programs. More than 440 full-time faculty members teach in 60-plus undergraduate majors, along with master’s programs in accounting, business administration, management, education, higher education, interactive media and physician assistant studies; and doctoral programs in physical therapy and law. Elon’s four-year graduation rate of 79 percent ranks in the top 8 percent of U.S. private universities. The student-to-faculty ratio is 12-1 and the average class size is 20.
