Cancún Discussion

The Brief

Background

Representatives from Cambridge University are hosting a discussion event in response to the debates that took place in Cancún Mexico in November 2010.

Over a period of 2 weeks, Cancún, Mexico hosted a series of debates that brought together all 193 representatives of the UN. The aim was to find a legally binding deal that would limit greenhouse emissions.

Design informative promotional material for the event. A guide to the discussion event is required for all those who are attending; this should quickly inform those who are not familiar with the Cancún debates, while also including in depth information for the more informed attendants. The promotional material should provoke interest in the event in order to reach a wider audience, while reflecting the environmental implications covered at the Cancún debates. Concept/Proposition

Drawing together years of research and presenting solutions to global warming, both technologically, politically and socially, new laws and goals have been set down for both MEDCs and LEDCs. The debates resulted in replacement goals to pick up from those set out by the Kyoto protocol, which expires in 2012. The discussion event at Cambridge University will be addressing some of the solutions and opening the debate up to the public, both to inform and to potentially gain new perspectives.

Asking questions and inviting people to voice their opinions. Direct and to the point, focusing on the message with strong visual suggestions of environmental content. Considerations
