Here at Ellen Smith’s we believe we offer the best value for money holidays in the whole of the UK, quite a statement!

Do Ellen Smith Offer Good Value? To support this statement we’ve done quite a bit of investigatory work. It’s hard to match like for like as hotels always charge differently throughout the season and many can only take one coach. We also have to take into account the ‘Door

to Door’ service that we include on each and every tour we operate. We’ve compared ourselves with a few North West tour operators and a number of national tour operators operating a Door to Door service.

Here are a few suitable comparisons... Operator

Our adventure is the Heritage Steam Experience either on “Snowdon Lily” which is built on the original chassis and bogey from the original carriage of 1896 or on the new “Snowdon Mountain Goat”. The unique original nature of the railway means that the visitor of today will experience exactly what our ancestors did back in 1896 and see for themselves how beautiful the mountain is as they journey through the clouds to Yr Wyddfa, Snowdon. Take in the spectacular flora and fauna of the area

The summit building on Snowdon, Hafod Eryri, first opened in June 2009. It receives on average half a million visitors a year and it’s not hard to see why. On a clear day you can see Ireland, England, Scotland and the Isle of Man. There is also the Visitor Centre with Café and Shop to explore. Please Note: Weather Conditions - The weather on Snowdon is very unpredictable and can change very quickly. Trains cannot proceed all the way to the Summit if weather conditions become severe i.e. high winds or snow and ice on the track.

Isle of Wight April 2015

A driver’s story, by Miria m From time to time, us coach drivers are asked to write a report for Tiger Talk but rather than just giving you a day to day bulletin of the tour, I thought I would give you my thoughts on the holiday I’ve just had the pleasure to lead. I always enjoy taking Ellen Smith passengers on tour, they are such a diverse bunch of people and I don’t think I have ever not enjoyed the experience. This tour was no exception. The Isle of Wight is the ideal holiday destination. It has the lot…. Beautiful beaches, lovely scenery, places of interest and of course it’s an island, so therefore it feels a little bit more of an adventure because we have to go across the Solent by ferry. It helped this particular week because the weather was fantastic. From the time of setting off from Birch services

the sun shone. This is the time to see the island at its best. It gives me great pleasure to see people in holiday mode and enjoying themselves and more times than not, really laughing out loud on the coach bonding with each other as the week goes on. This particular week we had one of the youngest passengers that I have had the pleasure to take on tour. He and his brother gave a whole new dimension to the tour and needless to say, were thoroughly spoiled by the ladies on the coach. But sometimes it was a case of ‘spot the child’!!!! I know I’m probably preaching to the converted but if you haven’t tried one of our holidays, go on, give it a go, you’ll thoroughly enjoy it! Hope to see you soon!

southern shore of Lake Garda and is a pretty town near the end of a long promontory. Sirmione’s most striking feature is its moated castle, the Rocca Scaligera. The narrow medieval streets bustle with colour & life and is a popular destination to visit.

Malcesine – is a pretty, atmospheric town on the eastern shore of the Lake. It is a charming town with a maze of historic alleys and in an excellent setting. Here, the castle guards the waters while mountain slopes rear up behind the clustered buildings. Whilst here you could take the cable-car up

2015 saw Ellen Smith rejoin CITO, the Consortium of Independent Tour Operators. In July’s 2014 Tiger Talk we stated; Following a meeting with their Chairman and General Manager we have decided to take them up on their offer. Firstly, to assure all our customers, particularly the more adventurous ones who like to travel abroad, we will not be undertaking any shared coach tours with any other operator. What we will be able to offer is a full colour brochure packed full of escorted worldwide holidays and cruises designed with our type of passenger in mind. Why not check out their website www. cito-holidays.com. There you will find details of the other coach operators involved and an online 2014 brochure. We intend to circulate the 2015 “CITO” brochure in late summer to all our tour customers.

CITO Holidays All the holidays are secured by CITO’s ATOL licence and will, of course, include our ’Door to Door’ service – to wherever to the plane or ship departs from. Watch this space for further details…

So what’s happened? We issued the 2015 CITO brochure alongside our 2015 Door to Door brochure in October last year. The bookings taken so far have been excellent particularly taking into account that it’s our first year back with CITO. Below is a list of all the tours still to operate in 2015. The list of passengers is the total amount from all the participating operators. These include Jones of North Wales, Welsh’s of Pontefract. Galloway’s of Norfolk and

many more top quality coach operators. Ellen Smith have customers on many of them. Why not take a look at the 2015 brochure, if you’ve lost yours call us and we’ll send you another one. Remember all the tours include; Our Door to Door service, monies protected by ATOL, Northern Departure Flights, 3* standard as a minimum, every breakfast, most dinners and some lunches, all excursions and the services of a dedicated Tour Manager who joins in the UK. Also passengers similar to yourselves – those who enjoy good quality holidays!
