Την Χίο την λάτρεψα από την πρώτη στιγμή που την αντίκρισα. Είχα ακούσει πολλά για το νησί – ιδιαίτερα από τους Χιώτες – «στερεοφωνικά» καθώς «οι Χιώτες πηγαίνουν δύο δύο» Μέσα όμως στην ειδυλλιακή και τουριστική μορφή της υπάρχουν και οι άλλες πλευρές λιγότερο φωτεινές και λαμπερές – με φυσικό αυτουργό τον ανθρώπινο παράγοντα και μόνο. Κατά την διάρκεια της παραμονής μου στη Χίο το περασμένο καλοκαίρι βίωσα μέσα από μαρτυρίες και φήμες ντόπιων την περίπτωση των Τραχιλίων. (Δημοσιεύθηκε στο προηγούμενο Editorial) Ως δημοσιογράφος, από την άλλη πλευρά του πλανήτη και πολυταξιδεμένη στα πέρατα της γής δυσκολεύτηκα να δεχθώ την άποψη κάποιων κατοίκων περί «οικογενειών» που σύμφωνα με την πληροφόρηση αυτή έχουν συνεργαστεί με αλλόθρησκους και μπορούν μέχρι σήμερα να διακυβεύονται πάτρια εδάφη και συμφέροντα, άποψη βεβαίως που σε καμία περίπτωση δεν υιοθετώ άκριτα. Ακολουθώντας ανορθόδοξο δρόμο για την αναζήτηση της αλήθειας, παρέθεσα τα (ίσως και έωλα) επιχειρήματά και ισχυρισμούς τους στο περιοδικό Ellopia Press Magazine που κυκλοφορεί στην Αμερική – όπου ζουν και λειτουργούν χιλιάδες Ομογενείς και δη Χιακής καταγωγής - φροντίζοντας να αναδημοσιευτεί σε τοπική εφημερίδα της Χίου. Σκοπός; Να προκαλέσει την αλήθεια και να σταματήσουν οι γκρίνιες. Έτσι, για να απολαμβάνουμε τη Χίο χωρίς υποβόσκουσες έριδες. (Μια και το νησί αυτό θα γίνει εν τω καιρώ μόνιμη κατοικία μου). Για να κάνουμε και πιο αιχμηρό το κείμενο, αναλάβαμε δίκην Ντελακρουά να ζωγραφίσουμε με δραματικές, αποχρώσεις την όλη «αποκάλυψη». Και να! Λαμβάνουμε μια επιστολή όπου ακούγεται σαρωτική η αντίθετη άποψη καταρρίπτει τις ενστάσεις και τους φόβους - που μας μετέφεραν οι κάτοικοι του χωριού - ακόμα και μας προσβάλλει – ιπποτικώ τρόπω. Ένα είναι βέβαιο ότι η αλήθεια έρχεται κοντά στην αλήθεια. Μπορεί το τέχνασμα οικειοποιήσεις διαφόρων προφορικών απόψεων ως δική μας άποψη να έβλαψε κάποιους ανθρώπους – κάτι που είναι έξω από τις προθέσεις μας – για αυτό δημοσιεύουμε ολόκληρη την επιστολή, προς αποκατάσταση της αλήθειας και προς άρση οποιασδήποτε παρερμηνείας τυχόν προκλήθηκε, από το προηγούμενό μας δημοσίευμα. Εμείς την πρόκληση της αλήθειας την πετύχαμε. Τώρα κάποιοι άλλοι ίσως πρέπει να απαντήσουν Τη Χίο τη λάτρεψα και τη λατρεύω (Η επιστολή του κ. Παντελή Καβύρη παρατίθεται αυτούσια στην σελίδα 30)

