First Quarter 2012

Art Exhibition Opening & Reception Sunday, February 12, 3:00 - 5:00 pm

Whew!! The last 6 months remind me of my long climb up to the top of Bond Mesa on October 1st for a spectacular aerial view of El Morro Village, the Old School Gallery, the Ancient Way Fall Harvest Festival tents, & the flurry of excited activity below. While I’m tired, winded & need to take a breather, the climb has been well worth it. I sit here looking back in awe & appreciation for all of the planning, creativity, work, fun, community spirit, contributions, special events, gatherings, festivals, rehearsals, meetings, theater, concerts, workshops, home grown sustenance & artwork that our unique community has magically “spun & woven” into this amazingly beautiful, living Tapestry that we call El Morro Valley. As I sit here looking around me, I see and feel a similar mood in the community. There is a slowing down, a pause, a peacefulness as the cold Winter settles in and we re-kindle our warm, blazing fires at home where we can rest in semi-hibernation and enjoy a quieter, slower pace for the next 3 months... until the March “breezes” bring a quickening, a warming, renewal, new life, new beginnings, new hopes & dreams that we will nurture into fruition in the coming year.

From the Executive Director Dear friends, Thanks for all of your participation in the last year and here's to the coming year! Our Community and Gallery continue to amaze me. I hope everyone has a warm, safe, and creative Winter. In love and solidarity…. Genevieve

From the President Happy New Year! Well, that was an action packed quarter. We have such a creative collective of artists. So creative that we are now looking at the entire year of programming. It is important to us to find an easier way of addressing all of our creative desires without burning out the audience. If you have a project that you would like scheduled in the next year, let's get them on the calendar so that we know what is upcoming. I am thrilled at everyone's response during the last year. Several things that we need to address are: storage, possibly a new floor and updated office equipment. Please stay tuned as we assemble a list of needs and their priorities. Peace to all! Happy Creating… Maqui
