Kentucky (KY) Underground Mine Instructor Practice Course About the Service: Kentucky (KY) Underground Mine Instructor Practice Course The Kentucky Underground Mine Instructor Practice Course is a twoday course designed to provide the instructor with the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully instruct the Basic Miner Training Program in a simulated underground mine environment. The course is offered on an individual basis or as part of a group. The Kentucky Underground Mine Instructor Practice Course includes: An introduction to the OSHA 30-Hour training standards and the Kentucky requirements for conducting this training. A walk through of a typical underground mine showing the various features encountered by miners while they work and explaining how they may impact safety and health. An explanation of the purpose behind each task in the Basic Miner Training Program, including an explanation of why each task is important. A review of all required equipment used in each task, including any special handling or storage requirements. A discussion on how to conduct each task safely and efficiently while maintaining good communication with class participants.