Τι θα αγόραζε ο Ιησούς; Του ΘΑΝΑΣΗ ΤΣΙΤΣΑ «ΜΑΥΡΗ ΠΑΡΑΣΚΕΥΗ» είναι η ονομασία που έχουν δώσει οι έμποροι στην επόμενη ημέρα των Ευχαριστιών, σε μια προσπάθεια να κάνουν τα Χριστούγεννα συνώνυμα με τις αγορές. Την «Μαύρη Παρασκευή» (23 Νοεμβρίου) οι Αμερικανοί κατέκλυσαν για ακόμη μια φορά τα πολυκαταστήματα οπλισμένοι με πλαστικό χρήμα. Η «Μαύρη Παρασκευή» ακολουθείται από την «Cyber Δευτέρα», μια ονομασία που επινοήθηκε από τη βιομηχανία λιανικών πωλήσεων ώστε να προκαλέσει υστερία στις online αγορές. Ακούγοντας τις εμπορικές ειδήσεις, κάποιος θα μπορούσε να καταλήξει στο συμπέρασμα ότι το μέλλον -όχι μόνο της οικονομίας των ΗΠΑ αλλά και της ίδιας της ανθρωπότητας- εξαρτάται πλέον από τις μαζικές αγορές. Ο ΑΙΔΕΣΙΜΟΤΑΤΟΣ ΜΠΙΛΙ είναι ένας κήρυκας των δρόμων. Τον υποδύεται ο Μπιλ Τάλεν, ένας ακτιβιστής κατά του καταναλωτισμού. Αποτελεί το κεντρικό θέμα ενός μεγάλου μήκους ντοκιμαντέρ που παίζεται αυτές τις μέρες στις κινηματογραφικές αίθουσες με τίτλο: «Τι θα αγόραζε ο Ιησούς;». Παραγωγός της ταινίας είναι ο Μόργκαν Σπέρλοκ, ο οποίος έγινε διάσημος με το ντοκιμαντέρ του «Super Size Me», όπου πρόβαλλε τη σωματική και συναισθηματική του κατάπτωση επειδή έτρωγε γεύματα μόνο από τα McDonald’s επί ένα μήνα. Στην ταινία, ο Τάλεν και η καταπληκτική χορωδία Stop Shopping Gospe διασχίζει τη χώρα με δύο λεωφορεία φιλικά προς το περιβάλλον, κρατώντας ψεύτικες αναβιώσεις του Ευαγγελίου, απαρνούμενος τη Shopocalypse (Αγορο-Αποκάλυψη), την απύθμενη, ομαδική καθοδηγούμενη από την πίστωση καταναλωτική κουλτούρα, ενώ δοξολογεί τις οικονομίες των μικρών πόλεων και το να ζει κανείς με λιγότερα. Η «ΜΑΥΡΗ ΠΑΡΑΣΚΕΥΗ» αποκαλείται, επίσης, «Ημέρα Χωρίς Αγορές», ένα παγκόσμιο μποϊκοτάζ σε αγορές και καταναλωτισμό. Η «Ημέρα Χωρίς Αγορές» -την οποία ξεκίνησε ο Κέιλ Λας και οι συνάδελφοί του από το περιοδικό «Adbusters», με έδρα το Βανκούβερ- επιδιώκει να τοποθετήσει την αγοραστική μανία, που πυροδοτείται από διαφημίσεις και στηρίζεται από ΜΜΕ σε ένα παγκόσμιο πλαίσιο. Λέει: «Το να οδηγεί κανείς υβριδικό αυτοκίνητο και να περιορίζει τις βιομηχανικές εκπομπές καυσαερίων, είναι πολύ καλό. Ομως, αυτά είναι επιφανειακές λύσεις που απλώς καλύπτουν το πρόβλημα εάν δεν στοχεύσουμε στο βασικό σημείο: Πρέπει να καταναλώνουμε λιγότερο». ΤΟ ΚΙΝΗΜΑ ΓΙΑ ΤΟ ΔΙΚΑΙΟ ΕΜΠΟΡΙΟ μεγαλώνει επικεντρώνοντας την προσοχή του στα ασφαλή, οργανικά προϊόντα που κατασκευάζονται τοπικά από ανθρώπους που πληρώθηκαν, όχι μόνο με το νόμιμο βασικό μισθό, αλλά με ένα μισθό που θα τους επιτρέπει να ζήσουν. Σχηματίζονται δίκτυα δυνατών επιχειρήσεων και μη κερδοσκοπικών οργανισμών τα οποία ενώνουν παραγωγούς με καταναλωτές, προσπερνούν τους μεσάζοντες και επιτρέπουν στους ανθρώπους που κατασκευάζουν τα εμπορεύματα να έχουν το μεγαλύτερο μερίδιο από την τιμή πώλησης. Γίνεται ολοένα και πιο εύκολο -και της μόδας- να αγοράζεις πλέον από είδη ένδυσης μέχρι σοκολάτες, λουλούδια και καύσιμα με βάση την ηθική. Γι’ αυτό και η φετινή προτροπή: «Πριν μπείτε τα Χριστούγεννα σ’ ένα μεγάλο πολυκατάστημα, απλά αναρωτηθείτε: Τι θα αγόραζε ο Ιησούς;».

