Types of Membership available in the American Maine-Anjou Association 1. ADULT Adult Members shall be voting members who are owners or breeders of Maine-Anjou cattle. They shall pay the membership fee and shall be eligible to register and transfer cattle. The designation of member will apply to the estate of the deceased member for one (1) year after death. The membership fee shall be paid at the time of application. Members shall pay annual dues as required by the Board of Directors. 2. JUNIOR Junior Members shall be those persons under twenty-one (21) years of age who own Maine-Anjou cattle or who are interested in becoming a Maine-Anjou breeder. Junior members may register and transfer cattle. Upon reaching twenty-one (21) years of age, this membership shall be eligible to be converted into an ADULT membership by paying the ADULT membership fee. General Rules & Regulations 1. The Board of Directors shall have the power to accept or reject any application for membership. The Board of Directors shall also have the power to suspend or expel any member who conducts himself or herself in a manner detrimental to the Association or fails to comply with the rules and regulations of the Association. No membership fee shall be refunded to the applicant or member as the result of such action. 2. Partnerships, companies or corporations shall annually specify in writing sixty (60) days prior to the Association’s annual membership meeting, the person authorized to vote or act on their behalf at any meeting of the Association. Also, they must provide written authorization of a person to sign applications for registrations and transfers. 3. A membership may be transferred from one name to another maintaining the same breeder number and date, provided that application is made in writing and provided that the transferee is a legal entity in which the transferor of the certificate is a part owner, or the transferee is an heir or successor to the transferor; such action shall be subject to the approval of the Board of Directors. 4. All cattle registrations and transfers shall be made in the name of the membership as indicated on this application and shall bear the member’s authorized signature. Rubber stamp signatures are not acceptable. 5. If the Association accepts this application, the member agrees to comply with the bylaws and rules of the Association as interpreted and enforced by the Board of Directors of the Association.
