Section I: Student Learning Assessment Intended Student Learning Outcomes for Business Administration (BBA) with a Concentration in Business Management Required BBA Courses – Core Learning Outcome 1. Application of leadership theories and interpersonal skills in business situations 2. Exposure and knowledge of global business, economics and management. 3. Technical Competence in Analyzing and Solving Business Problems Concentration in Business Management – Business Management Learning Outcome 1. Students will be able to analyze a firm’s performance to determine its strengths and weaknesses, and be able to use financial analysis to improve performance at domestic and international levels. 2. Students will be able to apply human resource skills to complete case study assignments and participation in class discussions. 3. Students will be able to explain the management science/operations research approach to decision making. 4. Students will be able to apply managerial skills in organizational problems and situations, using both quantitative and qualitative considerations that are important in the decision making process.

Assessment Tools for Intended Student Learning Outcomes— Direct Measures of Student Learning:

Performance Targets/Criteria for Direct Measures:

1. Senior Capstone Course (ADM 450 -- Business Strategy/Policy)

On average, students who took the capstone course, which comprise of case studies, comprehensive reports, research paper, and a comprehensive exam will score an overall average of 70%.

2. Internship (ADM 460 -- Business Practicum)

All senior business students engaged in internship activity will successfully complete the required internship activities with an average passing score of 80%.

Proposed Courses of Action for Improvement in Areas for which Performance Targets Were Not Met: 1. Although, performance was met on the experiential learning (ADM 460 – Internship), we still believe there is room for improvement.

The research writing report portion of the internship activity continues to pose problems for students, due to improper sentence structures and lack of incorporating the APA referencing styles into their reports. Each faculty in the Department of Business Administration is encouraged to assist students in these areas, as well as directing the students to the proper division for assistance. 2. 3

Concentration in Business Management – Computer Information Systems Learning Outcome Student will demonstrate proficiency in designing efficient alogorithms and programming in object-oriented and event-driven programming language. Student will demonstrate proficiency in database concepts, and proficiency in developing effective data models for RDBMS, and manuplating data using SQL. Student will understand the concept of systems life cycle and the importance of involving users in systems design, as well as demonstrate the ability to use appropriate systems analysis and design tools and techniques including UML. Students will demonstrate proficiency of the layered network communications model and computing networks, internet and ecommerce applications.

Application of leadership theories and interpersonal skills in business situations 2. Exposure and knowledge of global business, economics and management. 3. Student will be able to compare and contrast major trade theories and trade policies, and their effect on international business. 2. Students will be able to measure a firm’s risk, explain what determines the risk, and explain how such risk affects the value of a firm in the global business arena. 4. On average, students who took the capstone course, which comprise of case studies, comprehensive reports, research paper on multinational firms, and a comprehensive exam will score an overall average of 70%.

2. Internship (INF 460 – International Trade & Logistics Practicum)

All senior business students engaged in internship activity successfully completed the required internship activities with an average passing score of 80% on the two research reports required to complete the internship.

On average, students who took the capstone course, which comprise of research and pratical implementation of project in a student’s occupation and avocation are expected to score an overall average of 70% on the individualized project.

On average, 95% of all senior business students in the Organizational Management program are expected to complete a life learning portfolio and assessment to record prior learning prepared by the adult student, which includes summaries of professional, educational, and personal experiences that is validated and evaluation by college faculty.