as she held high her trophies, her two Bronze Tellys she received for special programming her company videotaped, one a hospital story involving the treatment of her fading father and the other, an investigative work deep in the now hostile territory north of Cyprus’ Green Line. The “she” I am talking about is the sensational Athina Krikeli. She and her associates held the inaugural of her new, ultra modern office on the first floor of the Astoria Kaufman Studios, complete with a Holy Water blessing (Agiasmo) performed by local clergy, followed by an exciting party complete with musical treats by scores of artists attending the event. The treats extended beyond the musical notes, in the form of delectable hors d’oeuvres and mouthwatering dishes, not to mention the flowing of alcohol, which always improves the odds of any party. Her friends from throughout the Tri-State areapoliticians the likes of Peter Valone Jr too-gathered at the spacious dining room of the Kaufman Studio facil-

Language has recorded roughly 4,100 modern Greek book titles, including anthologies and magazine reports, translated into more than 20 European languages. An e-catalogue will soon be ready with details on the specific translations. Some of the book translations recorded are dating back to the 19th century and belong to private collections and libraries. Already, 2,400 books have been translated into Italian, Spanish, Por-
tuguese, French, Dutch, German, Bulgarian, Turkish Romanian, Serb, Croat, and Slovenian and roughly 1,400 book publications have been translated into English, Russian, Albanian, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian and Finnish. The most translated Greek writers and poets are Yannis Ritsos, Constantine Cavafy, Nikos Kazantzakis, George Seferis, and Odysseas Elytis…..

Chasing the Dream author Roula Kotseta who came to the US long ago for a month’s sojourn and stayed for ten years-working as a reporter for Fannie Petallides’ Proini daily in New York- said during an interview in Athens where she now works for the financial newspaper Kerdos, that she was in New York three times since she had left, and three times she broke into tears. That’s how much she loves Manhattan and feels comfortable here. By the way, her book-signing trip to New York which was scheduled for November, has now been moved to next March….

Marathon concluded with Kenya’s Benjamin Kiprotich Korir coming first in the men’s category, with a time of 2:14:40 and Svetlana Ponomarenko of Russia winning the women’s race with a time of 2:33:19. The best Greek runner, Giorgos Karavidas, came in 11th in the overall line-up with a time of 2:23:51. The “Classic” marathon held in Athens is based on the legendary run carried out by the ancient runner Pheidippides when he ran all the way from the battlefield of Marathon to the ancient city of Athens to bring news of the Greek victory over the Persians and traces the actual route he is believed to have taken. Pheidippides’ effort inspired the modern Marathon event, which covers roughly the same distance as that between Marathon and central Athens and was created for the first-ever modern Olympic Games of 1896. It looked like it was holy matrimony for Jennifer Aniston and Woody Harrelson! The two tied the knot on the banks of the Willamette River in Portland this week with friends, family – oh and of course, producers, co-stars and an entire camera crew also on hand. The two were in full
faux marriage mode as they filmed a wedding scene for their new romantic comedy “Management.” In the film, which also stars Steve Zahn, Aniston plays a traveling saleswoman who sells cheap art to small companies and motels. Stamos was flying back from Chicago after filming some scenes for “ER,” and was asleep in first class when a woman allegedly shook him awake. The actor told the woman he was tired and wanted to go back to sleep and she reportedly shook him again. When Stamos got up to use the restroom, the woman said she would sit in his seat until he came back. When Stamos tried to return to his seat, the woman reportedly hit him in the hand over and over, and when airline personnel asked the woman to go back to her seat, she allegedly started making a scene, screaming and threatening him, even though he had already switched seats. Stamos did not press charges and the hitch here is that the woman’s kids were also in Chicago filming the ER scenes. World renown Greek Pianist Yanni was 53 on November 14….As we have written before, Hollywood Greek American actress and writer Nia Vardalos, star of “My Big Fat Greek Wedding,” stood under a big reflector in early October, filming a new romantic comedy among the ruins on the Acropolis. A long and glorious history Astoria Studios has been making entertainment history for 85 years. It’s doors were opened by the legendary Adolph Zuckor in 1920. Eventually, the studio became a home for Paramount Pictures, and during the next 20 years, over 120 silent and sound films were produced at the studio. At the start of WWII, the studio was taken over by the U.S. Signal Corps and became known as the Army Pictorial Center.

