Thethemeoftheconferencewas ThePoint ofCareUltrasonographyinPrimaryMedicineandAmbulatoryHealthcare andfocussedonapproachesaimedatimproving earlydiagnosisthroughultrasonography techniques.Withadvancedandrelatively cheapultrasounddevicesandhigh-performancetechnologywi thartificialintelligenceorsmartsoftwareusingupdated diagnosticalgorithms,theclassicclinical examinationcanbeaugmentedandsignificantlyimprovedformostorgansofthe body.Addingultrasonographicelastographyaugmentsclinicalpalpationand electronicauscultationthroughtheDopplerTriplextechnique(US-auscultation)all combinetoincreasethediagnosticaccuracyinprimaryandoutpatienthealthcare.

ThemeetingprovidedaplatformfornetworkingwithmanyofEurope'sleading expertsandhearingaboutrecentdevelopmentsandcurrentbestpractice.Mostimportantlytheymanagedtobringtogether themedicalorganizationsEUVEKUS,WONCA,EURACT(THEEUROPEANACADEMYOF TEACHERSINGENERALPRACTICE/FAMILY MEDICINE)andtheprimaryhealthcarefederationEGPRN(EUROPEANGENERALPRACTICERESEARCHNETWORK),EURIPA(the EuropeanRuralandIsolatedPractitioners Association)andEQUIP(QualityandSafety inGeneralPractice/FamilyMedicine).They managedtohighlightthelimitedaccess forthetrainingandeducationoffamily doctorsinthefieldofclinicalultrasound, thatunfortunatelyexistsinmanyEuropean countriesreinforcingtheneedtoorganize thisannualevent.

Theorganiserswouldliketothankallparticipantsfortheirimportantsupportincarrying outthisideaofmultidisciplinarycollaboration,andforpromotingthedevelopment anduseofPointOfCareUltrasonographyin primaryandambulatoryhealthcareatthe Europeanlevel.
