Eenie, meenie, miney, moe HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR ELECTRA The only hard part about riding an Electra is choosing which one to get. They’re all easy to ride and they look amazing. So take your time to figure out which one is perfect for you. We have multiple collections with different models within each line. Here are a few things to consider that will help you while you peruse. STYLE As important as anything. It’s got to be love at first sight. ATTIRE There is no dress code, but if you’re biking in pants or a long skirt you might want a chainguard and fenders. COMFORT We pride ourselves on having some of the most comfy bikes around. Even the sporty ones feel good, but some are more laid back than others. THINGS TO CARRY Laptop, groceries, surfboard? We’ve got racks, baskets and bags to help you out. TIRES The 26” are all-purpose and cushy, while the 700c are faster-rolling road tires. Also check out the balloon tires for even more shock absorption. GEARS You have a lot of options from the number of gears to the type of system (internal vs derailleur). Learn more on the GEARING OPTIONS page of the TECHNICAL section on electrabike.com. There are no rules. But if you keep these things in mind it will help you focus in on the bike that is tailor -made for you. Whether you ride every day or go for long journeys on the weekend, the Ticino will handle it in comfort and style. Named for an Italianinfluenced area of Switzerland, Ticino’s design aesthetic, craftsmanship and frame integrity are inspired by the vintage Randonneur-type bikes once ridden throughout the region. Stylistically, Ticino picks up where bike builders of the ‘40s and ‘50s left off with its retro-inspired hubs, cranksets, chainrings, tourist handlebars, forks, pedals and rims. But this thing is far from a relic. When it comes to performance, the Ticino is decked out with the latest custom Electra components and will hold its own against other sporty rides with fast-rolling 700c wheels, a lightweight frame and a host of drivetrains from single to 20-speed. All in all, the Ticino is a fine-tuned, smooth-gliding machine that offers a comfort level no longer found in today’s twitchy frames. Take your time to study the unique details of each model.

The classic French touring pedal meets modern clipless pedal for our two-sided, easy-exit and easy-entry pedal. Mirror-polished, precision-forged 6061-T6 alloy crankset and sexy stainless steel chainguard is quite simply modern Euro-inspired art.

Ticino crest and bears represent the German and Swiss roots of Electra’s founders. Bar-end brake levers matched to proprietary ergo base-wrapped grips for the utmost in comfort and control. Electra Elite alloy rims are built with doublewall construction and stainless steel eyelets for superior strength.

Unique bar-end levers operate retro-style brakes–cantilevers on the men’s and center-pulls on the ladies’. Temptation continues with colors like Plum, Wintermint, Denim and Latte.

Timeless in appearance, the aluminum headbadge features an antiqued finish. Mirror finish chromoly stem is proportional in length and includes a distinctive threaded alloy top cap. Single 42 tooth chainring aluminum crankset with double alloy chainguards.

The innovative design was first developed in 2003 and applied to Electra Townie® and 20” Kids’ bicycles and is now featured on the Electra Cruiser and Amsterdam® collections. Flat Foot Technology® gives you proper leg extension for efficient pedaling and the ability to put your feet on the ground at any time for control and stability. The unique design also allows adjustability to fit various-sized riders within one frame size. We don’t want to bore you with a bunch of engineering mumbo jumbo but these diagrams help illustrate a core difference between a patented Electra bicycle and a conventional bike. In a nutshell, we moved the crank forward so it’s ahead of the seat tube. Sounds simple, but it was a revolutionary adjustment that is applied to Electra’s collections with varying tube angles and complementary frame geometry to create a variety of ride positions amongst the different bikes. A completely different ride experience, the Townie showcases Electra’s patented Flat Foot Technology ® in all its glory. By rotating the entire riding position backwards 23 degrees, we’ve created an ergonomic, upright seating position that lets you plant your feet flat on the ground whenever you want. This forward-pedaling ride reduces neck and arm fatigue and sets a new standard in comfort for the industry. It’s part of our philosophy that a bike should feel as if it was built around the rider and not vice versa.