New York was the center of the fledgling film industry, and Astoria was the Mecca of the Silent Era. The main stage, basement stages and exterior backlot were heavily utilized, with up to six feature films in production at any given time. It was here at the Studio that the moving picture industry developed many of the techniques that were to become the conventions of production. From Valentino, Swanson, the Gish sisters and W.C. Fields, Astoria was home to the great talents of an exciting new industry. Still, the motto for actors on Broadway was: “don’t quit your night job.”

Kaufman in partnership with Alan King, Johnny Carson and others, obtained the lease from the City.

The history of Kaufman Astoria Studios goes back 88 years ago. Its debut was on September 20, 1920 (Famous Players/Lasky) know later as Paramount Studios. Later, legends of the era like Rudolph Valentino, Claudette Colbert, W.C. Fields, The Marx Brothers, Sylvia Sydney, D.W. Griffith, Gloria Swanson chose to have their productions there. Washington acquired the lease on Astoria Studio when the U.S. Army stopped making World War II newsreels and educational films there in 1970. Like boxer Jake LaMotta in 1980’s Academy Awarding
winning film “Raging Bull”, the Astoria building was past its prime, but unwilling to stay down for the count. The facility currently boasts six operating sound stages ranging in size from 3,200 square feet to over 26,000 square feet (the largest stage in the country east of Los Angeles. Today, the 14-acre studio is home to “Sesame Street,” WFAN, the nation’s only all sports radio station, and the recently completed “Angels in America”, starring Al Pacino.

Καλά Χριτούγεννα Ευχές για Δημιουργικό νέο έτος YOUTUBE has opened its revenue-sharing program to the general public and is accepting applications on YouTube. com. The site will only grant “partner” status to frequent contributors that have built up a YouTube audience while not violating the site’s terms of use. YouTube says partners with over a million views are earning thousands of dollars per month using the program. VUDU will offer the first high-def download available on the same day as a DVD release. The movie service will sell “The Bourne Ultimatum” from Universal Pictures as HD download-to-own and soon add HD content from Paramount Pictures and Lionsgate. Vudu will also begin selling TV shows from Fox including 24, Arrested Development, Family Guy and more. NYTIMES.COM has seen a 64% surge in traffic since August, mostly due to dropping the Times Select “walled garden.” Between August and October, the site picked up 7.5 million additional readers, bringing its total to 19.4 million. During that time page views jumped 52% to 181 million. 4.9 million readers were added in October alone, the first full month without paid access. TV GUIDE NETWORK plans to insert localized content and new features by distributing thousands of video-processing devices to cable operators. Solekai Systems is designing the boxes, which will be capable of transcoding video and overlaying graphics while being managed centrally via software. The system will allow the TV Guide Network to offer operator-specific content for even very small cable systems. MTV NETWORKS has formed Digital Fusion, a group that will help clients tap into social-networking, virtual worlds and other emerging media. DF will act as a one-stop shop for advertising across MTVN’s many online properties. NATAS has been forced to cancel Broadband Emmy’s for comedy, drama and other categories. Arbitrators sided with ATAS, who felt that the NATAS Broadband Emmy’s were a violation of a decades-old agreement between the two parties. Both groups may continue to offer Broadband Emmy’s but only in the categories over which they hold offline jurisdiction.

Αγαπητή κυρία Athina Krikeli, αποτελεί μεγάλη τιμή, για την ιδιαίτερη πατρίδα μου τη Χίο, η προσπάθεια την οποία έχετε ξεκινήσει, προκειμένου να την προφυλάξετε από την επενδυτική μανία των «ξένων» επενδυτών. Αναφέρομαι σε άρθρο που δημοσιεύετε στο ηλεκτρονικό περιοδικό σας “ellopia press” και που αποστείλατε προς δημοσίευση και στην τοπική εφημερίδα «Πολίτης» (συμφερόντων μεταξυ άλλων και γνωστής ελληνοαμερικανικής οικογένειας επενδυτών). Είναι πραγματικά συγκινητικό να σκεπτόμεθα, εμείς εδώ οι «ιθαγενείς», ότι εκεί στη μακρινή Αστόρια, μία δημοσιογράφος (η οποία από ότι η ίδια ομολογεί δεν έχει καμιά σχέση με την Χίο, πέραν αυτής του επισκέπτη) μετά από ενδελεχή έρευνα ξυπνά κάποιο πρωί και αναφωνεί : «Τα Τραχίλια στο σφυρί». Και αναλαμβάνει με την πένα της να τα περισώσει. Πόση ασφάλεια αισθανόμαστε! Δεν μας έχουν παρατήσει! Κάποιος μας σκέπτεται. Ομολογώ ότι το όνομα σας δεν το εγνώριζα. Κάνοντας έτσι μία μικρή αναζήτηση στο διαδίκτυο, διάβασα το βιογραφικό σας (κυρίως στη Wikipedia). Η πολύ καλή καριέρα και οι σημαντικές βραβεύσεις σας, αποτελούν για μας έναν επιπλέον λόγο να αισθανόμαστε ασφαλείς κάτω από την σκέπη σας. Διότι μία δημοσιογράφος με τέτοια πολυσχιδή δραστηριότητα δεν μπορεί να έχει καμία σχέση με τη μάστιγα που μαστίζει το χώρο της δημοσιογραφίας τόσο εδώ στην Ελλάδα όσο και σε ολόκληρο τον κόσμο. Μιλώ ασφαλώς για την πληγή που ονομάζεται «διαπλοκή» (διαπλοκή οικονομικών, δημοσιογραφικών και πολιτικών συμφερόντων, είναι ο ακριβής όρος). Είμαι σίγουρος ότι πρόκειται περί καθαρής και σπάνιας συμπτώσεως το γεγονός ότι οι απόψεις σας ταυτίζονται επακριβώς με τις απόψεις συγκεκριμένων επενδυτικών(;) συμφερόντων στην περιοχή. Είμαι επίσης βέβαιος ότι ούτε καν γνωρίζετε γνωστό ελληνοαμερικάνο επενδυτή (υψηλόβαθμο στέλεχος των οργανώσεων της ομογένειας με την οποία και εσείς έχετε στενή σχέση από ότι διακρίνω στη δραστηριότητα των επιχειρήσεων σας), ο οποίος έχει προσπαθήσει να αγοράσει την περιοχή από τους νόμιμους ιδιοκτήτες της (υπάρχει ένορκη κατάθεση γιαυτό) και ο οποίος, όπως είναι φυσικό, έχει κάθε λόγο να συντηρεί τη δικαστική διαμάχη, προκειμένου να κρατά την τιμή της περιοχής σε χαμηλά επίπεδα. Το γεγονός ότι οι επιχειρηματικές δραστηριότητες του περί ου ο λόγος, καταλαμβάνουν αρκετό από τον διαφημιστικό χώρο στα έντυπα σας; Το γεγονός ότι στέλνετε το άρθρο σας για αναδημοσίευση σε έντυπο της Χίου με το οποίο, ο εν λόγω (στενό συγγενικό του πρόσωπο, για την ακρίβεια) έχει ιδιοκτησιακή σχέση; Απλές συμπτώσεις. Γεγονότα που σε καμία περίπτωση δεν μπορούν να αμφισβητήσουν την αγνή και άδολη αγάπη σας για αυτό το μικρό κομμάτι γης της μητέρας πατρίδας , που κιν δυνεύει. Σαν κάτοικος αυτού του τόπου εκτιμώ αφάνταστα το όραμα σας εκείνου του πρωινού στην Αστόρια. Το όραμα της σωτηρίας του τόπου μου δηλαδή από τους Ευροδολαριοθήρες, τους Τούρκους (!!!) και ότι άλλο εσείς διαβλέπετε. Όμως μην σπαταλάτε τον πολύτιμο χρόνο σας. Μάλλον θα τα καταφέρουμε και μόνοι μας. Ανάλογες (και πολύ χειρότερες) «βοήθειες» είχαμε και κατά το παρελθόν και καταφέραμε να τις αντιμετωπίσουμε αποτελεσματικά (αν χρειαστεί μπορώ να σας αναφέρω και συγκεκριμένα παραδείγματα). Όσον αφορά τώρα το άρθρο σας, η κοπιώδης προσπάθεια που καταβάλατε προκειμένου να διασταυρώσετε τα στοιχεία σας, έφερε αποτελέσματα. Πράγματι έχετε γράψει πολύ σωστά λέξεις όπως «Χίος» ή «Μεστά». Όλα τα υπόλοιπα αποτελούν ένα συνονθύλευμα ανακριβειών, εθνικιστικού παροξυσμού και κυρίως αήθους επιθέσεως εναντίον της οικογένειας των νομίμων ιδιοκτητών, την οποία δεν γνωρίζεται και της οποίας την αποδεδειγμένη προσφορά στον τόπο, στα γράμματα, τις τέχνες κ.τ.λ, δεν μπορεί να επισκιάσει κανένα λιβελογράφημα. Όσον αφορά τις ανακρίβειες από τις οποίες βρίθει το κείμενο έχω να σας επισημάνω τα εξής: • Είναι ανακριβές ότι δεν υπάρχει καταγεγραμμένη η ακριβής τοποθεσία της έκτασης. Αν εγνωρίζατε την ιστορία του νησιού θα ξέρατε ότι η Χίος, λόγω των ειδικών προνομίων που είχε κατά την Τουρκοκρατία, είχε καταγεγραμμένα στοιχεία ιδιοκτησιών από πολύ παλιά (παρά το ότι οι Τούρκοι εξαφάνισαν, λίγο πριν την απελευθέρωση, σημαντικό μέρος
των αρχείων). Έτσι αν κάνατε μια απλή ερώτηση θα μαθαίνατε ότι στην βιβλιοθήκη «Κοραή», υπάρχει ακριβές τοπογραφικό της περιοχής από εκείνη την εποχή, το οποίο έχει κατατεθεί στη δικογραφία. Ε ί ν α ι ανακριβές ότι κατά την εκδίκαση, σε πρώτο βαθμό της υπόθεσης, η κοινότητα δεν είχε νομική εκπροσώπηση. Η κοινότητα εκπροσωπήθηκε από δύο εκ των ικανοτέρων νομικών του νησιού. Τώρα αν εσείς θεωρείτε ότι οι «ιθαγενείς» δικηγόροι δεν κάνουν καλά τη δουλειά τους, είναι δικό σας θέμα. Πάντως την ίδια ακριβώς άποψη είχε και ο ελληνοαμερικανός επενδυτής στον οποίο αναφερθήκαμε πιο πάνω. Γιαυτό το λόγο έφερε σε επαφή την κοινότητα με δικηγορικό γραφείο των Αθηνών. Η ταύτιση των απόψεων σας , προφανώς και οφείλεται σε κάποια εκ των σπανίων συμπτώσεων στις οποίες έχουμε αναφερθεί. • Είναι ανακριβές ότι οι δύο μηχανικοί που είχαν οριστεί ως πραγματογνώμονες από το δικαστήριο, εγκατέλειψαν την υπόθεση γιατί δεν εύρισκαν ικανοποιητικά στοιχεία. Αν συνέβαινε αυτό, αυτή θα ήταν και η γνωμάτευση τους. «Δεν βρίσκουμε στοιχεία». Εκτός βέβαια αν θέτετε υπό αμφισβήτηση την επαγγελματική εντιμότητα και των «ιθαγενών» μηχανικών. Η αλήθεια είναι ότι αποτελεί συνήθη πρακτική των τοπογράφων μηχανικών, να αφήνουν τις προθεσμίες να περνούν (είναι γνωστό στους παροικούντες την Ιερουσαλήμ , με το δεδομένο μάλιστα ότι οι αμοιβές που τους καταβάλει το δημόσιο είναι δυσανάλογα χαμηλές σε σχέση με τον όγκο της εργασίας που τους ανατίθεται). Επειδή όμως εκφράζεται και κάποια ερωτήματα, (τα οποία αρκούσε μια απλή διασταύρωση στοιχείων για να τα απαντήσετε), θα προσπαθήσω να σας απαντήσω σε ένα προς ένα: 1)« Με ποια δικαιοδοσία ο πρόεδρος οποιουδήποτε δημοκρατικού τόπου αποφασίζει και διατάσσει την πώληση κοινοτικού χώρου – είχε άραγε προηγουμένως συγκαλέσει κοινοτικό ή δημοτικό συμβούλιο για την ενημέρωση και την λήψη απόφασης που αφορά στην αγοροπωλησία κοινοτικής έκτασης?» Το ερώτημα σας αυτό πρέπει να αφορά κάποια άλλη δημοσιογραφική έρευνα την οποία διεξάγετε και να έχει παρεισφρήσει εδώ κατά λάθος. Στη περίπτωση μας δεν εμπλέκεται ούτε πρόεδρος, ούτε συμβούλιο, ούτε κοινότητα. Έχουμε αρχικά μια αγοραπωλησία μεταξύ της εκκλησίας και ενός ιδιώτη και στη συνέχεια ανάλογη πράξη μεταξύ ιδιωτών. Προσέξτε το αυτό γιατί το ερώτημα μπορεί να λείπει από καμία άλλη σοβαρή δημοσιογραφική σας έρευνα. 2) «Υπάρχουν άραγε πρακτικά του Δήμου ή της κοινότητας ή τέλως πάντων άλλα έγγραφα που να αποδεικνύουν ότι η παραχώρηση/ πώληση αυτή δεν έγινε μεταξύ κουμπάρων κατά την διάρκεια κοινωνικής σύναξης – και την συντροφιά αλκοόλ – αλλά ακολουθώντας τις νόμιμες διαδικασίες;» Αυτό το στοιχείο, ότι δηλαδή εδώ στο Chios, κατά τις οικογενειακές συνάξεις με σούμα και μεζέ, οι «ιθαγενείς» χαρίζουν ο ένας στον άλλον εκτάσεις 70 στρεμμάτων, είναι μάλλον ανακριβές. Τώρα εσείς για να το αναφέρετε όλο και κάποια λαογραφική έρευνα θα έχετε διεξάγει. Πάντως εγώ όσους και αν ρώτησα, δεν θυμούνται τέτοιο έθιμο. Ίσως παλαιά… Όπως ήδη έχω αναφέρει σε καμία αγοραπωλησία δεν εμπλέκεται κάποιος Δήμος ή κοινότητα. Είναι όμως αρκετά ενδιαφέρουσα και χρήσιμη θα έλεγα, η πρόταση σας προς τους ΟΤΑ: Να φτιαχτεί ένα αρχείο όπου επιτέλους να μπορεί να αποδείξει κάποιος τι δώρο δεν του έχει κάνει ο κουμπάρος του κατά τη διάρκεια των κοινωνικών συνάξεων. 3) «Γιατί τηρήθηκε σιγή ιχθύος από τον Δήμο Μαστιχωχωρίων για ένα τέτοιο μείζων θέμα; Γνωρίζοντας μάλιστα πως μια τέτοια πώληση – του νησιού στην περιοχή Τραχιλίων –θα ήταν απλά μια στυγνή εμπορική συναλλαγή. Ένα ξεπούλημα σε ξένους – μη έλληνες- επενδυτές που στα μάτια τους ο τόπος ο ελληνικός είναι απλά έχτρα σύμβολα του δολαρίου ή του Ευρώ αν θέλετε.» Υποθέτω ότι ο Δήμος Μαστιχοχωρίων κράτησε (κατά την άποψη σας) σιγή ιχθύος γιατί δεν υπήρχε στις αρχές του 20ου αιώνα που έγινε η συναλλαγή. Από ότι είμαι σε θέση να γνωρίζω είναι «καποδιστριακός» Δήμος που δημιουργήθηκε πριν από πέντε περίπου χρόνια. Δεν ξέρω αν εσείς έχετε κάποια διαφορετική πληροφόρηση περί της ιδρύσεως του δήμου, η οποία να ανατρέπει τα ιστορικά δεδομένα (ειρήσθω εν παρόδω,

ούτε ευρώ υπήρχε αν δεν με απατούν οι γνώσεις μου). Πάντως η δικαστική διαμάχη είναι παλιότερη από την δημιουργία του δήμου. Έτσι μάλλον κανείς δεν τηρεί σιγή ιχθύος. Εκείνο που δεν αντιλαμβάνομαι στο ερώτημα σας, είναι αυτά τα περί «ξένων επενδυτών που στα μάτια τους ο τόπος ο ελληνικός κ.τ.λ, κ.τ.λ». Ως «ξένους επενδυτές» εννοείτε την οικογένεια που νομίμως κατέχει το επίμαχο κομμάτι; Αν ναι, τότε έχουμε έναν πρωτοποριακό πράγματι ορισμό του «ξένου», αφού η εν λόγω οικογένεια ζει, δραστηριοποιείται και προσφέρει στο νησί εδώ και τουλάχιστον πέντε γενιές και δεν έχει καμία σχέση με επενδύσεις όπως τουλάχιστον τις εννοείτε εσείς. 4)«Μήπως κρύβονται άλλα συμφέροντα πίσω από μια τέτοια απόφαση. Μήπως κάποιοι «χρυσώθηκαν» με τα τριάντα αργύρια για να αγνοήσουν ή αποσιωπήσουν την εκπόρνευση της πατρίδας τους;» Ότι κάπου, σε αυτή την υπόθεση (η οποία περιλαμβάνει και τα σχετικά δημοσιεύματα), κρύβονται «ύποπτα» συμφέροντα, αυτό είναι βέβαιο. Μένει να εντοπίσουμε πια είναι αυτά και πίσω από ποιους κρύβονται. 5)«Η Χίος βυθίστηκε στο αίμα κατά την διάρκεια της μεγάλης σφαγής από τους τούρκους. Ξεκληρίστηκαν οικογένειες για να προστατευθεί και η τελευταία πέτρατης. Να μην βγει «στο κλαδί» η αναφαίρετη δικαιωματική ελευθερία του λέγειν και πράττει. Τι άλλαξε από τότε; Από πότε ο λαός της αδιαφορεί για το μέλλον της γης του?» Ευτυχώς εκεί εις την μακρινή Αστόρια, η δημοσιογράφος αγρυπνά. Έτοιμη ως άλλος Ρήγας, να μας συνεγείρει με το πάθος της, να μας βγάλει από τον λήθαργο στο οποίο έχουμε περιπέσει (φτού μας) αφήνοντας τη γη μας βορά στους άπιστους, να μας παραδώσει μαθήματα φιλοπατρίας. Καλά κάνετε και μας μαλώνετε τους αχρείους. 6)«Ο Τουρκικός ζυγός εκδιώχθηκε με τον πιο ηρωικό τρόπο. Γιατί κάνουν πίσω στον ζυγό κάποιων «ισχυρών» που μόνο τους μέλημα είναι αδίστακτα να πλουτίσουν – ξεπουλώντας υλικά και ηθικά την πατρίδα σας? Είναι γνωστό πως κάποιες οικογένειες έκαναν περιουσίες λειτουργώντας ως χαφιέδες των τούρκων. Γιατί μέχρι σήμερα επιτρέπεται να λειτουργούν ως τέτοιοι ? Γιατί με την αδιαφορία φροντίζουμε για την ισχυροποίησή τους?» Κανονικά τέτοιου είδους εθνικιστικό παραλήρημα δεν χρήζει καμίας απάντησης. Αυτοαπαντάται (αν μου επιτρέπετε τον όρο). Αν μπαίνω στον κόπο, είναι γιατί όλοι εμείς που ζούμε εδώ δεν αγαπάμε τον τόπο μας δίκην εξωτικού προορισμού. Ζούμε μαζί του, τον πονάμε και μας πονάει, τον τρέφουμε και μας τρέφει. Κυρίως γνωρίζουμε καλά την ιστορία του. Κάτι που έπρεπε να κάνετε και σεις αφού «αποφασίσατε» τόσο «αγνά» και «άδολα» να τον «λατρέψετε». Αν μπαίνατε λοιπόν στον κόπο να διαβάσετε λίγη από την ιστορία του, θα μαθαίνατε ότι η οικογένεια των ιδιοκτητών της περιοχής (την οποία εσείς με τόσο χυδαίο τρόπο υβρίζετε) είχε επικηρυχθεί από τους κατακτητές λόγω της συμμετοχής της στον αγώνα. Για αυτή της τη συμμετοχή έχει βραβευθεί από την πολιτεία. Το μεγαλύτερο βραβείο της όμως είναι ότι εξασφάλισε σε σας το δικαίωμα να εκφράζεστε ελεύθερα ακόμη και αν χρησιμοποιείτε αυτή σας την ελευθερία για να την υβρίζετε. Αυτό βέβαια δεν σημαίνει ότι απεμπολεί τα πολιτικά της δικαιώματα. Από ότι είμαι σε θέση να γνωρίζω, η οικογένεια ήδη προσανατολίζεται να στραφεί νομικά εναντίον σας. Μετά τιμής Παντελής Καβύρης Ένας εκ των 55.000 κατοίκων αυτού του νησιού, των οποίων και μόνη η φυσική παρουσία, έχει πολύ περισσότερα να προσφέρει από οποιονδήποτε αυτόκλητο προστάτη του. Υ.Γ : Λόγοι ευγενείας αλλά και δεοντολογίας (την οποία εσείς δυστυχώς δεν σεβαστήκατε, αφού δεν φροντίσατε να ενημερωθείτε και για την αντίθετη άποψη επί του θέματος) μου επιβάλουν να περιμένω μερικές ημέρες πριν δώσω το κείμενο μου στα Μ.Μ.Ε. Έτσι λοιπόν έχετε το περιθώριο να αντικρούσετε τους ισχυρισμούς μου, με όποιο τρόπο θεωρείτε εσείς σωστό.
